~ Hey, y’all! I’m hosting the challenge at the Color Throwdown this week, and I’ve chosen a color combo that can be used for many, many different types of cards – Red, Green, and Gray. ~ ~ I know you’re expecting a summer themed card from me, but this is also my post for our Keeping Christmas blog hop for July! ~ ~ So my card is definitely a Christmas card! ~ ~ I made a card that is easy to pull together. I actually have several of the Santas that have already been stamped and die cut. So I... Continue reading

~ Did you hear about the big digi release at Power Poppy? It started on Friday, July 20, with a free digi image! ~ ~ Today is day 5 and the release is the Miraculous Mushrooms digital stamp set. ~ ~ Marcella says: From our wildly popular Wild Mushrooms clear set, I’ve selected a favorite drawing, the Fly Agaric or Amanita muscaria, to release as a digi. The only difference, this image is a little larger than the clear stamp, and I've also taken out the lettering that identifies the mushroom, to allow for a bit more flexibility with your... ~ Hey, you guys! It’s time for another fabulous Color Throwdown challenge! This week’s our fearless leader Barbara has a wonderful palette for us to play with: Cobalt Blue, Aqua, Gray, and White. ~ ~ So beautiful! I chose to make an alcohol ink sheet using Cloudy Blue, Sailboat Blue, and blending solution, then stamped the Essentials by Ellen Mondo Hydrangea in Versafine onyx black ink. ~ ~ Then I created my card by cutting out the hydrangeas and popping them up over a piece of Heidi Swap Favorite Things 6x6 paper that was first stamped with the stem in... ~ Happy Wednesday, everyone! Our latest Color Throwdown challenge is brought to you by our hostess, Amy Rysavy. This great combo consists of Yellow, Gray, Kraft, and White. ~ ~ Sadly, I needed a sympathy card this week, so I used the Layered Poppy stamp from Rubbernecker and the great sentiment from Reverse Confetti to make a simple watercolor card. ~ ~ This is a tall card, barely fitting into a letter size envelope. I water colored with Distress inks and added some black enamel to the flower centers and some twine. We would love to see what you can... Continue reading

~ Happy 25th of the month! That means it’s time for another Keeping Christmas blog hop to help inspire you to get some Christmas cards done before the rush is upon us. I know it’s only June, but if you blink, it will be Christmas Eve and too late to make any cards! ~ ~ This month I did a little bit of Copic coloring on my adorable little car carrying the Christmas tree home to be decorated. It’s from the Essentials by Ellen Tis the Season stamp set. The background is just a piece of a panel that was... Continue reading

There are a few brand new leading ladies by Brandi Kincaid and they are available TODAY at the Ellen Hutson store! ~ ~ Of course, my favorite is the Beach Lady stamp set and her matching dies. She was so much fun to play with! And here’s the first card that I made with her. Believe me, there will be many, many more! ~ ~ I created my background by loosely coloring with my Copic markers on Yupo paper, then added some definition between the sky/water/sand using Copic Opaque white paint. ~ Happy Wednesday, everybody!! It’s time for a brand new Color Throwdown challenge and this week Lisa has picked an awesome color combo for us: Black, White, and Aqua. ~ ~ I really couldn’t decide what to do, but I seem to go back to the PTI Tropics stamp and die sets when I’m uncertain. I can always use it with multiple techniques. To me, it’s a classic. Here’s my card using a “smooshing” watercolor resist technique: ~ ~ The leaves are clear embossed, and I die cut an extra one to pop up on foam tape for added dimension.... Continue reading

~ Yay! It’s time for a new Color Throwdown challenge! Here are the colors that our talented hostess Jodi has chosen – Navy, Burgundy, Gold. ~ ~ Somebody needs to slap my wrist this week because I totally left the gold off of this one. But the burgundy and blue are there! ~ ~ I used the Simon Says Stamp Sketch Ranunculus stamp set to create a small bouquet and then added the sentiment from the same set. It’s a simple card but it says a lot! We would love to see what you can come up with now! You... Continue reading

~ Hi, all! It’s the 25th of the month and I have another Christmas card for the Keeping Christmas blog hop to show you. ~ ~ I love the Hero Arts layering stamp sets, especially the Cardinal. No coloring involved – only stamping and embellishing! ~ ~ I stamped the cardinal in layers and die cut him. Then I stamped the branch pieces on another piece of white cardstock, stamped the sentiment, and used my air compressor to spray paint the background using my Copic marker B02. I used a border frame die to emboss the panel, then rounded the... Continue reading

~ It’s time for another Color Throwdown challenge! This week Amy Rohl is our hostess and her color combo is a classic – Blue, Red, and White! ~ ~ I just love the simplicity of that inspiration photo. I needed a card for someone special who just bought a new house. Now, I don’t have a house stamp (that I can find right now, anyway), so I pulled out the retired Avery Elle Oh Yeah stamp and die set and used the arrow stamp & die to stamp several houses and cut one out of red cardstock. Then I ran... Continue reading

I’ve chosen some fresh spring/summer colors for us to play with: Aqua, Lime, and White! ~ ~ Now I know you probably think I made a beachy card with these colors (Right, Nise??), but I didn’t! The Seriously die and Stitched Hearts die are from Lil’ Inker Designs. The Distress Oxide... Continue reading

~ Hey, y’all! We’ve come upon another Wednesday, so that means a brand new Color Throwdown challenge! This week our hostess, Amy Rohl, has a bold & bright color combo for us – Eggplant, Green, and White. ~ ~ It’s almost time here in the South for the hummingbirds to show up. They almost always show up on April 1st and stick around our area until September 1st, sometimes a little later. I’m anxious for them to come back. I love the little whirring sound they make when they’re flitting about, and they’re so much fun to watch. So when... Continue reading

~ Hello, you guys! I’m the hostess for the Color Throwdown challenge this week. I’m ready for some warm weather to come and stay awhile so I chose some fresh Spring (or Summer) colors for this week: Coral, Green, and Kraft. ~ ~ I thought these colors would work well for a Mer-mazing underwater scene, using the super sweet Mermaid Love stamp set from Flora & Fauna. If you look closely you’ll see a tiny hint of blue water in the background. ~ ~ I stamped the shell throne and the sea plants first and then water colored everything! The... Continue reading
