Here is my new hack, well, more than a hack, this is a personal tool that I want to share with you. Since I heard about RSS, long long time ago, I always had a personal homemade aggregator. It used to be very simple, a Perl script iterating over a list of feeds. Over the years, it gets more sophisticated, becoming something like a news discovery system. I did a minimal frontend work last week end, and today, I’m happy to put the result page public at storyfindr.com. This is what I read at breakfast, I hope you'll find this...

OK, so I have some news to share with you. Today, April 22nd, is my last day at SAY Media. Including 2 years at SAKK and 4 years at Six Apart headquarters in 548 4th street, this has been an incredible venture and terrific experience for me to work with all of smart people on numerous exciting projects, but I figured it's time to move on. I should have a lot to write, but instead i'll dump some memorable pictures :) Man, that's a lot of memories. I'll send everyone a big hug and thank you for making my days at Six Apart/SAY so much fun! P.S. I'll take a quick vacation next week, and will start a new gig...

There's been a bunch of stories lately about Ev Williams, co-founder of Blogger and Twitter upon the occasion of him leaving Twitter to do his own thing. Some are outright calling him an asshole. This Business Insider story of Noah...

That seems crazy. >That _is_ crazy. But here’s some anecdotal evidence that suggests going back to static publishing isn’t necessarily the answer. [I...

It looks like pagination is a new [marquee tag](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marquee_element). Now all hip websites like [Twitter](https://twitter.com), [Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/) got a fancy infinite scrolling. Scroll down more, you'll get more tweets, status updates or contents. Just for browsing stuff, scrolling with space key (or petting your shiny trackpad) is good enough for those lazy people. Currently TypePad provides only paginations on monthly archive pages like [http://sekimura.typepad.com/blog/2011/02/index.html](http://sekimura.typepad.com/blog/2011/02/index.html). But you can make your own infinite scroll page by following these steps: ** Step 1: Create a new "Page" ** Go to "Compose" page and select "New Page" from Compose pull down menu. ** Step 2:...

Today marks another epic milestone in the Tyre and West families. My sister is in the process of giving birth as I type this!! And of course, in typical Lisa style, she has chosen to experience this for the third time in a cabin, in the middle of nowhere in Franconia, MN which has a 15amp electrical system on the fritz and is therefore heated by wood fires (last I heard it was up to 60 degrees!). She will enjoy this among the company of close friends and family while submerged in a birthing tub, with no drugs, a midwife,...

My daughter (Penelope) is learning her letters. One of our favorite activities is to use the built-in say command in the OS X terminal: she types in a word, presses [return], and the computer speaks. To make this easier, I...

Today was Six Apart's last day. It became Say Media this afternoon. And end of an amazing company, and a start of a new one. A colleague said Six Apart was sort of like college. We all worked and played together, and over the years, we started bumping into alum around the city working at new ventures. We are still a group, and are having a big alum gathering later in January to all come together. Current Six Aparters will be with Say Media, but many of those I have worked with, especially from the very early years, have already...

So we had a number of options. She could take my name. Not down with that. Fair enough. I could take her name. No, thank you. Also fair. We could give the kid one name or the other. The odd...

I have several updates but letting them bake before I share them just yet. Quite a few exciting changes on the horizon, and I've been focusing on those. One thing I do know is that Tesla and I will be heading to Tokyo for a good chunk of December. While she'll be out of school, the plan is to immerse her in Japanese, and have general Tokyo fun. It's been long since I've been back, so I'm really looking forward to this. And it'll be more than my usual business trip week, so I can really relax and enjoy. p.s....
