Susan, thanks for the shout out for TheCancerMosaic, but the site you linked to was not the one the Jennifer Rice commented on. The site that you linked to is one that was not created by the Lance Armstrong Foundation, but by HP as part of a branding strategy that sells laptops that are co-branded with the "LiveSTRONG" logo that the LAF has used with great success of late ($50 from each laptop sale goes to the LAF). If you submit a photo, HP will donate $1 to the LAF, to a maximum donation of $25,000. Now don't get me wrong, I like the HP site (tho I like the usability of mine better) and I support their efforts to "fill their" collage so that all $25,000 will get donated. However... is the site that I created (in a vaccum from the one that HP created - it was actually inspired by the "MillionDollarHomePage" site - one which helped a Brit raise $1 Million for his college costs) I wanted to find a way that people could (as you mention) get more back than just the knowledge that they had donated to a cause. I wanted to ensure that people could share a story of a loved one, that they could help others see that they are not alone in their fight. As a cancer survivor myself, one of the hardest things to get past is the fact that you feel that your situation may be unique... that no one else is going through what you are. I want the mosaic ($20 donation to the LAF gets you one 20x20 pix tile, click it and a 100x100 pix image, w/ as much write up as you want, then appears) to become a way for people to honor, remember, and help put a face on cancer. To re-personalize it... I will add panels as they fill, and I will keep the site live till we find a cure. Sorry for the long comment - Will
