Option B is certainly correct, and this goes back to the issue of Saudi soft power, mainly expressed through Madrassahs and other missionary efforts. We see a country that looks normal, then when that society undergoes really bad stress - like the drought in Syria or the war in Iraq - the religious training comes out. Every attempt to create a military defeat for Isis makes them stronger. As society falls apart due to war Arab society is able to recombine without secular influences, and it does so as instructed by the Madrassah. This is somewhat akin to what would happen if the U.S. were bombed to the point where secular civilization was impossible. People raised in the U.S. would rebuild a civilization based in some kind of republic or democracy, not because we're special or for any other reason, except that this is the basic training we receive, from a very early age, in our schools, about how society should be structured. Following the religious takeover, we see Saudi aid to the newly acquired region. What we're seeing is the failure to create some kind of American soft power in the Muddled East, combined with our failure to remove the Saudi government after 9/11.
Hey Wil, You might enjoy this one. The art isn't great, but the storyline is very interesting. (Imagine a Hentai Harem game where all the girls are Lovecraftian entities... Very weird and fun.)
