My husband owns that Roots t-shirt with the Atari controller, and got it from Gameskins.com (aka Penny Arcade). It is tawesome.
never forget your roots
While walking through Comicon three or four years ago, I stopped to look at one of those booths that's filled with a hundred different T-shirts. Somewhere among the various superhero crests and clever nerd phrases and obscure sci-fi homages, I saw a fairly simple design: an Atari joystick, sitti...
Definitely Pitfallish.
in which 8-bit wil appears in an 8-bit sequel
The 8-bit version of me in my 8-bit clown sweater returns to Diesel Sweeties for a sequel to yesterday's comic: see more hipster robot webcomics and pixel t-shirts Am I the only person who sees little gold shiny lines around 8-bit me that are awfully similar to the gold shiny lines we'd see ar...
Don't let the haters get you down. It's hard to slough off negativity, I know. But you've got better things to do with your time.
And don't get too freaked about the masses that follow you. At least with those kind of numbers, you don't have the self-conscious moments wondering what seemingly inoffensive tweet just made 2-3 followers drop you.
@pockygirl
what to expect if you follow me on twitter (or: how I'm going to disappoint you in 6 quick steps)
Yesterday, my friend Alan tweeted a link to this story of how Twitter was born. If you use Twitter at all, you should totally check it out because it's awesome. If you don't use Twitter, you should totally check it out, because a lot of what you may have heard about Twitter is probably filtered ...
Ahem. Mad skills. \m/_
did my time, took my chances, got my geek on
YouTube user ewingsquadron put together a really cool overview of our Rock Band party at Phoenix Comicon: And here I am doing Eye of the Tiger: And here's We Got The Beat, which was crazy fun and much more tiring on drums than I was expecting. It does have a drum solo, though, which ...
Agreed, "We got the Beat" is surprisingly tiring.
Out of curiosity, what level are you drumming at? I'm the resident Rock Band drummer at home, and regularly shock and awe my friends with my mad skillz, but I'm still only managing Medium at 100% and have a spotty record at Hard. I'm determined to master Expert this year.

When potato salad goes bad...
LA Daily: analog folding @ home
A teacher once told an improv class I was in that performers should always work to amuse themselves and have fun while they're performing, because "when you're enjoying yourself on stage, the audience will relax and have fun with you." It's one of those things that seems completely obvious, but ...
If I start calling oversize cowboy hats MetaHats, I'm blaming you.
@BarackObama, @GregGrunberg: We're totally in a comic together!
This is just awesome. Three thoughts: 1) HijiNKS Ensue joins Something Positive to be the second comic in the last week that's made me feel more awesome than I deserve, or will ever actually be. 2) Greg is probably famous enough to actually get to meet him, but this is likely the closest I'll ev...

Oh, simultaneous posting! So Comic-con is the next viable opportunity for us Northerners? I'll have to consider it.
Unrelated note: is there any archive of the old Soapbox or was it totally borked? I've been hankering to read my old arguments about the start of the war on terror and have some immature 'I told you so' moments.
"This just keeps getting better!"
"If the Penny Arcade Expo has a star, it's not Gabe or Tycho. It's not special guests like MC Frontalot or Wil Wheaton. It's not even veritable champions of nerdery like PAX '08 Omegathon winner Joey Gecko. No, it's geeky culture itself. And when we gather to celebrate our own, wackiness invaria...

Any future plans to return to Seattle or perhaps further north to Vancouver?
I came down to PAX specifically to see you on Sunday and the border lineup meant we arrived after your panel (missed it entirely). Then a severe need for food meant we missed the line ride to your signing as well. My plaintive cries and puppy dog eyes to the Enforcer in charge of the line went fully unheeded. Understandably of course, as it looked like there was no way you'd even make it through the existing line in an hour -- your cold must've made it doubly difficult.
(To add to the comedy of errors of my day, I also missed out on Felicia Day & Kim Evey sightings... making my PAX experience consist of paying $30 to see Jenga played live. LOL.)
So just curious when my next opportunity for a meet n' greet or book reading might be.

speaking of gaming, what happened to the Thurs night poker tourney? Is it not happening tonight?
Sony Leaks PS3 Price
I swear to jeebus, it's a good thing so many geeks still live with their parents, and the rest of them made brazillians in the dot com boom, because these game systems are getting stupid expensive.
