Having a hard time keeping up with my little blog here.....I just spent about 2 hours trying to figure out if I can add widgets. I think I have to have the "pro blog", but I can't afford $15 a month. So, I just made an account on blogspot, but haven't made any posts yet. I am slowly feeling better, and spending some time sewing/ quilting. This picture is of the latest table topper I finished about a week ago. I love it, it's on my table already. I made a list of some UFO's I need to finish, and... Continue reading

So...I've not got much accomplished for quite awhile, except is paying off, I am feeling much better today. I went to an art show opening last night that my friend has several pieces in. I had such a nice evening. There was other artists work, also. I was amazed at the talent and imagination I observed. It was a very inspiring event for me, and also for my son and daughter who are both serious art lovers and artists in their own right. Did some work on my latest project this week, I am pleased with the results thus... Continue reading

So, it's Thursday and I haven't accomplished much this week except sleeping alot. Bad news is doc says it can take up to 6 months or more to recover from mono. Every time I get it, the recovery time is longer. At least it's winter, last time I had it was in the summer months...that really ticked me off. I worked a bit today on my large wool quilt. Actually, it's mixed fabrics with wool accents. Trying to use a light background this time, very challenging for me. Pictures soon..... Time to rest some more...maybe read a bit... Continue reading

This picture reminds me of when I was little and made doll clothes.....'s Saturday.....a very cold and snowy day. It is 12:24pm and I am still in my jammies. D is helping C deliver Fed Ex today, little D is at Ph's, and little P is glued to the Xbox. I, on the other hand, have not done a sinlge thing yet today. I do have an excuse....doc confirmed I have had mono for quite some time, and a kidney infection. Wondered why I have been so flippin' exhausted for about 2 months. I just keep trying to move... why is it that taking down the holiday decorations requires so much more time than putting them out/up? And no one wants to helps, the kids aren't excited because Christmas is over.....and everything looks so plain and bare until I get used to it again. I have my Valentine decos ready to go up, so that helps. Our anniversary is Valentine's Day, so it's pretty special to me. We will celebrate 18 years soon, together for 19. Hard to believe it's been that many years already. And I still feel so lucky and blessed. Gonna get back to this task.....all... Continue reading

well, boys are back to school today after being home on break for 2 weeks. I have mixed feelings about this, I miss them, but I must admit....I am enjoying the QUIET! shhhhh......listen....that's sound.....except for the fridge running. I'm about to put on some John Mayer in my studio and work on some projects. I did spend time in there yesterday, got quite a bit accomplished. Finished another pair of jammie pants for J, it'll be awhile before I sew on garnments again, I so much more enjoy my artsy fartsy stuff. I am so anxious to work on... Continue reading

great day, slept in, had lunch at IHOP with P & P, saw Up in the Air with D, short guys saw Sherlock Holmes. We all grabbed to-go food to bring home, watched OSU kick some butt. I am ready to snuggle in for the evening and read for awhile. Tomorrow I hope to spend some time in my "studio". I am having withdrawals from my sewing/quilting. Happy New Year everyone!! Well, here we go! I'm saying good-bye to 2009 and welcoming 2010 with an open mind and heart. 2009 wasn't a bad year for me, even though I turned 50 in May. Turns out, it was just another birthday, age ain't nothin' but a number......yeah, right.....This blog will be more for me than anyone else. A place to look back and reflect and maybe see growth in different areas of my life. I'm sure it will mostly be about my never ending need to create beautiful things, and the stages I go through during the course of each project/ creation.... Continue reading
