When you wrote of being cold while waiting for the new wood stove, i was going to comment that you needed to be preggers. Nothing like being pregnant to keep you warm :-)

cool! I could use a book to help me use my scraps up. I hate to throw anything away which may make me look a bit like a hoarder!

That's awesome! I love the Beastie Boys although that song always reminds me of an episode of Who's the Boss... Have a great weekend!

I love co housing, how it brings people together. So different from my neighborhood's HOA which has people competing for the greenest perfectly mowed lawn. My husband served on the board trying to build a sense of community, unfortunately the idea scares some of our neighbors... One day we will have our own little homestead inviting people in to learn and share.

I think raising your own meat is the best way, I look forward to updates on this adventure and who gets added to the family. I dream of my own homestead so this is a wonderful introduction to how it really works with a family.

I love your photos. I agree its good to keep traditions in times of change it keeps everyone grounded. For our family we have nonstop birthday action, we almost think of fall as birthday season! The big days 8/26, 9/9, 9/15, 9/20, 9/23, 10/2, 10/14x2, 10/21 and 11/7, these are all the family birthdays. Luckily some are out of state/country otherwise I might hide for a portion of september!! Now off to mail my nephew a birthday card....

You are fantastic! Does your milk boil heating it to 180? I have tried to get my milk to that temp but it boils right on over the big pan, the even bigger pan and I am out of pans. I have to stop at 160, maybe it is an elevation thing. Have a great day!

Beautiful photos, I love playing and creating in the kitchen. This week my daughter harvested the rhubarb and we made syrup together for the yummy soda treat. After she picks it the huge leaves become hats for her to wear. Sadly it has been too hot to bake bread, I bought our first store loaf probably since last summer... Enjoy your day!
