StarLitStudio®, LLC was formed in 2001. Cooking, cleaning, running the house, maintaining the online store, the yard, the kids and the very dear husband consume my day. I sleep well. Oh, and I play with paper, make cards, crochet, knit, and alter stuff.

Hi Stevie! Thank you for your comment! I used Bernat Maker Home Dec yarn, this pattern: https://tinyurl.com/43kdhma5 - click on the blue bar that reads, "download free pattern". There is a video for this rug too here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8pUOuJ2Wo8. For the screen insert under the metal vent cover, I measured the opening, and cut a piece of chipboard and a piece of screening (like what is used on doors and windows) to size. I then cut a smaller rectangle out of the chipboard one, creating basically a 1/2 inch wide chipboard frame. I adhered this to the screening using foam tape. This was inserted into the vent opening, and adhered into place using foam tape around the perimeter of the chipboard frame. The framed screening sits recessed, on top of the big open vent at the subfloor level, then the pretty metal cover sits on top of the screen layer. If something falls through the metal cover, it is simply lifted up and the item is rescued. The chipboard frame anchoring the screen in place is to prevent the user from lifting the pretty metal vent, going to retrieve the precious item, and poking the screen out of position (it's such a small opening and this would have been inevitable) and watching the precious item disappear into oblivion. :)

Thank you Jan!! I would recommend this link to Artisaire regarding the technique I use to create wax seals: https://artisaire.reamaze.com/kb/wax-stamps/how-do-i-use-my-wax-stamp and my surface is a non-stick mat. I use their adhesive backs sold in packs of 50. Diameters vary depending on your needs. For inspiration, I follow the hashtag #waxstamp on Instagram. As with any craft, it's practice, practice, practice. The upside is any seal you deem unworthy can be remelted.

Hi Sandi - Yes the machine stitching was created using a 30 year-old sewing machine that I've had since I was first married. Most sewing machines will sew through cardstock/patterned paper - I use a denim needle and Gutermann upholstery thread. Thank you - Cindy
Thank you so much Patt!! What I like best about this die are how the frames cover up any mistakes I made near the edges of the squares.
@ Chuck Higgins - Freezer drawers are SubZero made in Madison, Wisconsin. Ice maker is a Scotsman - SubZero ice makers at the time of this remodel had a laundry list of repair issues. The Scotsman ice maker has not given us any grief. If I were to re-do this remodel today I would use these same appliances.

Hi Susie! It is all paper - Mr. and Mrs. Mouse are from the 12x12 Vintage Type patterned cardstock (Doodlebugs Flea Market line), and the wood heart is a sticker from the Icon sheet. Sentiment is from the This That 12x12 Sticker sheet. Thank you Susie! Cindy

Thank you Pam! I did get a MISTI and it is a fantastic tool - true to its name!
Hi Kathy! The procedure is called Trigger Release. I need to see how big the sewing holes are in the new Memory Box dies that are designed for felt - I have pulled out my DMC Pearl Cotton skeins size 5, in a variety of shades...but curious to know if this size will work or if I need size 3. Will know more tomorrow and thank you Kathy!
Hi Kathy! Ranger's facility is about an hour drive from me so the shipments arrive quickly, and I am very thankful for that! October Afternoon at this time is unfortunately no longer producing the 8x8 pads. Thanks Kathy!

Hi Gail! They are adhered with scor-tape, and one can just adhere another pad in its place once the pad is used up. If the user is going to have these in their purse or someplace other than a desk top I add a bottom flap to the construction. Will do a future post showing this and thank you!

I have ordered everything to make this butterfly card from your store except the jewels. Do you sell this jewel flourish? Hi Mary - this was a Prima Say It In Crystals rhinestone flourish - the item # is 550561 if you can locate it in a online store with back inventory - Prima has unfortunately discontinued this line. Thank you and sincerely, Cindy
