Since I posted last Friday, so much happened in my world. The most notable it snowed all day, January 10, 2021. Around 4" fell in this part of Texas, last snow, Christmas of 2017 just about an inch. I haven't seen that much snow since leaving Colorado in 2009. It was really quite thrilling until Sunday night when all had melted and I woke with dry heaves, terrible dizziness and other issues I won't describe. It seems once ever year, although last year it was twice, I get something, don't know what that leaves me useless. I managed to sleep... Continue reading

Hi Lisa, I came out of my shell...LOL! Actually I have been so...busy that I quit blogging in October of 2019. Decided I needed to take a little time for myself so I started January 2021 by posting once a week. If I find more time, I will post more often, but it is really hard! Thanks for caring and commenting. enjoy your January!

Hello again, I am back with a weekly post. There is so much going on in the world that I thought it important to shift negative thoughts to positive ones. It is easy to allow ones self to center ones life with negative thoughts if you stay reading the media that is out there. I believe instead of allowing the world to shape you, you should allow your life to shape the world. What do you dwell on each day. Because of my age and the difficult things I have been through in my life, I live day to day... Continue reading

It's been a long year, yes I know, the same number of days but in some ways more tedious. However, let me say that I welcome January as usual with birthday wishes to all the January birthdays. Happy birthday to Andrew, my youngest living in New York now. Happy birthday to my friends Ros in Liverpool and Brenda in Michigan. I think I could list forever, but will stop with these. Since I haven't been posting, I don't have a lot of followers still reading. I will try and do better in 2021. I have a lot to be grateful... Continue reading

It's Monday and I really need that cup of coffee today! We had some cooler weather a a bit of rain, but we will reach 90 today, so Fall ???, I am not sure! I have been happily making cards and filling up my Etsy Shop . But, there is always a but, Christmas is nearing, sales are down again this year....but I am still inspired to make cards. There is a Coffee Lovers Blog Hop coming up in late November, those are always fun. Today I am showing you a coffee shaped card for the coffee lover. It has... Continue reading

World Card started off with me in the craft room. My football game came on at 11, so I had something to listen to while crafting. It was an exciting game, I only had to take a break to get my husbands lunch, but then I was right back creating a card. Mid-afternoon I was so tired that I laid down to take a nap...well, I slept too long and before I knew it I was so far behind on everything else, that I did not have time to finish the last bits and pieces of this card...no post either.... Hello this fine October day! We are finally having cooler nights but maybe by next week we will also have cooler days. It is always hard for me to make cards with fall and winter themes when it is over 95 outside. The last of September and the first few days of October were crazy, not just crazy busy, but everything was off and things just kept happening. I sent the wrong punch to a customer, who was very nice about it, then Amazon put 4 cases of cat food, a cat brush, water filters for a cat fountain, 2... Continue reading

Midnight is fast approaching and we are still a very warm 88 outside. I like to post my blog before midnight to get a head start on my day, otherwise it won't get done. Our summer is not over and we are supposed to be warmer than usual until Christmas anyway. We are having the hottest September on record...should enjoy it while it is here, then it will be cold and I am sure that won't be so good either. Nothing is ever perfect, right! Wednesday I had a lot to get done and only made one card. The card... Continue reading

Monday was a blur! I was so tired from Sunday and I had so much to do. I got most of it done including making this card, but I did not take a chance on posting it last night. Do you have days like that, or is it just us older folks? I managed to get enough sleep so I can begin Tuesday with a little energy, I will still need a nap! LOL! The card I created yesterday coffee shaped and has a lot of layers. It has a medium brown card base and is matted with lots of... Continue reading

Yesterday I found myself making another Christmas card using a beautiful Cardinal set. These days I am lucky if I find time to do more than one card in several weeks with the same set. I craft with a window to look out often seeing the birds take turns in the large flat bowl I have outside filled with water. They hop across the ground under the rose bushes into the bowl only to bathe and play. They come in groups, first the Blue Jays, then the Cardinals and sometimes a Mocking bird and rarely the White Wings. So imagine... Continue reading

Good morning, It's a very early Saturday , hot and humid. Get ready for a lot of cards and tags using new Stampin'Up! I finally have some time to play with new stamps. Hope your day is filled with fun and creativity. This card is my favorite shaped card...there is nothing better than a coffee cup shaped card. True to form, I love to create a theme for every occasion and this one is Halloween. Drinking coffee is so much better than drinking blood, I would imagine. Behind Dracula is new spells books...a wonderful coffee sleeve library of spells. Then... Continue reading

Hello Fall...well at least I hope it is almost here...Happy Birthday to my son Stephen. The day he was due, the 19th, it seemed hotter than summer. I drove the girls to dance class, sat on a floor during two lesson and a private which put me driving home with the sun shining in the low skyline. I stopped at a friends house to drop off her daughter and sat down to supper which she had ready for all of us. I knew I did not want to eat, as I was due the day before, but what the heck... I am always excited this time of year and not just because of Spring, flowers and butterflies. I love new catalogs and Stampin'Up! does a lovely one with new products coming in June. I love the preorder, but especially this year as there was more to choose from. The new in colors are subdued colors, but do fit well with the colors we have. I have a card for you to view today, made using a new nautical stamp set, new designer paper and one of the new in colors. This card has a Night of Navy card base and... Continue reading

