Hi Matt and Ambra--- Yes, it IS shameful, isn't it? I have so many posts in my head and I just don't have the time to get them out! I believe I OVERTHINK my posts so I hope that in the future I'll just try to get them out as fast as possible... Bear with me!
Another New Year... 2012 starts with The Morellino Challenge!
I'm a big fan of New Years... Blank calendars, infinite possibilities, new beginnings, resolutions, all that stuff. I enjoy looking back on the good things, jettisoning the bad things, and I love looking forward to the new... New journeys, new wines, new vintage... What matters here is my desire...
Your wine was indeed included and did VERY well in the tasting. Not even close to that oaky/sweet category.
Thanks for commenting and following Gianpaolo!

I KNEW I forgot one: I left out Rimini!
Ramble On
On the train, heading to Venice... It's only those of us who work in the wine biz who know how much we move around. For those folks on the outside, we lead a glamorous life of gala dinners and endless tastings of the world's finest wines... I'll admit, I like to travel, and any time away from ...
Thanks for your comments! Unfortunately I'm not Joe, but I'll pass the message on to him.
Keep on asking for Bastianich and La Mozza wines in your local shops! You can always ask our NY distributor (Angel's Share Wines) where you can find our wines.
Buzzing, for real...
Yes, Things are really, honestly BUZZING around the winery these days. The University of Udine has gratefully installed a dozen beehives on our vineyards. We really thought it would be a good idea to put bees here for a couple reasons, even though bees don't pollinate grape flavors. Biodiversi...

Thanks also for having a look at the blog. Im honored! I just wish

Scenes From a Bastianich Pop-up...
During VinItaly this year we decided to take a different approach to the usual entertaining that we do every year for our importers, distributors and special clients. Instead of trying to jam into a crowded restaurant that, under pressure of the insanity that is VinItaly, may not show it's best,...

An opportunity to meet Joe and Lidia Bastianich...
If you want a real idea of the philosophy behind our wines, what better way than to meet the people who created and live that philosophy? You can have that possibility if you're around New York City this Thursday, November 19th, because Joe and Lidia Bastianich will be at Morrell Wine Shop (Rock...
Thanks! I appreciate comments on the blog a lot...
Mountains and birds
Just a couple of things I wanted to share... The weather has been cold and rainy for about a week, but once the clouds clear a little, I can safely say that I have a beautiful morning commute... And then I have this little guy constantly flitting and chirping outside my office window: In t...
Thanks so much for the compliment. It means a lot to me to hear from people who enjoy the blog! Hopefully you will enjoy future posts just as much. So dont forget to subscribe to the blog.!
Appassimento (or, shrivel your berries...)
Grape-drying (in Italian: Appassimento) is something that has been around since the beginning of wine. It's a natural way to increase the concentration of sugar in the grapes, unfortunately, at the expense of volume. That's why the famous dried-grape wines (like Amarone from Veneto and Sfursat f...
