Working with a variety of people from all walks of life has given me some insight into the process of success. Regardless of our background, skills, experience, or attitude, we can't be successful until we feel confident about who we are and what we're doing. It's one of those cart before the horse things, since we tend to think that being successful will give us confidence. In fact, feeling confident FIRST will allow us to experience success and the achievement of our goals. Here are some ways to connect to the confidence within you. via positive-thoughts.typepad.com You can start your... George Rebane There’s a major and potentially harmful debate about the function and effect of quarantine in securing America against the ingress and spread of Ebola. It all spins around a significant misunderstanding of duty and volunteerism, primarily suffered by our politically correct cadres. Everyone agrees that Ebola must be stopped in its African hotzone, and that requires the massive help from developed countries – mostly America and the EU. Most people (although not so many in our federal government) understand the ability of Ebola to infect in its asymptomatic and symptomatic phases. Few at policy making levels in government... The Billings Gazette apologized on Friday for its 2008 endorsement of Barack Obama for president in an editorial titled “Gazette opinion: Obama earned the low ratings.” The Gazette said it missed George W. Charles Krauthammer said Thursday on “Special Report with Bret Baier” that June's favorable jobs report proves that conservatives were right in the debate over extending unemployment benefits and that "you can't keep the American economy down forever." The Labor Department reported Thursday that the unemployment rate has fallen to to 6.1 percent, down from 6.3 percent in May. This was due in part to the addition of 288,000 jobs in June. President Obama touted the news at an event in Washington noting “we've now seen the fastest job growth in the United States in the first half of the year... Continue reading

An Illinois woman who took her fight against one of the nation's most powerful unions all the way to the Supreme Court and won, said all she ever wanted was to care for her ailing son. Pam Harris, the lead plaintiff in the landmark Harris v. Quinn case, in which the high court ruled people who care for loved ones in their home can't be compelled to join the Service Employees International Union, said the ruling was a victory for her son Josh, who suffers from a rare genetic disorder. Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson dodged pointed questions Sunday about whether the tens of thousands of Central American children who have recently entered the U.S. illegally will be deported or allowed to stay. His responses on NBC’s “Meet the Press” and those of other Obama administration officials about what exactly they will do about the estimated 50,000 children who have entered the U.S. illegally in recent months are being characterized as ambiguous, as officials try to secure the U.S.-Mexico border. Johnson said everybody who crossed the border faces a “pending” deportation proceeding but also repeated recent administration talking points about... Continue reading

So outrageous were the allegations that the usually subdued and sharia-compliant British authorities initiated an investigation into the charges that devout Muslims covertly sought to “Islamize” the public schools in the UK. The bombshell was dropped last month in a leaked letter, describing an operation purportedly named “Trojan Horse.” According to Andrew Gilligan in The Telegraph, the jihad ringleader of the Trojan Horse plot constructed and implemented a “detailed blueprint for the radical ‘Islamisation’ of secular state schools.” The plot was so severe that a number of UK schools now face “special measures,” which is the British term for (at... “‘One Nation Under Allah’: The Islamization of American Public Schools,” Breitbart, April 29, 2014 Endless concessions and accommodations to Islamic demands only give way to more demands for even more Islam, as shown in the recent blockbuster revelations of an Islamic takeover of UK public schools. What is less well known is the same kinds of things are happening here in the United States. So outrageous were the allegations that the usually subdued and sharia-compliant British authorities initiated an investigation into the charges that devout Muslims covertly sought to “Islamize” the public schools in the UK. George Rebane The Red Chinese and their People’s Liberation Army are hacking American corporations for designs, trade secrets, and business plans -imagine that. Well, our AG Eric Holder did justthat recently, and decided it was time to put his foot down and fight crime wherever it was found. He actually indicted five PLA officers for being bad guys and put their names on the FBI’s most wanted list for “economic espionage and trade secret theft”. I understand it’s bad for your blood pressure to hold back impending massive guffaws, so I didn’t even try. And I’m sure that the Chinese... LEARN TO USE WORDSof empowerment. If you say something enough, you believe it. If you believe something enough, it often comes true. No, I’m not talking about lottery jackpots here, but rather about how your beliefs have a huge impact on your destiny. If you believe you can’t do it, then you’re right, you can’t. It doesn’t matter what you eat or how much you exercise because “I can’t do it” is the most consistent self-fulfilling prophecy in the world. I talk to people all the time who tell me, “I just can’t do it. If I could lose ten... Continue reading

Dear Barack, Even though you pretend everything is hunky-dory between us, it's not. The truth is, we're not happy, happy, happy with you. You promised to create jobs and rebuild our lack-luster economy. We believed you. But, today, 91.8 million able-to-work Americans sit idle. There are fewer jobs in our country than before you burst onto the scene promoting "hope and change." One thing for certain, our lives have changed, but not in the way we'd hoped. We never would have imagined you're promote a "non-work" ethic and encourage people to escape "job lock," sit on their butts, contemplate... Continue reading

We always seem to want those things we don't have. Moreover, we are often convinced that if we had those things we want so badly, we would finally be happy. Singles who want to be in a relationship often believe once they are in one they will finally be happy. Those in shaky relationships hope their relationship will work out, because having worked it out will finally make them happy. "I will be happy when I am in love." "I will be happy when he/she does really loves me." "I will be happy when I know he or she is... Continue reading

Asia Bibi is in prison awaiting execution on false accusations of blasphemy. Only God can free her because Christians in the West don't dare to speak out on her behalf: "Talk about extreme, militant Islamists and the atrocities that they have perpetrated globally might undercut the positive achievements that we Catholics have attained in our inter-religious dialogue with devout Muslims." -- Robert McManus, Roman Catholic Bishop of Worcester, Massachusetts, February 8, 2013 via atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com Continue reading
