I am always excited this time of year and not just because of Spring, flowers and butterflies. I love new catalogs and Stampin'Up! does a lovely one with new products coming in June. I love the preorder, but especially this year as there was more to choose from. The new in colors are subdued colors, but do fit well with the colors we have. I have a card for you to view today, made using a new nautical stamp set, new designer paper and one of the new in colors. This card has a Night of Navy card base and... Continue reading

Happy St. Patrick's Day...it is a cold bright cheery kind of morning. We have not yet entered Spring, unless it is to be a cold one into a hot summer. By end of day it will be warmer than it is now. Are you Irish, or at least part Irish. I am Scottish, Irish, a little Welsh, and a wee bit French. What a combination, what about you? I haven't posted yet again, in quite a while. I get busy and forget, then a day goes into a week, well you know how it is. I have a coffee card... Continue reading

Hello February, you are finally here. This is the month of Daffodils and Tulips, Crocus and Hyacinths, and let's don't forget the robins and that pesky groundhog. Tomorrow he comes out to see his shadow or not, telling us if we are going to have more winter. I know a lot of you are colder than we are here in South Texas, but January was colder than usual this year, gray, rainy and windy. The blooming cedar trees have a lot of us sick...Cedar Fever....So looking forward to Spring. Along with birthdays, there is Valentines day approaching. I made a... Continue reading

Have you ever stamped some images and then thought, what am I going to do with this? Well that is where I was yesterday. I had plebty to do so I put the images down and walked away. I got a large package mailed, full of goodies all wrapped up. I spent the late afternoon making the candy again using dark chocolate instead of white per my daughters request. Well it did not turn out so well. The dark chocolate I used had too my oil in it. After sitting in the fridge, I set it out...it was hard. After... Continue reading

We are counted down to seven days of shopping left until Christmas...are you ready? I spent all day yesterday finishing up the tree. I was so tired, I could not do anything else...but I am here with a cute project, a much needed gift for a December birthday. I still have projects to do, including my candy. I may get that done late this afternoon...my only package needs to go out tomorrow. Happy Birthday to all born in December. My daughter Amy was born 36 hours after Christmas, so we always are celebrating this time of year. The only thing... Continue reading

Hello, today is going to be a beautiful day, no snow, just lovely weather for December. Saturday was a busy day, with the Christmas tree getting some decorations, more soup and Spring rolls being made. The room was merry with tissue flying as ornaments came out of hiding. How about your Saturday, did you shop, make candy or cookies, or just chill? One of the first ornaments taken out of my tote was this handmade one with a photo of my grandson. I love this ornament, it is only about 12 yrs old. Every year the cats get excited when... Continue reading

Happy Saturday...counting down to Christmas. I made it back, but not before midnight. Friday was spent trying to stay warm and snuggling with my Tigger...he just wanted to sleep in my lap and he never does that. I did get to the kitchen, however did not start another batch of candy. No worries as I haven't run out of time. My chair is set up to start on the tree which I will do once I leave the computer. It is not new for me to do things until around 2am as I am a night person. I went into... Continue reading

Happy Friday...sometimes my favorite day of the week. It is a cold and blustery north wind that is blowing. I had a great Thursday making a pot of vegetable sausage soup, Italian bread and yes, if you read the last post...candy. Soup is always easy and the bread recipe is even easier...but the candy recipe was too easy for words. Hope you enjoy drooling to the end. But first...my three angels??? Peace on earth at least for a few hours. Daisy...Tigger...and.... Fluffy...the two girls with a much younger Tigger are for the only time lined up here sleeping on a... Continue reading

Happy mid December...There are 12 days until Christmas morning and I find myself behind. Tree is not decorated but has been up since the day after Thanksgiving. That's okay as the only ones to look at it are my husband and myself and it is beautiful with the gleaming lights. My shopping is limited and things I have made likewise. Everywhere there are sounds of Christmas, the television is over run with dime novel Christmas shows that all have the same plot and endings, not much content. But this soesn't deter me from enjoying what should be a time of... Continue reading

It is a great day, Thursday will be a warm 76 unlike last weeks high of 56. I really love the warm days, but accept the cool ones. I am finally back...long time no see....last week was Thanksgiving and I had children and grandchildren for a week. It was a busy and full house, lots of laughter, lots of good food most of which I did not have to cook. I did get some crafting time. I have been working on my photography and decided I am still not very good at it, but I will keep trying. Check out... Continue reading

Wonder colors, Wonderful smells...almost nothing compares to fall weather and a cup of hot coffee. No matter how you like it, it somehow finds a way to sooth the soul. Happy Wednesday...a hump day for sure this week. This card has a medium gold card base and is matted with designer papers and white cs. My new pad of 6 x 6 fall paper, love the earth tones and the greens. So many places are green this time of year, but fall is always depicted as brown, orange, gold, etc. I used some new and some old Stampin'Up! stamps and dies... We are finally cooling off and it is amazing how much better I feel. Except for the mosquitoes, the world is a happy place here. Night before last we were 59...so nice. The rain is on it's way back. I have another good story. It was at least two years ago that I lost some metal dies that accompanied my prize coffee cup die. It was the sleeve, cup top and several others in a separate envelope. For days I looked high and low to no avail.I finally decided they must have slipped into the trash can as I had... Continue reading

