One thing my mother always asks me for is a stash of birthday cards. She sends more birthday cards than anyone I know :) I love this stamp set its an oldy but goody. Actually its one of the first stamp sets I ever bought. Originally my set was on wood but I got rid of the wood as soon as I could. Now that I have everything on cling I realize exactly how heavy the old wood sets were. They also took up twice as much room. Now that I live in a dollhouse with no storage having light... So this is my first try at three step stamping and stamping off to get lighter colors. But I guess we all have to start somewhere. Took me a few tries to get everything lined up right. This is where I think one of those Misti products would probably work well. I will keep working on my technique with the multi step stamps. Cause practice makes perfect right? That and the fact I'm heading to my friend's house on Sunday to play with her Misti before I think of buying one. My stash at home in the doll house is... Continue reading

Well I'm happy to report that after 5 crazy years I am finally back to stamping! Its going slow with getting the creative juices going but I will make it. First thing I need to do is design and make a new stamping table setup. You see the new place where I live is little more than a doll house. A dining table and couch take up most of the first floor and the bed and dresser take up almost all the second floor. That means I need to come up with something that will take up very little space... Continue reading

I'm happy to say I have finally graduated my massage therapy program as of Monday and have my diploma in hand! Whoo hoo. Now off to my lymphedema program in Florida so that I can specialize in lymphedema and work toward helping patients with this horrible condition. Yesterday, I finally finished packing up my house and left on my first leg to Florida. I'm taking a leisurely trip getting there. My first leg bring me to my friend Danny's house in New Jersey. Its been way too long since we have been able to spend fun time together. I'm having... Continue reading

Well I am very sorry I havent posted anything in so long. This past year has been so wild. We moved into our townhouse and it took 6 months to settle in and get everything unpacked. But in the meantime I began massage therapy school. Now I am at the end of massage therapy school (7 days left to be exact) and we are moving again with our moveout day being May 25. This year has been such a tough one. I'm hoping that this next move is the last move until we head for Florida in 4 years. That... Continue reading

I had just enough time today to make one card and take some time out for relaxation. Today I decided to try something outside my normal box. I had a half sheet of SEI scrapbook paper leftover from a page I had done and I loved the butterfly on the page. I loved the flowers on the page as well. So instead of using the paper as the background of my card, I decided to cut out the images I loved on the paper and create a card around it. I love that the images have a little bling to... The other day I went looking thru my box where I keep my cards on hand ready to ship out at a moments notice and I saw that although I have a good 15 birthday cards in there, not one of them was very masculine. I guess that comes from having a family full of females! So here is my attempt at doing a more masculine card with all the feminine stamps I have in my stash. I used Versamark to create a watermark with my Baroque Motifs set on the basic gray cardstock, then I stamped the sentiment with... Continue reading

Today I didn't have school so I went to my scrappin space to clean and organize, but the best laid plans and all that... Well I put together a large pile of scraps and ended up sitting down and playing with my stamps. I hope you enjoy these cards. Click on the pictures for a larger view Unfortunately I have no idea what the name of the DSP is since I got it from the scrap pile but I do know that it is SU. The Cardstock is Soft Sky, Kiwi Kiss and Chocolate Chip. The ribbons are Bashful Blue... Continue reading

Well we are having a one of the first real storms of the winter here in Central Mass. We had a couple of minor storms earlier in the season but this one is bringing lots of wet snow and winds. Poor Coco doesn't even want to go out to do his business. School got cancelled so I had the morning to take a pic of a layout I did this past weekend at ScrapQueen's crop. On Valentines Day this year DD and I went to Chinatown to have Dim Sum and walk around. In all my years of living in... Continue reading

I had major stampers block the other night. I wanted to make some cards with patterned paper. I brought out my binder with old layouts from Sheetloads of Cards. I used the October 2007 layout and then changed it up a little bit. For this first card I used Kiwi Kiss and Gray cardstock, SU DSP, Kiwi Kiss ink, Ribbon was from Michaels and the butterfly stamp was from TT and the sentiment is from CTMH. I added some Diamond Stickles to the gray DSP to match the bling on the ribbon. For this second card I used Soft Sky,... Continue reading

I was remounting my Stampin Up Pocket Silouettes stamps to go from wood to cling when I noticed I had never made a card with this set. So I pulled out my paper and started stamping away and playing. So here are the two cards I did this evening. This first card I made for my friend Jessie. You see yesterday I had to rush my DD to the hospital with heart palpatations and tachycardia. Unfortunatley in the hoopla of getting out of the house, I forgot to let the dog out and feed him. Needless to say we left... Continue reading

I've always loved stationary since I was a little kid. Before the days of computers and email and twitter, I would love buying new stationary and writing letters to my grandmother and my friend Rob (who I now happen to be married to). Even though now adays I tend to text or email everyone, I still long for those days when I would put pen to paper and pour out the days events. Recently due to finanacial difficulties one of my best friends in Vermont was forced to let both the phone and internet go. So I decided to make... Continue reading

After a couple of posts of Cricut cards I thought I should change things up and bring out my stamps. This weekend I finally cleaned and organized my scrap area for the first time since I moved into the new place. I gotta admit I really miss my old scrap studio in the old house but thats about all I miss about that house. From what I heard the old house flooded again so my studio would have been under over a foot of water so glad I moved out when I did. Its funny how when you clean out... Continue reading

I am really loving this Cricut Wild Card Cartridge. It's very versitile. I can see myself using this cartridge to not only make cards but to embellish scrapbook pages. Today I found out that a friend of mine just got home from having a surgery so i wanted to make her a get well card to cheer her up. I used a 12x12 sheet and used the fit to page function and cut the envelope first. Using this calculation, cut the other parts of the card. The card itself ended up being a good size card (approximately the size of... Continue reading

I thought I would make my mom a Thanksgiving card this year. Since I finally learned how to use my nestabilities (thank goodness my neighbor is never home!) after almost a year of playing with them and cursing at them, I decided to use them for this card. I decided I didn't want to emboss but just cut with the nesties, so I was back to the drawing board. Two hours later I had my black and white cardstock cut. LOL Sometimes it just takes me longer. Especially when the technology is more human than electronic. For this card, I... Continue reading

Love this layout. I got the kit at Scrapbook Nook in Bellowes Falls, VT. I used a pic from 2001 when my DD was just a little girl. It was taken at her daycare and I have always loved this pic so much that I am glad I finally get to use it in a layout. Enjoy! Continue reading

So here is the last layout that I did at the crop up in Brattleboro, VT. This layout definately needs some beautiful pictures of my little family put on it, because our nest is really blessed lately. I love the paper piecing and font that they used for this layout. The "T" in nest is split between the two pages. You can get this layout kit at CKC. Enjoy! Continue reading

Let me begin by saying I have a 13 year old, and like most 13 year olds, she has a difficult time knowing when to clean her room. Some days I feel like a broken record. So after thinking about it I came up with this solution; a door hanger that will tell her when her room is clean and when it needs to be looked after. For this project I used three cricut cartridges: Tag, Bags Boxes and More and A Walk in My Garden, and Street Sign font cartridge. For the CLEAN side: For the door hanger I... Continue reading
