That was great. I really appreciated what you said about taking away a project vs learning a technique or style. It totally resonated with me and put words to thoughts/feelings/frustrations I've had in the past. I was going through some of my scrapbooks the other day and I have one that I made in a class that I still hate. And the reason I hate it is because it is someone else's style (that I don't even like) with my photos in it. I am so much more careful now when selecting a class and after listening to today's podcast, I am even more clear how to avoid that error in the future! Great topic for a myriad of reasons. I enjoyed it!
Thank you so much!
It is awesome. I love the idea of seeing the whole year in one place.
Love seeing your beautiful #carvedecember stamps again! The challenge was so fun. So much talent and wonderful people playin along on IG. Can't wait for Dec! Thanks again.

For this one I drew a butterfly that I saw on the cover of a magazine and then first filled in the black, let it dry and afterwards filled in the yellow and oranges. My favorite so far! I also did a quote for fun that I will post later. Sometimes I can't stop! Thanks for stopping by! To follow my progress please come back often to root me on. Continue reading

As I mentioned yesterday I have decided to do something creative everyday of this year. I will choose a new challenge each month. To help me keep track of my progress, I've decided to use this Goal Tracking sheet from elisejoy.com that is perfect for my needs. I could have made something similar myself in Photoshop or PSE, but I loved the idea of supporting a small business owner and a mompreneur. Not to mention, it is wonderfully designed. As you can see, I am filling each circle with a different water-color pencil color in honor of my current challenge,... Continue reading

As I posted early last month, I carved a stamp everyday in December. Loving a daily creative challenge as I do, I thought it would be really fun to continue on with something throughout 2015. Being a little daunted by doing the exact.same.thing.every.day for a YEAR! I thought it might be better for me if I chose a different creative challenge each month. This way I could change up the intensity of the challenges when I needed a break yet still take on the huge challenge of doing something creative everyday. At some point late last year, I discovered Crystal... Continue reading

What better time than the New Year to start a Project Life album!? In honor of all the new Project Lifers out there and those starting a new album for the New Year, I thought I would publish a round up of some of my most popular & favorite Project Life posts with my best tips for getting started and staying caught up. My best tips for Staying Caught Up with Project Life. When I lived in China and couldn't easily print photos, I used this trick to stay caught up. In this post, I show how I documented a... Thank you! I'm glad you like them. It is fun and addictive. More to come!
Julie's book is great, isn't it? I've seen a few posts and shares online where people used only an exacto knife. It certainly can be done, but I don't think you'd have as much flexibility with creating your design. It is a great way to get started if you want to give it a try without buying any out of the ordinary supplies. Your comment about my faces is too kind! I'd like to try a daily sketch challenge again sometime but get further than 14 days! Good luck with your drawing.

I love making art and for as much as I love it, I haven't made enough time in my life to do it lately. Fortunately, I'm a docent for my kids' parent-run art program. Which means 5 times in a school year, I am trained by an artist on a project that I turn around and teach the class. Today we learned a little about Gustav Klimt and created a multi-media piece inspired by his amazing work. I was so inspired by the lecture and furthermore by doing the project that I decided I would like to be him. Or... Continue reading
