Is not this bunny the most adorable thing ever?? I can't quit making bunny cards! Mostly I've been making your garden-variety gray rabbit, but this time I decided to make a snow rabbit and I love how it turned out. The secret is the Chalk Marker's realistic brush strokes. It looks amazing on colored cardstocks like the Crumb Cake I used above. This card is one of three bonus projects in this month's Class of the Month featuring the Nature's Beauty stamp set. I'd love to send you the class files for free when you use the code U9DHHPVU and... Continue reading

Big fan of plaid here, although I never wear it! I am loving the classic plaids and buffalo checks in all the holiday home decor this year. It is just a pleasantly warming texture and a shortcut to "cozy." The new Perfectly Plaid 6x6 paper stack from Stampin' Up! is my go-to paper this Christmas. I like how each plaid has a metallic foil accent running through it. I paired my plaid with kind of an unlikely candidate as I was looking for just the right third tree for my trio. The Noble Peacock specialty embossed foil cardstocks had a... Continue reading

I still can't believe I made this! It looks so cool! The other day I sat down to make my Countdown Calendar Kit and decided to time myself. To my surprise it was about one hour of relaxing and absorbing holiday fun. Here's my official product review! First impressions: Very good value for the price ($30), plus it's reuseable Nice heavy cardboard that will definitely last for many seasons Do I need the coordinating stamp set? Didn't order it. Can I customize it easily? I can think of other fun countdowns! Setting to work: I don't have to make the... Continue reading

I know it is starting to feel like fall out there, but I'm still playing with my summery favorite, Daisy Lane! It's just so easy to make beautiful, cheerful cards covered in blossoms. You may have seen this trendy diagonal accent around the web already. I love the assymetry of all the angles. The trick to making it look good is keeping a balance between the "heaviness" of the piece of patterned paper on top, with the "lightness" of the other stamps and sentiment below. Keep stamping until it doesn't feel top-heavy! Ready to recreate this look at home? Here's... Continue reading

I am loving my new stamp set, Nature's Beauty--although I do admit to having a love-hate relationship with deer! Having grown up in Wyoming and now living in Wisconsin, I admire their elegance and always feel blessed when I spot them in the wild. But it's sure no fun when they bound out in front of your car or ruin your garden! Our deer STAMP, however, never causes trouble! Peacefully alert but unafraid, it stands at the edge of the woods, making the perfect image for masculine, fall, sympathy, get well, and even Christmas cards. You'll be getting this beautiful... Here we are at the last day of 31 Pages in 31 Days 2019 edition! Wowsers, that went fast. Although I am ready to move on... it's my favorite season (fall) and Christmas cards and craft fairs are calling... I probably won't have time to really scrap again until the new year. But at least a month of immersion scrapping has put me ahead of the game, with WAY more done in just one month than the whole rest of the year combined! My camera did not seem to like this page, so I apologize for the slight blur. I... Continue reading

I love new toys! There is nothing like diving into a box of brand new goodies and trying to decide what to play with first. Last month I got the So Many Stars bundle with the Stitched Stars dies, and just had to make a Christmas card right away. I love monochrome, as you know, and when you add in metallics it's always an awesome thing. Unfortunately it didn't show up in the photo so well--what appears to be brown ink is actually gold heat embossing. The main body of the die cut is gold, but the stars added back... Continue reading

You can copy the layouts exactly, swipe some ideas or color combos, or just do your own thing. Here's today's inspiration! I don't get nearly enough excuses to play with the adorable Little Elephant stamp set and punch, so this is in honor of all my friends who are moving into the grandma phase of life! It's so cute to watch you fall in love with... Continue reading

Hello, all! Welcome back to 31 Pages in 31 Days, our annual scrapbooking challenge here at Song of My Heart. I have been enjoying myself immensely this month with some immersion scrapbooking (read about the concept here) and posting a page or spread every day for the last 27 days! Day 28's inspiration page is a back-to-school layout perfect for that special "first day" photo. I really like the Lined Alphabet stamps and use them all the time. I decided to make some background papers with it for a page, and it morphed into a single background with the entire... Continue reading

Hello my lovely crafty ladies! I have something fun to share with you today--a sneak peek from the autumnal goodies available in the upcoming 2019 Holiday Mini Catalog! The Come to Gather patterned papers are right on trend for this beautiful season, with a modern twist on the typical fall colors, and my favorite, white "ghost" pumpkins! I absolutely LOVE the non-traditional color choices here and the way the work together with each other. I chose not to use any of the Cajun Craze and Merry Merlot colored patterns on this particular page, but imagine them paired with the Pretty... Continue reading

Hello everyone! Today's inspiration is a fun technique called Descending Photos. It's so easy to do and really makes that one special photo POP off the page. I used the gorgeous patterned paper from See a Silhouette for my background and drew my color inspiration from that. Start with a basic grid layout, 4x4 or 6x6 in rows, with mats all the same size. Cut two extra mats for the bottom-most right corner photo and layer them off-set, descending down and to the right. Use Stampin' Dimensionals to get really great layering that's still nice and sleek for sliding into... Continue reading

Welcome to Day 23 of 31 Pages in 31 Days! Hope you're loving all the scrappy inspiration as much as I am loving the excuse to scrapbook! I've totally lost count of my page total for the month but I know I've already blown away the goal. Maybe I can break my record this year! Are you playing along? See the pages others are producing in our Facebook 31 Pages in 31 Days challenge support group. I had so much fun making these pages last night! I wasn't even planning on buying this Merry Moose stamp set and punch bundle, but my moose-loving husband spotted it over my shoulder, and that was that! And wouldn't you know, it was the first thing I grabbed when it was time to design holiday cards for my Christmas Club. It's just really cute and has such fun sayings. Mike was right! The new Toile Tidings papers have a great checked plaid pattern (red on one side, green on the other) that just really works great to up that country rustic look. And because Merry Moose is a punch bundle,... Continue reading

Welcome to Day 21 of 31 Pages in 31 Days! I'm glad you're here. I hope you'll leave me a comment and let me know if you're enjoying the series! Please feel free to copy the layouts exactly, or take bits and pieces according to your needs. I would be so pleased to hear you were getting some good out of my challenge month! Recognize the fun background "scales" from yesterday's heritage layout? It's another piece of that chart I had made using the Shimmer Spray-ed Tailored Tag punch. I just love the calm, stylized "waves" the elongated geometrics give... Continue reading
