Hello and Happy Sunday! For this week's Sunday Fun Day theme over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are sharing boxes!! I recently shared a "crate" that I made from card stock to hold 3x3 note cards (see that post here) so went in a little different direction with this project. I just received my preorder from the upcoming Holiday catalog (many of you should be receiving these in the mail this week!!), so I decided to make a little gift box to hold some chocolates and K-cups that is perfect as a Christmas treat. How cute is this box? I was soooo excited when what I saw in my head turned out exactly like I imagined!!! It took... Continue reading

Hello and Happy Sunday! For this week's Sunday Fun Day theme over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we created sympathy cards. Sadly, this is a type of card that we will always need. I usually go with a nature-themed stamp set for my sympathy cards, but decided to expand my creativity and use the Sailing Home stamp set to create these cards. I'll be honest, I bought this stamp set thinking it would be great for masculine cards. But I really like the way these turned out for sympathy cards now that I made a few. In addition to the Crumb Cake, Misty Moonlight and Very Vanilla card stock, I used the Sailing Home stamp set, Label Me Lovely... Continue reading

Hi there and welcome to the July 2021 Stampers Dozen Blog Hop! This month we are sharing Sweet Summertime projects and to me nothing screams summer here in the South more than PEACHES! I went to a local peach orchard with my Mom last weekend and we got some really sweet peaches and that is the inspiration for my project this month. Fresh peaches are perfect for peach cobbler, peach tea, peach pie, peach ice cream... I could go on and on. My favorite way to eat a peach is just to eat it as is, especially if they are ripe, juicy and sweet. What is your favorite way to eat peaches? When I saw that Stampin' Up! introduced an... Hello and Happy Sunday! For this week's Sunday Fun Day theme over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we designed projects featuring the new 2021-2023 In Colors. I couldn't decide on which one I liked best, so decided to create monochromatic cards in a matching set featuring each of the new colors: Pale Papaya, Polished Pink, Fresh Freesia, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen. If you haven't purchased them yet, consider joining my In Color Club (see more information HERE) and budget your purchases over 5 months. I used the new Wild Roses background stamp for all of my cards and love the way the tone-on-tone turned out using the same ink with the card stock. Since this stamp doesn't have... Continue reading

Hello and Happy Independence Day to all my American readers! For this week's Sunday Fun Day theme over on the Sisters in Stamping blog, we designed projects featuring a color palette of Red, White and Blue in honor of the July Fourth holiday today. I chose to make a birthday card (for America's birthday) and am featuring Basic White, Night of Navy and Real Red with Crumb Cake for my card along with a few punches. From this angle I think you can see how shimmery the Opal Rounds are that I put in the centers of my flowers, created using the Daisy and Medium Daisy punches. I wanted to do flowers because it is summer, but also these kind... Continue reading

Hello and Happy Sunday! For this week's Sunday Fun Day theme over on the Sisters in Stamping blog, I asked my fellow designers to create a 6" x 6" DSP One Sheet Wonder set of cards. If you aren't familiar with this concept, a One Sheet Wonder is where you stamp a sheet of card stock and then cut it up into multiple pieces to make several cards. It is even easier when you start with a piece of DSP! For this challenge I wanted to showcase the great 6" x 6" DSP stacks that Stampin' Up! is now selling. If you don't have any, simply cut a sheet of 12" x 12" DSP into (4) pieces of 6" x... Continue reading

Hello and Happy Sunday! Karla challenged us this week to design a card using scraps for our Sunday Fun Day project over on the Sisters in Stamping blog. I had a lot of scraps that I have been saving/hoarding from the True Love DSP pack that is sadly retiring when the January-June catalog ends on the 30th that I wanted to use. I also pulled out my folder of scraps from the Brights collection and ended up making these two cards. I was looking on Pinterest for some inspiration and saw a bunch of cards using strips of DSP and card stock, so that is how I made my first card. I cut a piece of basic white card stock... Hi there and welcome to the June 2021 Stampers Dozen Blog Hop! This month we are sharing projects that focus on the many invaluable tools that Stampin' Up! offers. What is your must-have? I know that I can't live without the Simply Scored Scoring Tool! A very obvious use of this tool is to score card stock before cutting it in half to create two card bases, but check out this great gift box I created and the card set to go in it. This makes the perfect gift to give and with very few supplies! Inside the gift box is a set of four blank note cards and sentiments that can be attached as needed. I even embellished/texturized the... Continue reading

