North Carolina nurse saves state trooper's life who was shot in the face during a traffic stop after she drives by his bullet-ridden patrol car Sherice Richardson (left) was driving to her daughter's daycare when she saw the car (inset) smoking on the side of the road, with bullet holes in the windshield. Trooper Daniel Harrell (right) was inside, bleeding from his face. 'I'm hit, I'm hit' he told her. Richardson immediately called 911, then found gauze and began treating Harrell. The trooper has since been released from the hospital and three suspects have been arrested in connection to the shooting. Continue reading

Foreword by Bob Barney: Notice 2 things in this report that the media, including Fox News is not reporting: 1) THE GOVT WORKERS ARE COLLECTING UNEMPLOYMENT! and 2). The shutdown has not affected the private sector at all! We are at full employment! The number of Americans filing new applications for unemployment benefits fell last week, but claims filed by federal employees jumped due to the partial shutdown of the federal government. Initial jobless claims, a proxy for layoffs across the U.S., fell by 3,000 to a seasonally adjusted 213,000 in the week ended January 12, the Labor Department said Thursday. That is up from 216,000 reported a week earlier. Economists had forecast 221,000 jobless claims. Those figures reflect claims filed under regular state programs. The lower than expected number for the past week indicates that private contractors working for the federal government, many of whom are not working during the shutdown, are not piling into unemployment benefits. Federal employees... Continue reading

The most remarkable element in President Trump’s TV address to the nation in the stand-off with Congress is the attack on the current billion-dollar drug mafia in America. It is quite a puzzle. Why do the media discourage President Trump’s fight against the illegal activity along the U.S. borders? Who profits from open borders if not the American drug cartels whose criminal activity is dependent on illegal access to the United States? Who profits from human trafficking? In whose interest is it to push for an illegal immigration that lowers the wages of unskilled workers and keeps the billion-dollar drug industry running? And why on earth does the Democratic Party so fervently support the illegal activity that produces anarchy in the U.S.? To cite Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld, President Trump addressed “the 266,000 arrests of aliens with criminal records, the 100,000 assaults, the 30,000 sex crimes, the 4,000 violent killings, the 1 in 3 women sexually assaulted on the trek... LORDSBURG, N.M. — Ranchers and farmers near the U.S.-Mexico border have been finding prayer rugs on their properties in recent months, according to one rancher who asked to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation by cartels who move the individuals. The mats are pieces of carpet that those of the Muslim faith kneel on as they worship. "There’s a lot of people coming in not just from Mexico," the rancher said. "People, the general public, just don’t get the terrorist threats of that. That’s what’s really scary. You don’t know what’s coming across. We’ve found prayer rugs out here. It’s unreal. It’s not just Mexican nationals that are coming across." MORE Continue reading

This is what the Democrats have brought into the nation, criminals, rapist and murders! Are you happy America? Police in Honduras arrested one of the organizing members of a new caravan of migrants who are seeking to reach the U.S. border. Police arrested the caravan organizer — serving a warrant on the charge of rape. Authorities have confirmed the arrest of 26-year-old Juan Carlos Molina. They say the man they claim is one of the main organizers and promoters of a caravan of individuals from Honduras who are seeking to reach the U.S. border to request asylum. On Monday, a group of about 800 migrants left San Pedro Sula on their way north. It is believed that others may join along the way. Initial information released by Miguel Perez, the sub-director of the Honduran Border Police, reveals that the arrest took place at the bus station in San Pedro Sula from where the first members of the caravan departed. Perez... Continue reading

AP/Getty Images Several freshman Democrat members of the new House of Representatives majority have turned on Speaker Nancy Pelosi in her steadfast refusal to fund President Donald Trump’s planned wall along the U.S. border with Mexico and are instead seeking for Democrats to cut a deal on the wall with Trump. The ongoing partial government shutdown, which affects a quarter of the federal government and is now the longest shutdown in the history of the United States, began late last year just before Christmas. It dragged through New Years into the new Congress, and Pelosi–after she won the Speakership vote after fending off internal Democrat rebels–has refused to negotiate with President Trump on the wall. She and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer say Trump will never get funding for the wall, and they are keeping the government shut down because they refuse to pass any funding bill that has wall money in it. House Majority Whip Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD),... Continue reading

Once again Communist Google is doing more harm to democracy and free elections than Russia Ever did or could do. Alex Wong, Win McNamee/Getty, Screenshot/YouTube In sworn testimony, Google CEO Sundar Pichai told Congress last month that his company does not “manually intervene” on any particular search result. Yet an internal discussion thread leaked to Breitbart News reveals Google regularly intervenes in search results on its YouTube video platform – including a recent intervention that pushed pro-life videos out of the top ten search results for “abortion.” The term “abortion” was added to a “blacklist” file for “controversial YouTube queries,” which contains a list of search terms that the company considers sensitive. According to the leak, these include some of these search terms related to: abortion, abortions, the Irish abortion referendum, Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters, and anti-gun activist David Hogg. The existence of the blacklist was revealed in an internal Google discussion thread leaked to Breitbart News by a source... Continue reading