Happy St. Patrick's Day...it is a cold bright cheery kind of morning. We have not yet entered Spring, unless it is to be a cold one into a hot summer. By end of day it will be warmer than it is now. Are you Irish, or at least part Irish. I am Scottish, Irish, a little Welsh, and a wee bit French. What a combination, what about you? I haven't posted yet again, in quite a while. I get busy and forget, then a day goes into a week, well you know how it is. I have a coffee card... Continue reading

Hello February, you are finally here. This is the month of Daffodils and Tulips, Crocus and Hyacinths, and let's don't forget the robins and that pesky groundhog. Tomorrow he comes out to see his shadow or not, telling us if we are going to have more winter. I know a lot of you are colder than we are here in South Texas, but January was colder than usual this year, gray, rainy and windy. The blooming cedar trees have a lot of us sick...Cedar Fever....So looking forward to Spring. Along with birthdays, there is Valentines day approaching. I made a... Continue reading

Have you ever stamped some images and then thought, what am I going to do with this? Well that is where I was yesterday. I had plebty to do so I put the images down and walked away. I got a large package mailed, full of goodies all wrapped up. I spent the late afternoon making the candy again using dark chocolate instead of white per my daughters request. Well it did not turn out so well. The dark chocolate I used had too my oil in it. After sitting in the fridge, I set it out...it was hard. After... Continue reading

We are counted down to seven days of shopping left until Christmas...are you ready? I spent all day yesterday finishing up the tree. I was so tired, I could not do anything else...but I am here with a cute project, a much needed gift for a December birthday. I still have projects to do, including my candy. I may get that done late this afternoon...my only package needs to go out tomorrow. Happy Birthday to all born in December. My daughter Amy was born 36 hours after Christmas, so we always are celebrating this time of year. The only thing... Continue reading

Hello, today is going to be a beautiful day, no snow, just lovely weather for December. Saturday was a busy day, with the Christmas tree getting some decorations, more soup and Spring rolls being made. The room was merry with tissue flying as ornaments came out of hiding. How about your Saturday, did you shop, make candy or cookies, or just chill? One of the first ornaments taken out of my tote was this handmade one with a photo of my grandson. I love this ornament, it is only about 12 yrs old. Every year the cats get excited when... Continue reading

Happy Saturday...counting down to Christmas. I made it back, but not before midnight. Friday was spent trying to stay warm and snuggling with my Tigger...he just wanted to sleep in my lap and he never does that. I did get to the kitchen, however did not start another batch of candy. No worries as I haven't run out of time. My chair is set up to start on the tree which I will do once I leave the computer. It is not new for me to do things until around 2am as I am a night person. I went into... Continue reading

Happy Friday...sometimes my favorite day of the week. It is a cold and blustery north wind that is blowing. I had a great Thursday making a pot of vegetable sausage soup, Italian bread and yes, if you read the last post...candy. Soup is always easy and the bread recipe is even easier...but the candy recipe was too easy for words. Hope you enjoy drooling to the end. But first...my three angels??? Peace on earth at least for a few hours. Daisy...Tigger...and.... Fluffy...the two girls with a much younger Tigger are for the only time lined up here sleeping on a... Continue reading

Happy mid December...There are 12 days until Christmas morning and I find myself behind. Tree is not decorated but has been up since the day after Thanksgiving. That's okay as the only ones to look at it are my husband and myself and it is beautiful with the gleaming lights. My shopping is limited and things I have made likewise. Everywhere there are sounds of Christmas, the television is over run with dime novel Christmas shows that all have the same plot and endings, not much content. But this soesn't deter me from enjoying what should be a time of... Continue reading

It is a great day, Thursday will be a warm 76 unlike last weeks high of 56. I really love the warm days, but accept the cool ones. I am finally back...long time no see....last week was Thanksgiving and I had children and grandchildren for a week. It was a busy and full house, lots of laughter, lots of good food most of which I did not have to cook. I did get some crafting time. I have been working on my photography and decided I am still not very good at it, but I will keep trying. Check out... Continue reading

Wonder colors, Wonderful smells...almost nothing compares to fall weather and a cup of hot coffee. No matter how you like it, it somehow finds a way to sooth the soul. Happy Wednesday...a hump day for sure this week. This card has a medium gold card base and is matted with designer papers and white cs. My new pad of 6 x 6 fall paper, love the earth tones and the greens. So many places are green this time of year, but fall is always depicted as brown, orange, gold, etc. I used some new and some old Stampin'Up! stamps and dies... We are finally cooling off and it is amazing how much better I feel. Except for the mosquitoes, the world is a happy place here. Night before last we were 59...so nice. The rain is on it's way back. I have another good story. It was at least two years ago that I lost some metal dies that accompanied my prize coffee cup die. It was the sleeve, cup top and several others in a separate envelope. For days I looked high and low to no avail.I finally decided they must have slipped into the trash can as I had... Continue reading
