~ Happy Wednesday, everyone! It’s time for another Color Throwdown challenge, and boy, does Vickie have a fabulous combo for us! ~ ~ I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to try out an old technique that Jennifer McGuire recently brought back to the limelight – alcohol ink backgrounds. So I pulled out my really old inks and found that they were too old to use. Hmmm. But I have loads of Copic reinkers which are also alcohol inks! So here’s what I came up with. ~ ~ I followed Jennifer’s instructions using my B000 and B21 Copic reinkers... Continue reading

~ Happy Wednesday to you all! Are you ready for a brilliantly fun new Color Throwdown challenge! I absolutely love this simple, yet striking combo that Jodi came up with for us this week! ~ ~ What a fun pillow! I was totally drawn to the purple sky/clouds with the lightning, so I tried to recreate them for my card. ~ ~ I pulled a branch from a very old (retired) stamp set to use as my lightning. I stamped it in Versamark and white embossed it a couple of times before using a cloud die cut to sponge on... Continue reading

~ Happy Sunday to you all! There’s a brand new Power Poppy digital stamp set being released today called Hops and Barley. ~ ~ Here is what Marcy had to say about the Hops and Barley set: Everywhere you turn these days, there seems to be an upstart craft brewery opening its doors, or a new "IPA" or "Seasonal Ale" to sample at the local pub. In the spirit of this beloved spirit, I've designed a botanical stamp set that celebrates two of the essential used in the brewing of beer: Hops and Barley. A few "hoppy" sentiments and a... ~ Hello, again! I hope any of you who were in the path of the devastating hurricanes we've had over the past 2 weeks are recovering from the losses and emotional stress. I know the South Carolina low-country coast has been all but demolished again, less than a year after Matthew. It's so sad. It's one of the places that I love most.