Alzheimer's disease could be treated with electric shocks to the brain that rescue memory in the early stages of the disease, according to new research. A study using electric shocks in epilepsy patients found that stimulating the area of the brain that processes language 'reliably and significantly' boosted patients' ability to remember words. This method of treatment has been successfully used for epilepsy sufferers in the past to quell seizures but now researchers have found that patients' memory improved by 15 percent when fitted with a skull cap that sent electromagnetic pulses to that specific part of the brain. The findings offer hope of a therapy to stop symptoms of the crippling brain disorder at its earliest stages for the 5.5 million Americans suffering from incurable Alzheimer's disease. Researchers from the University of Pennsylvania conducted a study with 25 epilepsy patients who wore a skull cap fitted with electrodes that sent electromagnetic pulses to the lateral temporal cortex. Researchers at... Continue reading

Leaky blood vessels in the brain can predict early onset of dementia, a new study says.vv. Previous studies have focused on the tell-tale plaques in the brain that form clumps, which smother and destroy neurons. But researchers from the University of Southern California say that capillaries, the tiniest vessels in the body that link small arteries and veins, begin seeping years before the toxic proteins appear. The team says that repairing them could slow down dementia from developing into Alzheimer's disease, and potentially even prevent the debilitating condition. A new study had found that leaky blood vessels in the brain (pictured) can predict early onset of Alzheimer's faster than the presence of proteins In the brains of healthy adults, the walls of blood vessels are so tight that few to no foreign objects reach the organ. This is known as the blood-brain barrier. However, as we age, the blood vessels don't fit as tightly together, which may allow amyloid beta and... Continue reading

Wikimedia Commons, Kevin Frayer/Getty Images This year marks the 40th anniversary of Jeane Kirkpatrick’s “Dictatorships and Double Standards,” an essay that changed the world. Commentary magazine, which published all of its 9,800 words, calls it “The Classic Essay That Shaped Reagan’s Foreign Policy”—and few would argue. In 1981, Kirkpatrick was named by President Ronald Reagan to be the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, and the rest is history. The decisions made by Reagan in the early 80s, with Kirkpatrick as a key adviser, led, just a few years later, to the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the Soviet Union. Changed the world, indeed. And yet even with the Soviets gone, today, another empire, China, threatens us. Indeed, the Chinese, at the rate they’re going, could prove to be more of a threat to us as than the Soviets at their worst. In the meantime, now, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is on an eight-day trip... Continue reading

IMAGE CREDITS: JORDAN MANSFIELD / CONTRIBUTOR / GETTY, SOPA IMAGES / CONTRIBUTOR / GETTY While the market has been increasingly focused on the rising headwinds in the global economy in general, and China’s economic slowdown in particular, while the media is obsessing over daily revelations that Trump may or may not have colluded with Russia to get elected, a far more critical, if underreported, shift has been taking place over the past year. As we reported in June, whether due to concerns over draconian western sanctions and asset confiscations following the poisoning of former Russian military officer Sergei Skripal, or simply because it wanted to diversify away from the dollar, Russia liquidated virtually all of its Treasury holdings in the late spring and early summer, in the process sparking a major repricing of the 10Y US Treasury, whose yield jumped from 2.70% at the start of April to a high of 3.10% in May, a move which economists were struggling... Forward by Bob Barney: I think too many are taking for granted that this moron from NYC will have a short political life.... Remember, the millennial vote is a dumb as she is, and she is also the natural choice for all those older BERNIE supporters. An Accuracy in Academia Address by Bill Lind. Variations of this speech have been delivered to various AIA conferences including the 2000 Conservative University at American University If you enjoy this speech, keep up with political correctness and how it continues to emerge on college campuses by following our Faculty Lounge blog. Where does all this stuff that you’ve heard about this morning – the victim feminism, the gay rights movement, the invented statistics, the rewritten history, the lies, the demands, all the rest of it – where does it come from? For the first time in our history, Americans have to be fearful of what they say, of what they write, and of what they think. They have to be afraid of using the wrong word, a word denounced as offensive or insensitive, or racist, sexist, or homophobic. We have seen other countries, particularly in this century, where this has been the case. And we have always regarded them... Continue reading

Foreword by Bob Barney: Evolutionist have a problem when it comes to the human race. You see, scientists don't believe that God created mankind after their own image. Instead they believe in evolution, and that man evolved. It has already been proven by science that all humans have a common ancestor (Are Adam and Eve Real? Provable by Science? By Bob Barney), but if scientists continue to keep God out of the process of creation, they have a problem. Here it is. Everyone knows that dogs can be bred to have certain characteristics. Some breeds of dogs are smarter than others, some are stronger and larger than others, some can smell better than others, some can't even mate with each other (A Mastiff and a Yorkie for example) so why shouldn't the same facts be real with humans? Why can't some "breeds" be stronger, smarter or dumber than others? We see this everywhere in nature, but when we see this... Continue reading

