I know people always wonder about that, but the steel skeleton is just there to keep it from collapsing. I'm assuming butter couldn't bear that weight.
I didn't put it in there, because it's in my column Saturday, but the butter will be converted to biodiesel in Erie and turned over to the National Guard to use in its equipment.
Michael Jack had 13 right.

Bill, my parents or I have had at least three Perry Como Christmas albums, and we never heard that one. After you e-mailed the link to me -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOmNeQHyLA4 -- I listened and still didn't recognize it. Nice video, though. My favorite nontraditional Perry Como Christmas songs are "C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S" and "That Christmas Feeling."
Both newspapers' editorial boards supported the idea, so it obviously had a lot of appeal.
They're a fun bunch, and almost all much tougher than I am.

Bernie: I have a high enough regard for Angle's craftiness to believe that if his priority were getting things done, he could get more things done. The one thing I've learned over the years beyond question is that Ron Angle's priority is Ron Angle. I conceded that I agree with him much of the time. But his approach often is so counterproductive that I can't help but feel his heart is in the wrong place, and I'm kind of fed up with publicity stunts like this one. I realize that's out of character for me, so maybe I'm just having a bad day, and tomorrow I'll find it amusing. At the moment, I just find it annoying.
