Time flies so fast! The capstone project is almost finishing, and we just need to make our final report and add all the insights and data we get from the survey that discussion with the client and customers. This is the week before the final product, and our target is to make the best product for our dense deck. I feel very excited about our capstone project. We had a meet with our client Uttan last Tuesday and he wants us to conduct a last round of the primary research so that we can get more consumer insights for launching the new product. This week, we have our second PR with Drew on Tuesday. We show him what we have done and the Slides that we present to the client. We got some good advice from him, such as how to make our power point become more efficient to deliver the information. Meanwhile, we also discuss about how is our project going and what difficulties we met before. We are going to finish our project at the one week before the final week. So far so good. Last week, we went to visit and do a presentation to our client in downtown. Based on what we discussed with Uttam about our survey results by the Email last week, we organized all the secondary research and detailed analysis of the survey. For example, we come up with a bunch of marketing method for launching the product at UC, such as event marketing with Sigma Sigma Carnival and flyers on desks and campus messaging. Last week, we work on survey analysis. We collected 103 responds from university students. We found some great and useful insights from the data and the comments from the survey. For example, the most respondents expected the product to cost $1, average was $3; Majority of respondents want to purchase in a store off campus; Only 14.5% of respondents use scent boosters and so on. After designing the survey, we sent it to the client and made the appointment to discuss the practicability of the survey questions. I think the question could be more specific when we communicate with the Client, because we want to make him feel satisfied about our works. Then we start our meeting. Before the creating survey questions, we decided to visit all the place that college students may go to laundry at, such as dorm facilities and laundromat. When we went to the city limits, which is a laundry and tanning place near the campus, the staff told us some students came here to do the laundry but it’s hard to say which one is a student. And we are surprised that doing laundry for students who live in dorm is pretty inconvenient because they have to carry heavy cloth and detergent to the only one small laundry room in the whole... This week our group work on making deeper in person interview and make the component graph of our Tide 3-in-1 product. Before we use the Qualtrics to make the questionnaires, we decided to do some in person interview first. We design some general questions, and it’s very important for us to design a better questionnaire. I interviewed 3 college student, and I found that all of them have the experience of using the communal laundry facility. All of them feel bad about using communal laundry facility. This week we focus more on our secondary research, we narrowed down to few different directions, such as industry research and amazon reviews. I worked on customer review’s research, which separate in three different product Tide-to-go pods, Unstoppables beads and Downy dryer sheets. Since the 3 in 1 regimen kit haven’t published in the market yet, I can only collect the reviews from those three products separately. I found that it’s difficult to find out the customers complain of the inconvenience of using products. Most of reviews were talking about the smell or the quality of the product. I doubt... I am excited for the first class of this semester--capstone, especially it’s my last semester. I feel a lot of motivation and pressure because our work have to make the client feel satisfied, which is the most tough part of the project.
