Matty (and you and everyone there) have been in my thoughts and prayers. Glad he's holding his own. If only they could speak...Healing hugs to you all~xo
p.s. and yes, we compost. It's the best, isn't it? Your goat helper probably makes a world of difference too. Wish I knew someone with a goat, nearby...I am way behind on pruning/planting/everything-ing. I better get busy soon...Happy planting/happy almost spring!
Poppy.
The days go by quickly. Spring is in the air. So many buds beginning to begin the journey on fruit trees. Poppies and bulbs blooming. It's been warm, although we will have a cool snap coming this weekend. A little rain, before the cold leaves us for good, they say. All my flower seeds I plante...
Oh Constance - she is so very pretty in pink! Love how she matches her outfit to her name - talk about coordinating your wardrobe!
So sorry to have been absent for so long this summer. Happy to see you once again though, and see how wonderfully you're pursuing your dream! Must catch up more...meanwhile, happy September! Autumn is almost here, hurray! xox
Rosetta
Meet Rosetta, a woodland maiden puppet who began her life because of generous gift from Dutchbaby, a old pink lace doll dress. She is destined for The Gallery here in Jefferson, Texas. I hope she makes you happy to see! xox Constance
Um, that last letter was s'posed to be an 'o' for hugs - not a 'p,' lol! Though that bit o'weirdness, was probably just me...sheesh.
What's Up Tiger Lily?
(the title of this post is from a Woody Allen movie of the same name - I couldn't think of a post title. I saw the movie about 1970 or so at Winterland in SF before a Pink Floyd concert) It's a Japanese film where he redubbed the sound with his own comedy script - it's really funny) None of thi...
Lovin' your tree people, Lisa! Life can be so daily, sometimes (and a bit weird too - at least, it has been lately for me...)Sending lots of love to you, today and every day. xoxp

Happy Valentine's Day!
Happy CELEBRATING the Day Marked to Celebrate Love and Loving!
Happy Saint Valentine's Day! May we feel loved, and give it unconditionally back to others. A day universal, marked as a day to Celebrate LOVING. How I wish everyday was marked for love. No better then that, how I wish everyone felt loved and had someone to love as well.
Happy Valentine's Day, dear Constance! So happy we met in this wild & wonderful virtual world. Sending you lots of love and wishing you a happy heart, today and every day!! xoxo
(Crossing my fingers and making a wish that this comment shows up. Strange computer things have been going on...)
Happy Valentine's Day!
Happy Valentine's Day! ~May all your day's be filled with love~ xox Constance
So glad you are okay! Looking at the news online has been rather shocking. My daughter and her little one have been visiting us down here, while my SIL has been keeping us updated (where they live is thankfully okay, so far), though they're returning later today and the thought of them crossing all that water to get back home seems a little worrisome. Hopefully the waters will continue to recede and everyone will stay safe. Hope you and yours' stay safe too!
Raindrops Keep Falling
The last 48 hours has been pretty wild, weary and worrisome. We had an epic rainstorm to beat the band, a real gully washer. Remember I said, there might be floods in (some) places? Turns out, we had one. Under our house! A bit of a shock because this has never happened before. We did not...
"Oh!" - oh my! Oo-la-la! I would have loved to have heard all those banjos - and the gut bucket too (odd but true, just on New Year's I said to my husband, "The world needs more jug bands!" - we were listening to bluegrass & folk music, with someone accompanying on spoons). What fun you must have had. Glad the good times rolled! Thanks for taking us along! xo
p.s. I wonder if the character in black might have been representing Pere Fouettard? (I'm not sure of the spelling - but I think he's sort of like Pere Noel's cop who gives the bad kiddos their coal...). Whether or not that's him - still a very interesting character!
Favorite Snaps From Nola
One of the best things about New Orleans is that it's the nearest place to where we live, where anything goes. Meaning: people can express themselves and be who they choose without worrying about what others think. No one looks twice or cares what you look like or what you are wearing and le...
Wishing you wonders and joys in 2012! Happy New Year, Constance dear! xo

