Moral decay all around. A culture dripping with lustful ways. Everything has to be sexy in a society given to animal like instincts. Less than human actions seems to be all around us. We live in a culture that sells... Continue reading

So you just gonna sit there as culture passes by at 7500 RPMs. Gonna let it all blur into one big blob of nothing, being tossed by this and that circumstance. We can make excuses about why our life is... Continue reading

Hello Paul, Thanks for the questions and opportunity to connect. I am the founding pastor at the grove and it is amazing to participate in all that God is doing. Our main vision statement is: Helping people move from darkness to light. Some of our dna statements that we also use are: May your roots run deep. We are here to bless and serve Boone County. I do believe in the Trinity with all of my heart! Essential to our faith. Essential to the advancement of the kingdom and the making of disciples. I am associated with the Assemblies of God. Our church is non denominational but the AG holds us accountable. I am also accountable to my advisory council that is establish as part of our current governance at the grove. I am also accountable to a few local pastors with whom i have great relationship. I have two mentors in my life. I meet with them on a regular basis, I am also accountable to them. The scripture says that as a pastor I can not lord my authority over anyone, that is how I lead the grove. not here to lord but to serve and advance the kingdom by the power of the Spirit. I am here to make disciples. I work in unity with my staff and advisors as the Spirit leads us. I am not for sale, I am here to do God's work and to please him not man. So all of that is a unique balance and I try my hardest to be diligent in these matters. I do believe in social justice. In our short history we have a great track record in taking action in social justice. I am currently working on building a team to work full time on social justice efforts at home and abroad. Thanks for connecting. I hope these answers have helped. Brian Phillips

It is very challenging to devote yourself to advancing the kingdom. It is upside down. It is difficult, it is offensive to many. You will be persecuted and when you are rejoice! I heard a great Rabbi say that once.... Continue reading
