The Christmas card of the week is from my November 2018 featured stamp set, At Home with You. Do you like porches? My favorite part of decorating is our front porch. I just love making little vignettes and I have way too many wreaths to choose from. I would love a set of Christmas topiaries just like these! Unlike many homes in this region, our front porch was never closed in, so it remains wide open and welcoming. I HOPED to have our new red front door installed for this holiday, but our contractor is running way behind because of... Continue reading

I was struck with inspiration while playing with the Varied Vases stamp set and punch. The tall vases would make great flower petals! Wouldn't this just be the most fun card to receive? The idea is really simple, and you can probably figure it out just by looking at the photo, but I made a quick video anyway since I had everything out. If you decide you've just fallen off the fence on the side in favor of getting Varied Vases and the Vases Builder Punch, or any other Stampin' Up stamps or accessories, click here to go shopping! The roses could have been any color. I could just have easily bought white ones, or yellow ones. But they were pink for a reason. I just didn't know it. I set up for the funerals at our church. It's the perfect way for me to be quietly helpful and... Continue reading

I saw this adorable idea and had to try it out ASAP. It was so quick and easy and gorgeously colorful, I even made a fun little video with two different versions! I can't wait to try this technique with other stamps as well. This is one technique you'll use over and over. Enjoy! And leave me a comment if you're enjoying my new Vimeo channel. Got a suggestion for a video you'd like to see? I'd love to hear it! Lyssa@songofmyheartstampers.com Continue reading

You know me... when I want to make something really elegant, I always turn to monochromatic color schemes. Navy blue and crisp white with Glimmer Paper fit the bill for an easy, classy card that takes only a few minutes to make. You could also change the color from blue to red, and color in the holly and berries if you have a little more time to spend on each one. Or really bling it up and have a metallic tag and some metallic thread under the holly sprig! Ready to recreate this look at home? Here's what you'll need... Continue reading

Don't mind me... I'm supposed to be working on Christmas cards right now, but I keep playing with my new Seasoned with Kindness set! I just love the tin cans and the different herbs, especially combined with this sweet olive-tone plaid from the Under the Mistletoe papers. It just speaks of homey goodness and a simpler life, you know? A good thing to be reminded of when the world is moving a bit fast for me. Seasoned with Kindness is a hostess exclusive, so it's available to order with hostess credit on orders of $150 or more. So if you... Continue reading

My team and I had such a great time at the Stampin' Up convention in Orlando earlier this month! It was so exciting to be there with 6,000+ other demonstrators all learning together and making friendships. We got so much loot this year, I could barely get my suitcase closed, and Penni had to put some of my things in her second bag on top of that! A record number of my team members attended OnStage, and the most downline members who have ever attended Centre Stage, too, which is a special leader-level event, held this year at Epcot. We... My Paper Pumpkin kit came today and I thought I'd take a quick video so you can see what it's like to get one of these craft kits in the mail. As a demonstrator, it's a real treat to have everything all precut, scored, designed and ready to stamp and assemble. Usually I am the one doing that for others! Yes, I know you're surprised as it's been quite a while since a video appeared on Song of My Heart! I have been having the most horrendous technical difficulties ever... locked out of my You Tube account, phone upgraded to... Continue reading

Don't you just love the 80's vibe going on here? I had a lot of fun making this for a friend's milestone birthday with my latest stamp acquisition, the sassy Free Cake set. I only had a minute to play with it so far, but I can tell it's going to be a fun addition to my collection and a great excuse to use bright, bold colors. I did a fun little treatment on the inside as well, popping up the punchline that I hand cut in a goofy shape. I hope she likes it! If you're in need of... Continue reading

I had such fun making these quick and whimsical wreath cards that I just had to pop on and share. I've seen a lot of complicated wreath templates lately and I am just not up for that kind of work, myself. So here's how EASY it is to make a wreath from any floral spray or leaf sprig stamp. I used the rosemary sprig stamp from Seasoned with Kindness, a hostess exclusive in the current catalog. I stamped once at the top, and once directly beneath that going the opposite direction. Then I stamped once on the left centered between... Continue reading

I was feeling a little stressed yesterday, so I stepped into my stamp space after supper and played a little bit with my new Seasoned with Kindness set. Funny how your mood improves with every minute you're crafting! So I made a darling little basket for my pots of herbs to go in, and it was SO easy and cute I had to share. You'll need the new Chicken Wire Elements from page 43 of the 2018 Holiday Catalog (or click here), a silver brad, and silver foil or the new Galvanized Metallic Paper for the rest of it. You... So last week Penni and I got up at the crack of dawn and traveled to Orlando for the Stampin' Up conference (she's my Emotional Support Human). We had a great time! We did not take very many photos, so I have saved the best of the best to share with you. Here's the rest of our trip--I know you can't WAIT to see my food photos especially every year! : ) First we had to pick up our rental car. I'm always looking for ways to make my die-cut shapes more versatile. I love love LOVE the Bethlehem edgelits dies, but since I've used the whole city skyline on several cards last year, this year I'm looking for ways to use parts and pieces in unique layouts. I shared a beautiful royal purple design here, but for this card I went with neutrals and a pop of gold foil paper. If you'd like to get this look at home, you can use any nesting circles punches or framelits. I used the 2 inch and 2.25 inch circle punches, and my... Continue reading

The set I chose to feature this month for my online class is At Home With You, and I think my favorite project of them all might be this cute little cabin card.
