Actually Shea played lots of CB when he went on the Spanish tour with the Adidas generation players, I believe his partner in the back was the BOSS, Shea has size at 6'3 with lots of pace.

Ream has pace, more than Gooch but that is not saying much. I believe out of the 3 towers (Gooch, Gonzo, Goodman) Gooch is the slowest one...I just realized our towers names start with "GO".

I believe Lichaj has said that he doesn't feel comfortable playing left, that idea has already been put out to him.

1) I just don't see Dempsey being a forward with Jozy, maybe Dempsey by himself. 2)Having Holden wide right just because of his crossing is a disservice to his all around game. 3) Gooch and Goodson are too slow of a pair, BB has always gone with a combination of a 6'4 and a 6'1 CBs a tower and a distributor.

I don't think is true rule of BBs is more like an excuse to not play players that he feels are not ready for the NATS

when you put it that way, it feels depressing. maybe someone will have a breakout season.

I don't believe Chandler is even eligeble to play so your odds are a safe bet.

I see Argentina is not fielding all of their starters, there is a quite a few fringe players in that list. is the US nats doing the same? probably not, we just don't that luxury, should we go with the same starting 11 as always? I'm not too sure Jozy is comfortable anywhere, but I do give him credit for his hard work, it was a nice run on his play against Carragher in the England game but to be a good striker you need to finish and/or have good luck where the ball rolls to, which he doesn't seem to have neither of them.

think of chandler as a bigger, younger version of DOLO, his tackling is a bit wild, a la Jones style.

I agree 100% with your assessment. I think for the future the NATS are developing a good corp of center backs, now, if we could only could say the same thing for our left back issues.

Dempsey likes to play the wing because he likes to see the ball at his feet as much as possible, hence, why he prefers the midfield instead of a forward spot, as to him being a prototype winger, he is not, he doesn't have the pace to last a full 90, his cealing is about the 75 mark, if you look at some of our NAT games when a forward is subed out is for another mid and Dempsey moves on top for the final run.

Hi Vince, I remember Gooch always been a lumbering tough CB that could play a full 90's his only knock on his game was that he was a terrible distributor from the back, always missing the midi and instead going for a long ball to the forwards. In his last NAT game that I saw him play he would rather pass to another fullback to start the distribution process.

I saw his last game against Chile and I thought he did well. I see a lot of special qualities in the kid, sometimes you have to see beyond the occasional lost pass. He may not be the strongest midi but he has an eye for the final pass to a forward.

unfortunately, the JT type of a player are a dime a dozen in spain so for him to have a change there he would have to have something extra in his repertoire which at this time he doesn't.

I think Ream is the future, is he better than Edu right now? I don't think so, not yet, Edu may have not played CB as much but his distribution is excellent and his defense is also solid, position may not be up to par, also, Edu is way faster than Ream. I just don't think BB will have both Goodman and Gooch at the same time they are both too slow, he needs a faster 6'2 player to complement is 6'4 tower, whomever that may be of the two.

i was also wondering whom is this "suave" player but you hit the nail in the head. rico and suave have one thing in common...they are both "one hit wonder" we need to move on.

yeap, I think Goodson is way better than some people give him credit. he is the same hight as gooch, about the same speed, gooch is stronger but goodson is tons better with his service. I put Chandler because he is showing a quality of a winger we seldom seen, true, he hasn't played for us yet, just have that gut feeling that he is going to be spacial. as for Edu, he is faster than gooch, and also a lot better distribution, and he is known not to commit dumb fouls. i think the USA need to start to control the dempo of the game, rather than just be reactive to it.

JT is not having a great season and with the emergence of Holden and MIX he has kind of fallen a bit off the radar, same thing for Gomez.