Hello and Happy Sunday! Thanks so much for visiting today and checking out my Sunday Fun Day project for the Sisters in Stamping blog. This week we are sharing masculine projects since Father's Day is just a week away. I decided to use the Friends are like Seashells stamp set. Check out these fabulous samples and images in the Sand & Sea product suite from the January-June catalog. Great news - the stamp set and dies collection have carried over into the 2021-2022 annual catalog!! For someone who loves the beach like I do, this is fantastic!! Here is another view of my card - I created the background using three of the larger shell images from the stamp set... Continue reading

Hello and Happy Sunday! Thanks so much for visiting today and checking out my Sunday Fun Day project for the Sisters in Stamping blog. This week we are sharing projects featuring new catalog favorites. The 2021-2022 Annual Catalog debuted earlier this week and there are so many fun new products! I had a hard time choosing a favorite to feature in my project this week. Check out these fabulous samples and images in the You're a Peach product suite from the new Annual Catalog. I love the new 2021-2023 In Color Pale Papaya - it works perfectly with garden green for this fun peachy card. Here is another view of my card - I created the background using two images... Before I start my blog post for today, I wanted to share the news about my younger daughter Kelsey's graduation last weekend from the University of Kentucky. We were so fortunate and able to attend her in-person ceremony. I can't say enough how very proud we are - she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 as a Psychology Scholar and a double minor in Criminal Justice and Russian. What a wonderful four years she had in Lexington, KY - I'll miss visiting this great city. And now on to this week's project. Thanks so much for visiting today and checking out my Sunday Fun Day project for the Sisters in Stamping blog. This week we are sharing projects featuring... Continue reading

Thanks so much for visiting today and checking out my Sunday Fun Day project for the Sisters in Stamping blog. This week we are sharing Black & White with a pop of color projects. I really loved how my Mom's Mother's Day card turned out last weekend (see that post here), so once again turned to the True Love DSP from the January-June catalog for my cards. True Love 12" x 12" DSP, #154281 $11.50 Stitched So Sweetly Dies, #151690 $32.00 Positive Thoughts cling stamp set, #151490 $21.00 Check out how GORGEOUS these patterns are in the True Love DSP pack!!! Hi there and welcome to the May 2021 Stampers Dozen Blog Hop! This month we are sharing projects created using new favorite products from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog that was just released earlier this month. Have you had a chance to look it over? I instantly fell in love with the Hand-Penned product suite found on pages 104-105. The bundle includes the photopolymer stamp set and coordinating dies. The DSP is so beautiful, too! I created this card set that features two of the gorgeous patterns. I haven't used this card layout in a while, and decided to for these cards since the DSP is so pretty on both sides! It is really very simple, just figure out the center... Continue reading

Thanks so much for visiting!! Today we are taking a break over on the Sisters in Stamping blog, so I wanted to share the Mother's Day card I made for my Mom and a fun project I made for her gift at Board & Brush last night. If you haven't been to one of these workshops, they are so much fun! Last night's workshop had a Mother's Day theme, and everyone made this great wooden box with 3 mason jars filled with flowers. The box starts off as natural wood, and then you get to distress (a great de-stresser and lots of fun, although very loud), stain and paint it. The letters were painted on using a stencil, so it... Thanks so much for visiting today and checking out my Sunday Fun Day project for the Sisters in Stamping blog. This week's product spotlight was to feature punches in our projects. I made this card set featuring the Cat punch, using it as a silhouette, along with the beautiful Forever Greenery DSP (retiring in just a few days!). I CASE'd this design from a card that I created last year that you can see in this post. I love the cat punch - it's great for making this type of card. As a bonus, you have the actual punch to use in another project, too! I also used the beautiful Forever Greenery DSP which is retiring in a few days... Continue reading

Thanks so much for visiting today and checking out my Sunday Fun Day project for the Sisters in Stamping blog. I am so sorry to be a day late again posting this week's project, but it was a busy weekend with lots of family in town to celebrate my daughter Kelsey's 22nd birthday. This week we are sharing projects featuring this pretty color combination below: Sahara Sand, Rococo Rose and Merry Merlot. I came across this color combination on Pinterest (see it here) and thought it was beautiful! Sadly, Rococo Rose is retiring in a few days as it is part of the 2019-2021 In Color family. I am sure going to miss it! In addition to Rococo Rose, the... Continue reading