Je Te Bénis
Je te bénis. Words written in an old French prayer journal I found at the brocante. Someone's hopes, dreams, thoughts, worries written down in prayer. Page after page. Someone's grandmother, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend... child. How could it be given away? How I would love to have a...
I'm so very sorry, Corey. It's so hard to lose someone you love - and somehow the holidays can seem to make the loss all the harder...Thinking of you and your family, praying that faith and sweet memories will bring some comfort to you all, through such a sad time. xo
Reflections of the Moment
Death of someone we love brings us to a stark reality. A new territory with a map fueled by emotion, lost ways and memories. Life is not only beautifully complex, but for the living, life continues even when you feel your world has fallen apart. During this time of great sadness regarding my...
Wow! I am awestruck both by this video - and also by your words about it, Corey. It is wonderful food for thought.
p.s. wonderful is a word I think of for you too - also, brocante ;)
p.s.s. Still praying.
Where do Our Words Lead Us
Last night I watched a video (linked below) called: The Birth of a Word. I was amazed and moved. Amazed that someone could imagine how to capture the birth of a word, and amazed at that implications of what that means. Imagine capturing the birth of a word?! While watching the...
Peace be with you and your family, Corey. xo
Going Through the Motions
My cousin Francabolla (Lynn's sister) is on her way home to face a terribly sad reality. I want to hop on a plane and join my family, to share their grief, to give support, to pray outloud with them, to wash our sorrow in tears... to hold their pain in my embrace. It is at times like this, i...
Still thinking of you and your family, Corey, and praying. Lord have mercy...
No Words
A sea of silence stirs within where words no longer express the depth one feels, The unknown shore, the sand moves under foot, the sky above opens. Sadness takes root. When words no longer exist... prayer offers a path, a mantra becomes a staff in hand leading one back home. "Lord have mercy...
Just got caught up. Praying now.
Hugs
Thank You
Rose.Petal.Bloom. Thank you for your generous prayers. We are still waiting, hoping and offering our good intentions towards Lynn. Thank you for keeping Lynn and her family in your good thoughts and prayers. My cousin (Lynn's sister, Francabolla is with me, as is our high school friend Mardo...
Such sweet toys.
I love that quote.

Welcome December!
How can it possibly be that we've turned the corner of 2011 and find ourselves at December's doorsteps? Time passes by so swiftly, don't you think? To kick off the holiday season, my mom and I hosted our Book Club luncheon celebrating Jan's birthday, earlier this week. Here is the tale of h...
Constance, you and your mama are amazing.
I think you have this synchronicity thing down pat. Go you! Making your mom's sweet dreams come true AND making your friend's birthday even more special.
That centerpiece is so beautiful. Like a tiny secret garden...
so
p.s. Your friend's earrings are gorgeous. Makes me wish I could still wear them...

What an amazing woodcarving! I'll pass the link on to family members, up there.
Loved seeing the photos of your catalog from the eighties. I think they hold much more charm than the slick, digital catalogs of today (though I'm certain they must have taken a lot of work in those pre-digital days!). What wonderful memories you must have made during that time.
Glad your family had a happy Thanksgiving. Thank you for the sunshine you bring to this virtual world!
Pumpkin Hollow
Saturday, the Mister and I stepped out and stepped back in time, or so it seemed, as we found ourselves here at this charming little home-run shop--that was recently built behind the owner's Colonial saltbox home. Pumpkin Hollow is open on a limited basis and by appointment, but the doors wer...
Reading what you've shared from your heart, Constance, I wish I could give you a hug, right now. I seem to have learned most things the hard way...but I think you're right, it can be those very things that knock us over that help compassion grow and make us stronger too. Maybe some colts need to sow their wild oats before they become stable and get good horse sense...Thank you for sharing your growing pains. I am so glad you grew into beautiful YOU. XOXO
How the Colt turned into a Horse
Have you ever considered how you gained independence and learned to become a responsible adult? Listening to a friend convey her thoughts on the topic of growing pains, I found myself pondered my past, unfolding early memories. ********* What were the cornerstones which allowed you to b...
Constance, I am so grateful to 'know' you, here in Bloglandia. Thanks for being wonderful you and sharing what you do! Hope you're having sweet pie dreams, tonight. Happy Thanksgiving, Constance! xOx
Happy Thanksgiving!
~ Happy Thanksgiving ~ I'm thankful for each one of you!! Love, Constance
Hey Constance - what treasures you're finding this fall. Love all the autumn colors of your world! Are those the aubergine snap peas, you told me about? They're gorgeous. Happy week to you too! xOx
Autumn Wonderland
~ Ravishing Red's~ ~Brilliant Blue's~ ~Bayou Blue's~ ~ Citron Yellow's~ ~Golden Light of Dusk~ ~Aubergine Beans~ ~Radiant Green's~ & a tiny Pop of Purple! This dazzlings, delightful time of year makes me feel most alive and happy. The long shadows, awesome bright blue light and...
So bright and cheery - in Christmas colors too. What a lovely gift. My husband always grows some peppers (he's more of a fan than I am - they don't agree with me much, anymore - but I still love to look at them). Your post reminds me, I need to remind him he needs to harvest them soon. Thai and little bird peppers, a few on each plant - not sure if there are enough to turn into a wreath, but that would be a great idea. Enjoy your spicy little wreath! xo
Pepper Wreath
A happy surprise was delivered fresh today, a lovely handmade pepper wreath, grown and strung by our friend and neighbor, Deborah. Using a needle and fishing line, she threaded the wreath in such a way (with loops at either end), so it can be hung as a garland too! Deborah explained th...
