Love the Casey Kasem reference! Very timely for me, actually, as I had to put my dog down today and could use a long distance dedication myself now. Her name was not Snuggles, btw...

I have this linked on my Myspace page. Barry and Levon make great halloween characters if you have a buddy that can appreciate the spirit as well. So, any story to how you stumbled upon this all of a sudden?

This is my first foray into multiple books at once, but lots of time spent on planes will do that to you. 1. I'm reading Lisey's Story by Stephen King as well. (Don't worry, other poster who's name escapes me), it does pick up soon. 2. The next is Betting Thoroughbreds by Steven Davidovitz. We own a racehorse and reading up on what makes them tick has been truly insightful (and a bit more profitable). 3. Winning Omaha/8 Poker by Mark Tenner and Lou Krieger. I like Hold'em well enough, but I really think that the poker world will be moving into mixed games, and Omaha Hi/Lo is showing up more in casinos. I think the true world champ is the person who takes the $50,000 HORSE title. I thought multiple books at once would make me finish none of them, but because of the varied topics, now I can choose what to read based on the mood I'm in. Mint!

I'd love these tourneys to come back...on any night but Tuesdays (bowling league dontcha know). Wil, your poker writing is how I discovered your site in the 1st place. Since finding it a couple years ago, the poker content has decreased, yet I still read every entry. You have introduced me to many topics, some familiar, some completely foreign, but I feel comfortable here. I've since passed the baton to my wife, who is a fledgling writer also. You have inspired her on a number of occassions. Thanks! P.S. Was the monkey present at the final table?

Guys, please tell me you remember M.U.S.C.L.E. men? My brother and I spent hours having matches with these guys on cross-country car trips. The cool ones always fell through the crack in the back seat though... http://www.i-mockery.com/minimocks/muscle/

Great reference Nathan! As I was reading the earlier comments, that's exactly what I was thinking to myself. As for weighing in on the booze of choice, I've recently been introduced to Irish Whisky. Jameson's has my attention now, both for taste and price. Wil, anxious to hear all the details...

I have to agree with the more recent posters. We can all assume he used something, but we don't know for sure what effect the stuff had on his performance, we just see what it did to his body. If he was the ONLY one to take stuff that is now considered against the rules, I'd share your opinion. But, what we don't know is who else took PEDs, and just happens to NOT be in the spotlight right now. I used to passionately despise Bonds, but have since decided it is easier for me to view the era as a whole as the Steroid Years, watch with the same amount of curiosity as Bonds goes for 756 as I do when Kobayashi is trying to eat 60 hot dogs in 12 minutes, and know that in 10-12 years, the record will be Arod's.

I'm just pissed that I had to read that entire post in order to find out that I misread the title. I thought it was called "10d10h" and I was really looking forward to hearing the bad beat story from last night's tourney...
