What to do on a beautiful sunny day like today? Bake!! I was at the grocery store this morning and I saw and bought a delicious looking Boysenberry's jam... I thought right away that I would have made a Crostata alla Marmellata, which is basically a tart filled with jam. It can be filled with an...

Chocolate Hazelnut Cake
Hands down, my favorite season is fall. I love the changing leaves, the subtle chill in the air, and the comforting feel of being cozy and warm in my favorite sweater. But something happened this year. I think it was the severity of winter. The endless winter weather storm warnings, the huge m...

Rainbow Delight
We recently had the most stunning rainbow. It was actually a double rainbow, but I didn't get a picture of that. I took a video of it! But then my neighbor and I sat and talked about poop so I figured I better not share that. Its so hard to see, but under the purple (indigo?) layer are t...

Desserts for the Deserving
The need can be anything from a new baby to a hospital stay to the loss of a loved one. The desire on our part is the same, to make life easier for the recipient. To give them a gift of a warm, comforting, homemade meal. When my church reached out and asked if I could bring a meal to a famil...
Well, I cant say I agree with anything you have written here... as a matter of fact I think the opposite. But thank you for taking the time to share your perspective! I hope that one day you will find that the Lord, our God, is the One true Savior, and accept Him into your life.
The Permanent Conversion
I may be revealing my naive world view here, but I am feeling compelled to share some thoughts. I was raised Catholic. I never had a relationship with Jesus. I believed that if I was a good enough person I would be going to Heaven. I have seen a few blogs over the past few years about peo...

What I Never Wanted to Say
This is the post I never thought I would have to write. See, I was a cocky mommy. I had the whole "three kids" thing down pat. I could get things done during the day and still be with my kids and still make dinner for the family and not fall asleep standing at the kitchen sink at 8:06pm...

Fathers Day Cookies
Have you ever heard that saying, "If its not hard, its not worth doing?" Ok. So maybe thats not the saying. Maybe the saying is "If somethings hard then its not worth doing." And maybe that saying was on a popular cartoon TV show and maybe is was originally said by Homer J. Simpson. And maybe...
Hi Karen!
I made TWO versions of this bar. The first version I made is Marthas, and the only change I made was to the caramel mixture, on which I substituted six milky way bars. (there is a picture of the twodifferentbars in the post)
The second version is the bigger, brownie bar. That is the recipe that I have listed. In that recipe I used a bag of caramels and two milky way bars.
Hope that helps!

I PROMISE you that you cannot taste any banana flavor. If you would feel more comfortable, go ahead and decrease the amount used to 1/2 a banana. I just know you will love it!
Thin Mint Cake {Daisy Cake Tutorial}
I wanted to do a super quick post to show you how to make the Daisy Cake. I got sidetracked. Big time. See, I thought I would make the frosting slightly green so the daisy would show up better and then I thought I should make it peppermint if it was green and then I thought I should make a ch...
Samantha... this is completely my fault! I am so sorry. I had the wrong measurement on the baking powder... it should have read 2 tsp NOT 2 tbsp. That is was the centers deflated... my apologies!!
Sugar Cookie Daisy Cake
Its all about the cake stand. My MIL often listens to my random rants about things that I am obsessed with. I wouldn't blame her if she just tuned me out most of the time. Luckily for me though, she listened extra good the day I went off on some random tirade about how I needed to own every c...
