When you look at these two teams the similarities just jump right out at you. They both have hot young quarterbacks who have the abilities to make plays with both their arms and legs. Aaron Rodgers and Ben can extend plays because they are great athletes and tough guys. They take a lot of shots and are willing to hold on to the ball to make plays downfield. Both teams also play tough pressure defense. They both want to come after the quarterback. When these two teams played last year it was a wide open football game. There was a lot of blitzing and both quarterbacks took some hits. It almost looked like Rodgers was knocked out in the first half when Lawrence Timmons came on a blitz and laid him out. Rodgers got up and kept firing and it came down to the last play a 19 yard touchdown pass from Roethelisberger to Mike Wallace to win that football game. I expect the same kind of game this time. I think that both defenses are going to try to blitz and both offenses are going to make some plays. There are stars on both sides of the ball for both teams. It’s going to come down to which team is tougher whether it is the quarterback, running back or defense. In my mind right now I am thinking that the Steelers win in each one of those categories. I think it will be a great game but I think the Steelers will win 27-24.
My family does not have any real Super Bowl traditions. Every Super Bowl has been different for my family. I think the best Super Bowl for me was when the Steelers were in the Super Bowl in 2005 back in Detroit. My wife Sharon, and three kids Tanner, Natalie and Clay all came out to that game and we all spent the weekend together. They came in on Friday and watched me do a television and a couple radio shows. We also had a chance to have the pre-game meal together and then they went to the game. It was really cool just having them there with me at the game.
