In that post, our MBA Admissions Director Mae Jennifer Shores shares some of her insight on taking the GMAT multiple times. Also, take a look at UCLA Anderson's application at http://www.anderson.ucla.edu/x27502.xml. You'll see that various factors are considered in addition to your GMAT score. My advice is to take the test when you are consistently hitting your target score on your diagnostic tests, but to give yourself some time (at least a month) to take it again in case you don't hit your target score on the actual test.
