I was just there a couple months ago. It was glorious. My wife gave me that amused look that only a wife can give when I was geeking out over playing old-school games.

My wife has been playing DA:O... I've been still working my way through NWN2 and the expansion packs... I think I may have to steal her copy of DA:O as soon as she's done now though :)

Sounds like something my wife and I did last year before we moved from New Zealand back to the US. A massive storm blew in to the Auckland area - and we decided to go down to a beach near our house and see how high the storm surge was. We were not the only people who did so. So that makes me feel better looking back on it :) But there's something very impressive and humbling when the wind is blowing hard enough that you're able to lean into it and not fall over and there's no longer any beach visible because the water's up so high. Thanks for the great entry Wil - nice to have other memories sparked :)

Hm. The robot bit wore a little thin, but it was still worth 45 minutes of my life :)
