Sorry, country and government are not the same. Being asked to do for your country implies a willing self-sacrifice on your part for the greater good of the Nation. Being asked to do for your government reeks of an Orwellian "love for Big Brother" mentality.

I don't get it, Kee. You posted the article then make sarcastic "OOOWEEOhhh" comments when myself and Leopold remark on the contents of the article? Hell, I detest the Liberals of Democratic Party's quest to turn America into a quasi-European system of entitlements, too. But did you quit reading the article after the author was done throwing down on Nancy, Reid, and the like? It does go on to talk about his Master Class theory, and is relatively apolitical while doing so.

I guess I could have selectively edited Johnny Dare's comments to just throw down on how nobody would complain if it were a gathering of Obamaites, but I'm old school when it comes to what I think journalism should be in regards to referencing something someone said. Factual and not taken out of context to fit my political opinion.

That is a really good article. The Master Class is the government and everyone else with inside knowledge that will profit the remaining wealth of it's citizenry. Given the numbers in the article, our Master Class (or anyone with a brain) knows that it cannot possibly repay the debt America owes and currency devaluation is only inevitable. Entitlement programs and State propaganda are the opium that keeps it's people going along the path to the financial gallows. Once devastation has been laid, the Master Class, much like locust with the wealth in hand, move on to the next country (China, perhaps?) to Wash, Rinse, Repeat until dry.

Kee: I think you misunderstood me a bit. I was quoting a statement I heard on the radio by Johnny Dare, the 98.9 The Rock DJ whom is pretty much responsible for Rockfest. I didn't lump the Tea Party crowd into the statement, just passing along what he said. I'm taking away from that statement is that if the idea of Rockfest itself isn't your cup of tea (couldn't resist), it would be sooo easy to stereotype the people whom were there as disrespectful no matter what. Personally, I'd expect nothing less from Tea Party attendees to leave the grounds of where they gathered as they found it and know they do. I expect those values from anybody. Whomever was there, the grounds would have gotten messed up given the weather. Rockfest promoters promised to clean it up in time for Memorial Day and I'll believe them at their word until proven otherwise.

"The promoters of Rockfest and the majority of folks who attend it have no respect for either the park or the historical monuments on this property." "...it could have shown the disrespect by the young people." I don't think I'm going to go too far out on a limb by saying that I'm sure neither of these two actually attended Rockfest. Those comments and their tone in general is asinine. I'm 45 and this has been my third Rockfest in four years since moving to KC in 2000. Outside of the usual knuckleheads here and there, everyone is by and large very respectful of each other and the surroundings. Desecrating the War Monument? First of all, no fans were allowed near the monument. Secondly, the fans would have immediately policed up their own if that behavior was observed. I'm putting it politely what would happen, of course. Johnny Dare made a great point the other day. Given the weather the grounds would have sustained damage given the amount of people. I wonder how our letter writer's tune would change if this damage occurred after a Tea Party gathering, or a visit by Billy Graham or Barack Obama.

Another blame Bush response. This is the only area that BHO has taken a moderate stance (much to the chagrin of the far-left) and sent a "surge" of troops to hopefully replicate the seemingly light at the end of the tunnel results we are seeing in Iraq. The concern is civilian casualties, so my guess is that much like in Fallujah we are announcing our intentions up-front in order for the non-combatants to flee the area. That tactic has it's inherent faults, but..... I do agree with the letter writer that some of the Rules of Engagement we burden our soldiers with are ridiculous. Non-combatant deaths are tragic, but our enemy knows this full well and maximizing opportunities for this to happen. It's ironic that we care more for the innocent Islamic population than they do.

I applaud AZ for taking action despite inaction by the Federal Govt, but I'm sure it will be shot down by a Federal Judge for being unconstitutional. God forbid we profile Hispanic people coming across the border from Mexico!

First of all I have to say I love your prose! Two great examples of why insurance premiums will rise to support those that really don't give a crap because health care will be paid for by somebody else. The "solution" that will be proposed next will be, "wow, nobody ever expected that to happen (duh!), this would not happen if we just taxed everyone up-front and created a Single-Payer system". Welcome to the end-state of Obama HC. Keep working and paying responsible people, the lackadaisical are depending on you!!
Well, if KCI was like many other airports with bars and diners across the aisle from the boarding gates there would not be an issue. Not a knock on our airport and I'm definitely not one wanting to change it. Just is what it is. I, too, would like at least one TV dedicated to sporting events that are KC oriented. One time in the St. Louis Airport during the NFL playoffs, even the little Southwest boarding screens had the Rams game on it before people started boarding. Not recently, of course :-)

This is beyond silly. I'm sorry you have a medical reason for being overweight. However, the vast majority of Americans don't. I agree with Michelle Obama's platform, eat right and get some exercise! Much like people want to lower the standards of scholastic tests in order to make the underachievers feel smart, this is another feel good measure to make it ok for people to be overweight but not accept any responsibility for being so. In fact, we'll just work on ways to bend it into being not only socially acceptable but a redeeming value! By the way, I have a crappy metabolism and have to work my butt off at the gym to keep my weight down.

As with Health Care, or any other subject for that matter, the Left isn't interested in any opinion but their own. Obama said it, I believe it, and that settles it.

As a frequent flyer out of KCI, I say what isn't broke don't fix. If I'm traveling without bags, I can get to long term parking an hour before a flight and have no problems catching my flight. Try that at JFK! Thankfully in recent years, KCI has added food/beverages and restroom access after one clears security. That was ridiculous. Yes, going through security again because a connecting flight is at another gate/terminal at KCI is a pain. Oh well, it's not like one would experience that in San Fran. KCI makes up for that in my mind with permanently free Wi-Fi access. Good luck finding that elsewhere while waiting for a flight. The whole argument that a single terminal would improve one's shopping experience is a farce. Paton's post nails it on the head. Let's spend billions of dollars to eliminate customer satisfaction so that vendors have a better opportunity to soak a captive audience.

Raymond is so far left I just don't think he cares what happens. But why stop the wars now? The Obama Administration has now taken credit for the surge and subsequent victory in Iraq! For such a supposedly enlightened president, I cannot believe he thinks the American people can be so stupid or gullible to believe that.
Obama can talk all day about reaching across the aisle, but that means nothing when Congress continues to hold closed-door "Democrats Only" sessions to scheme their way into getting Health Care passed. The Democratic majority in Congress appear to be the party of "No, thanks" in regards to hearing differing opinions that don't conform to their own.
This is my first post on this blog, so hello everybody! I read this blog almost everyday, but I finally decided to jump in. Being a prior service Army person, I'm really disappointed how this discussion devolved from gays in the military into a refute of the argument against whose whom disagree because women have mud-wrestled in Iraq. This brings nothing to the argument. The Armed Services is a microcosm of today's society, containing the left, right, and whatever. I've been deployed overseas in combat zones for months on end and personally would not have been offended by this event, whether it was appropriate is up for debate. What I do take offense to is for people to apply the "correctness" doctrine that is normally reserved for elected members of federal leadership to our military brothers and sisters for political posturing. They didn't run for office, they enlisted to defend our country. My point is that I wish for people to quit assuming that everyone in the military is far right conservative politically that are ripe for disparagement to support their political argument.
