Exciting news today for Expert Labs: Andy Baio has joined our team as our newest Project Director. Andy will be working as a "Director of Hacks", leading the effort to create smart new ways to look at the data collected by apps like ThinkUp. Andy's new role marks the beginning of a whole new phase for Expert Labs; We're now very tightly focused on working with agencies that want to get crowdsourced feedback, and the biggest request those agencies make is to better understand the ideas that people submit. We're answering those requests with smart tools for presenting, visualizing, sorting... Continue »

I was born and raised in San Francisco. I've been a Giants fan my whole life. Most of my youth was spent bouncing a ball of the back of my parents' house and catching it while listening to Hank Greenwald call Giants games on KNBR. When the Giants won the pennant in 1989, I was just happy that they had made it to the World Series. Then the earthquake before game 3 made baseball seem a lot less important. When the Giants lost game 6 of the 2002 series after being up 5-0 and then lost game 7, I was... Continue »

You would think that considering how much I love dressing up in period clothing and sewing, I would have had created some wildly ambitious costume for Halloween 2010. You'd think that. I wore the World War II -... Continue »

The Giants are going to the World Series! What a season, what a set of personalities. Not surprisingly, I'd love to see them win but at this point just taking the pennant is so well deserved by a team that has more personality than any team I've ever watched, save the 1986 Mets. But those Mets were the bad kids, doing drugs in the back of the bus and generally causing mayhem across the league. The 2010 Giants are more like the freaks and geeks crowd. Just my kind of people. I want to point out that I called this... Continue »
