In 2002, Cane River by Lalita Tademy was on my Grandma Eva's bookshelf. That the book was on her shelf, and that she had apparently read it, were both interesting facts. She is the grandparent who, when I was in... Continue reading

hi leah - you are one of the people who were on my mind as i wrote this. i have a list in my journal of my "why" for pursuing these conversations - you and your husband and children are on my list. i know that you and i haven't always seen eye-to-eye on all of the things over the years, but i want you to know that some of the things you pointed out to me and some of the things we disagreed about have stuck with me and have helped to form the way i think now . . . i continue to learn, i continue to grow in openness and in thought processes . . . and - thank you - for being you, and for being here, in this space.

yes! habit is back! just since the end of april. i love the pictures and writing, too. such an inspiration. ben and i did have a wonderful weekend. on friday we watched a movie and slept on the huge corner couch at the bunkhouse - like high school kids. :) on saturday went for a drive and a hike we ended up spending the day at home on sunday with the kids - and that was good, too.

these are such strange times. and we learn things about ourselves in strange times . . . or things we knew resurface . . . i'll keep working on focusing on all the bits of sunshine . . . and keep up my social media connections and texting and video conferencing . . . i really miss meeting up with people in real life. i also am mostly glad that i didn't have covid-19 - but you are right, if i had had it, i would be immune now, and that would have been a good thing! sending love and wishes for good health
