Jam the TE every play off of the line with a big DE or LB and then cover them in space with a nickle CB?
Posted by: 86Cane | September 04, 2012 at 03:15 PM
Either cover 1 with the second safety covering the TE or keep a zone where players pay attention and communicate.. which was a major problem, not letting others know when somebody was coming across the field or players knowing where they had help and where they didn't
Just Win Baby
Trailing 14-0 in the first quarter of their game against Boston College your University of Miami football team could have hung their heads, folded their tents, packed their bags and headed back to South Florida with their damaged pride and an 0-1 record to start the season. Instead this Miami te...
Wanna cover the TE? Take out a LB (pick one any one except Perryman) and insert Deon Bush. DONE!
Posted by: 86Cane | September 04, 2012 at 02:38 PM
You take out the LB and put in Bush then they keep on running. I don't think our run defense is as solid as you guys seem to think.. I saw a lot of missed tackles (notably by the safeties) and BC running backs hitting holes and gaining yards early on. That's no bueno

Finally got the typepad log in right on the 5th try haha, been a while
Hopefully we don't get driven back this year by Kstate's line, and find a way to cover the TE for once

I'm not sure if somebody has posted this or not, but this is some love from dinich and her predictions for the next decade:
8. Miami contends for the national title. It could be any number of teams in the ACC that make the big game -– Florida State, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, North Carolina –- but I’m giving the Canes my vote for the ACC’s first team to the BCS national championship this decade.
9. Florida State and Miami face each other in the ACC title game. It’s only a matter of time before both of these programs return to elite status, and considering the similar paths they’re on, odds are they get in each other’s way.
10. The ACC finally gets an at-large BCS bowl bid. It hasn’t happened since before ACC expansion. The conference came very close this year to having two BCS bowl-bound teams, as Miami and Virginia Tech both flirted with top 10 BCS rankings but eventually fell out. Considering how close the conference came this year with still-young teams, it’s bound to happen sooner than later.
East Meets West
Yesterday at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando East met West as The Shriners hosted their annual regional All-Star game in Central Florida. The weather was beautiful, the game was fun, the Shriners are good people, wish you were here. Oh yeah, I almost forgot: The East beat the West 13-10. Since I ...

By The Numbers: 2009 Season Statistics
This blog was written for Canespace by Michael Bradley (MiamiMike01)... In a year of ups and downs, peaks and valleys and games of feast and famine, this is how our beloved Canes stacked up against the competition in the NCAA and against our ACC brethren. Miami finished 9-4 overall, 5-3 in the...

Football Has Been Berry, Berry Good To Me
This article was written for Canespace by long-time blogger Loco... There were a few surprise players this past season, on both offense and defense. Despite our stable of running backs, one player stood out that most people thought would get lost in the shuffle: Damien Berry. Berry came to UM ...

I asked this a few weeks ago and no one responded - but the Hurricane Club finally just sent the notice out about the Jimmy Johnson, Randy Shannon, NFL 'Canes dinner on 2/1, so I'll try again. Anyone else going?
Soup, if you want, I can cover the event for Canespace.

Loco - I thought the Jags were going to trade down and get Tebow, and no I'm not kidding that's been discussed pretty openly in the media.
Posted by: CanesCanesCanes | January 11, 2010 at 10:51 PM
they wouldn't trade down... God forbid somebody take him if they do. They'll take him right where they are I bet, if they don't trade up first. But watch out, Al Davis could take Tebow because he's a big, athletic QB haha

Canesport is reporting Morris is cleared to enroll early!
Posted by: TXCane | January 11, 2010 at 10:15 PM
Good news about Morris. Isn't there some way we can spin that to say Randy sucks? Somebody needs to get on that right away.
Posted by: CanesCanesCanes | January 11, 2010 at 10:26 PM
Morris has to come in because Shannon let Jacory get hurt. If it wasn't for Shannon not being able to keep Cannon and Cook, Morris wouldn't HAVE to come early. And gosh, he's only a 3 star at that
How's that? I tried... haha

What Schnelly did different was go into the inner city and bring those kids into the traditionally snooty environment of Coral Gables. That was great for him and the U but not a revolutionary concept.

These are "Gingers," folks. They call themselves your fan and then you catch them sleeping with your best friend, plotting your murder, and kidnapping your kid and running off with their pimp.
