Today I'm delighted to be Stop #11 on the blog tour for Sujata Shah's new book, Cultural Fusion Quilts. When Sujata emailed me in November and asked me to participate, I didn't hesitate. I've been following her blog, The Root... Continue reading

Not much sewing has gone on lately as Molly was here for the last two weeks. A number of things fell into place to allow her to extend her stay over the Thanksgiving holiday and we made the most of... Continue reading

Yes, muffin time!! I've had a number of comments about it recently which always make me laugh. If you've been reading Be*mused for a while, you probably remember that each year I bring the breakfast muffins to our annual family... Continue reading

I love your fabric choices for the Aunt's quilt. I have used the wrong side of a fabric for an applique background and it turned out wonderful ~ try it! I was tempted to join Thimbleanna's QAL, but I have too much on my plate right now. :-(

If you're a blogger, you probably recognize the scenario. You're working along on several projects, life gets busy for a few weeks and when you finally start thinking about writing a post, nothing seems like *enough* after your longer-than-expected absence.... Continue reading

It's September! The 9th, already. There's been a little chill in the air the last few mornings. The regularity of cooler weather's arrival never ceases to amaze me. Warm weather in spring is always anyone's guess but early September seems... Continue reading

The last time I wrote about my Trip Around the World challenge project, I had just removed a couple of rounds because I didn't think the browns were working as I had envisioned. Since then, I've added another 4 rounds... Continue reading

Several posts ago I shared this sample block that I had drafted and stitched up to test my proportions and templates. At the end of the post, I noted that I wasn't happy with the background fabric color (Moda Bella... Continue reading

This is exactly what it looks like. After speeding through on my Trip Around the World Challenge and smugly waiting for the next set of instructions to be issued, I've been playing around on the design wall with a variety... Continue reading

Deep in the way-back drawers, I have a pile of these LeMoyne stars. They're many years old, tucked away after I made several quilts in the same color range and eventually tired of it. If you're a long-time quilter, you'll... Continue reading

I am totally obsessed with this project. But now I have my work cut out for me. While I enjoyed the wild ride of the smaller rounds, now each choice has more consequences. More squares per round means more time... Continue reading

It's been a busy last couple of weeks, but I'm back in the sewing room now, once again auditioning and moving things around. Our son and daughter-in-law were here for 10 days and we were busy with day trips, evening... Continue reading

Did you ever have a Ouija board? It came with a floating pointer, over which you lightly placed your hands. If you were patient (and happened to be at a teen sleepover), the pointer would start to slowly move and... Continue reading

Lots has transpired since my last post, but since it's been so long since I've written about a new project, I'm starting with that. If this looks a little familiar, I'll say at the outset that, yes, these were leftover... Continue reading

Ok. So it's time to stop whining about what I can't do for the time being and focus on what I can. This project is so intense in color and design that I've found I need a little break from... Continue reading

A while ago, I stumbled on the Etsy shop of Sarah Young, a British artist who, among many things, screen prints teatowels with her charming artwork. The towels are printed on 100% cotton and as she suggests on her website,... Continue reading