It's been a long time since I felt I had time to write a post. Days come and go, working hard to fill my Etsy Shop . I managed to see most of the Ryder Cup, golf between the USA and the Europeans. It was amazing in some ways and disappointing in others. So my days are filled for sure. The weather is really wet for September, the temperatures mild in comparison to years past. I am on my tenth year here in Texas and haven't figured out what the weather will do, perhaps I never will. Today I have... Continue reading

Summer is here but there are still some schools in session. If you are one of those moms who has children still in school, here is the card for you! Whether you drink coffee or tea, there is always room for one more card like this. Sending cards is a lost art, but giving them isn't. It is always so nice to walk up and greet a friend with a card in hand for a friend. You never know when you just might lift a spirit! The nicest prize I ever won during a Coffee Lovers Blog Hop was the... Continue reading

Happy Father's Day to all who celebrate. Today will be a quiet day, unless the storms make some noise. It was clear earlier but the clouds are getting heavy and rain on it's way (I hope). Father's Day was always a special day at our house, my father was special, well aren't most dad's to daughters? I made this card for Father's Day earlier in the year, one of my favorites, I love the 50's theme. Men wore hats, elegant clothes and the cars were just like this one, before color made a splash. This card uses mostly card stock... Continue reading

Happy June...I seem to visit and post less this year. It is not because I am not interested, but because there don't seem to be enough hours in my day to do everything I need and want to do. We have just started a new year and catalog for Stampin'Up. I am still a demonstrator but do not hold events any more. My Etsy shop has spurts of selling with Etsy throwing more crap at us. Etsy has gone through so many changes and is now becoming the new eBay, increasing fees, charging monthly fees, and making it more difficult... Continue reading

The first day of May...this day has always held a place in my heart. It is, was my dad's birthday. It is cloudy and looks like a rainy kind of day, but the sunshine is till in my heart. I worked in the garden for almost 4 hours yesterday. It did not go fast as alas I am not able to stand for long periods of time. So with my walker and my wheelchair with standing in between I managed to prune, water, and fertilize two large rose bushes and one smaller on. I planted Daylilies and got the area... Another month is almost gone and you might wonder what I have been doing, certainly not sharing. I am sorry, time just gets away from me. I enjoy short naps as my Tigger comes and gets me out of my craft room in the afternoon wishing me to hold him while he sleeps. I am happy to oblige as he is such a sweet kitty. On the other hand I lose work time, but I am managing to sty so busy. I have done ever so many cards and things since last I posted. Friday I pulled out some stamps... Continue reading

Happy Easter everyone! Nothing says Easter and Spring like flowers in bloom and the birds singing. It started out a cool Saturday, but I potted up new plants anyway. It turned out to be a beautiful and warm afternoon. We went with Amy to her favorite garden store and bought more plants. We have been blessed with lots of rain, so the flowers are really lovely. In the craft world, I love to do flowers and the ever special Daffodil is an Easter favorite. This card has a soft green card base. I used the new Stampin'Up! Daffodil stamps with... Continue reading

Top of the morning to everyone...Happy Saturday! I have been watching March Madness...for those who are clueless...the NCAA Basketball tournaments are going on and it is really mad this year...lots of seed going down! I am having a hard time working as I don't want to miss a game. A Shout out to my team, the #3 Seeded Texas Tech Red Taiders who escaped the first round and play tonight against Florida. Good luck Raiders, as always my Irish eyes will be watching. I made a card for St. Patrick's Day, but alas this one did not sell...oh well I... Continue reading

I thought I would give you a look at some of the things I have been working on. Today's look is at the latest garland I made for spring. I get a lot of people looking for blue garlands, so this is my latest blue, a flower garland sold in my Etsy shop. Unfortunately there is only one in this color as I have used the last of this fabulous card stock. Photo First: There are 9 feet of these beautiful flowers...and I love the leaves. This is a machine stitched garland so if cared for may be used over... Continue reading

Yes, I am really posting...sorry for the long absence. I had a long fall and winter, but have gotten through and am much better. Thanks to everyone who has checked on me and sent messages showing that in blog land there are real people and they care. I have crafted while away trying to keep busy at least when I could, filling my Etsy shop. I finished this card yesterday and as always, I love sunflowers. I used a kraft card base and matted with white and a designer die cut frame. This paper is new this spring from Stampin'Up!... Continue reading

Gray and cool days are here, although that doesn't always mean cold. We have had the air conditioner on all week...it's warm and muggy most afternoons.I really don't mind the gray, the sun usually pops out late afternoon. So how about you, what is the weather doing in your part of the world today? I made a card that should warm your heart, if only for the moment. This Christmas card has a green card base and is matted with a white embossed tree background. I was tempted to color some of the background but wanted a white background so... Continue reading

We woke to cold and a hint of mist in the air. Last week it was almost 90....who would believe it? I am late as usual starting on Christmas although I have already made and sold quite a few Christmas garlands. Seems like decor is most popular and is taking my time away from cards. I have my first winter card here for you to view. I used my favorite bluebird stamp, but the colors are not quite what I wanted, so maybe I will have to try it again! The card base is medium blue and it is matted... Continue reading
