I wasn't alive at the time, but I wanted to say thank you for introducing me to that song. I just listened to it three times in a row and started crying. I was 14 when Columbia exploded (yes, I know, I'm a baby), and although my memories of it are far eclipsed by 9/11, I remember the frantic scramble to find the one working television in the middle of nowhere so we could at least hear the president speak. The whole thing was colored by all the adults talking about what Challenger had been like, and how much worse it had been with everyone watching.
