You have a point. But I don't believe the Conservative criticism stems from the dialectic. It's mostly the left that suffers from that dumb trap. Paul is wrong on Iran, and that is rooted in the Libertarian mistake that confuses NAP with pacifism. In Objectivism self defense is a moral imperative. But Libertarianism isn't Objectivism. The latter is rooted in reason, the former isn't. Objectivism is absolutist and acknowledges objective good and evil; Libertarianism is relativist and denies it. That's how Paul made his mistake on Iran.
