Web browsing is free regardless of your home region setting. The extra charges are set up to pay for the data roaming but no set monthly fee for wireless access. This does vary by country unfortunately. Just checked Philippines and web browser does not work there at this time. Might want to hold off until more details come out about the B&N Nook. That device supports wifi as well.