The Food and Drug Administration is supposed to inspect all factories, foreign and domestic, that produce drugs for the U.S. market. But a KHN review of thousands of FDA documents — inspection records, recalls, warning letters and lawsuits — reveals how drugs that are poorly manufactured or contaminated can reach consumers. By Sydney Lupkin Photos by Heidi de Marco JANUARY 4, 2019 ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Despite the jackhammer-like rhythm of a mechanical ventilator, Alicia Moreno had dozed off in a chair by her 1-year-old’s hospital bed, when a doctor woke her with some bad news: The common stool softener her son, Anderson, was given months earlier had been contaminated with the bacterium Burkholderia cepacia. Suddenly, Anderson’s rocky course made medical sense. B. cepacia was the same unusual bacterium mysteriously found in the boy’s respiratory tract, temporarily taking him off the list for a heart transplant. The same bacterium resurfaced after his transplant and combined with a flu-like illness to... Continue reading

White House is preparing to REPLACE the ailing Ruth Bader Ginsburg: Trump aides are 'working on a list of nominations and gearing up for another Kavanaugh-style Senate fight' after the 85-year-old missed her first oral arguments in 25 years She's the subject of a Hollywood biopic and is very much alive, but the White House has been in contact with Senate Republicans about possible replacements for the ailing 85-year old Supreme Court justice. The White House is even working on a short-list of possible nominees to replace Ginsburg, who broke her 25-year streak when she began missing oral arguments on Monday. The White House counsel's office is even trading names with the office of new Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham. Politico published a list of them Thursday. Continue reading

Why does the Democratic Party leadership refuse to build the wall they know will discourage illegal penetration of our country? Are they indifferent to the tragic reality of human trafficking? The U.S. State Department estimates that 14,500 to 17,500, or in some cases as many as 19,000, foreign nationals are trafficked into the United States each year. By July 2018, the AMBER Alert Training and Technical Assistance Program disclosed, “Sex trafficking in and out of the United States has historically been big business. The trafficking of persons across the U.S. border for prostitution is estimated to be the third most significant source of revenue for organized crime syndicates, following the sale of drugs and firearms. All of this profit potential has proven to be a powerful motivator for both organized crime and small independent organizations alike to engage in the sex trafficking of persons.” So, why stop the wall – whose absence makes it easier for mobsters to prostitute girls... Articles about the left’s hypocrisy and appalling double standards are barely newsworthy these days. Even so, the Democrats have displayed new lows on that score this week, throwing around the word “morality” as if they are the nation’s arbiters of it. On immigration, for example, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi denounced President Trump’s call for heightened border security, including a border wall, as “an immorality.” Pelosi never defined the term. Nor – unsurprisingly – did she address the “morality” of the consequences of open borders, including Americans killed by illegal immigrants. There are too many names to list, but according to the Ohio Jobs & Justice PAC, here are a few, to get a sense of the magnitude of these avoidable tragedies: Pierce Corcoran, Cpl. A German cardinal on Friday provoked anger and controversy when he claimed the Catholic church was not responsible for sexual abuse by its clerics, and instead sought to pin the blame on homosexuality. “What has happened in the church is no different from what is happening in society as a whole,” Cardinal Walter Brandmüller said. “The real scandal is that the Catholic church hasn’t distinguished itself from the rest of society.” A study commissioned by the German Bishops Conference and published last year found that more than 3,600 children were sexually abused by Catholic clergy in Germany between 1946 and 2014. But Cardinal Brandmüller claimed that only a “vanishingly small number” of clergy had committed abuses. He said the real problem was homosexuality and claimed it is “statistically proven” that there is a link between homosexuality and abuse. Society “forgets or covers up the fact that 80 per cent of cases of sexual assault in the church involved male youths... Continue reading

by Steven Petrow, The Washington Post Not that long ago, I would not have been able to tell you what the acronym "CBD" stood for, let alone what it was used for. CBD, or cannabidiol, is most commonly extracted from hemp, but it can also come from marijuana plants, which is why it is sometimes confused with its trippy chemical cousin THC. Unlike CBD, THC produces a high when smoked or eaten. Today, we are living in a CBD world, with tinctures, ointments and vaping oils popping up everywhere. Celebrities from Gwyneth Paltrow to Willie Nelson are CBD believers, and if you frequent the right coffee shops, you can even get a shot of cannabidiol in your latte. Political cartoonist A.F. Branco had a very funny illustration a few days ago: image: https://www.wnd.com/files/2018/12/12-31-18-A.F.-Branco.jpg The reason this made me chuckle is because it reminds me of the behavior of that icon of the green movement, Al Gore, whose personal carbon footprint dwarfs whole towns and whose predilection for private jets is the butt of many jokes. Gore’s environmental hypocrisy is well-documented. Criticism of the former vice president’s lifestyle goes back over a decade. A 2007 ABC article entitled “Al Gore’s ‘Inconvenient Truth’? – A $30,000 Utility Bill” shocked supporters and critics alike. “If this were any other person with $30,000-a-year in utility bills, I wouldn’t care,” said the president of the Tennessee Center for Policy Research at the time. “But he tells other people how to live and he’s not following his own rules … he is not living the lifestyle that he advocates.” Hilariously, the left sees attacks on Gore’s hypocrisy as unfounded. “I think what you’re seeing...
