Hello and Happy Friday! This week over on the Sisters in Stamping blog Rachel asked us to create Fabulous Friday projects featuring birds. Here is my project, a fun Christmas card featuring the Birds of a Feather stamp set and Wrapped in Plaid DSP stack. I really loved Karla's project a few months ago and used her card as inspiration for mine (see that card here). How cute is this little chick from the Birds of a Feather stamp set? I used the Pirate duckie image from this set last month for a Halloween favor (see that post HERE). I colored this little birdie image with my Stampin' Blends markers using the Cherry Cobbler and Daffodil Delight combos plus the... Continue reading

Hi there and welcome to the November 2019 Stampers Dozen Blog Hop! This month we are sharing Home Decor created with our favorite Stampin' Up! products. I decided to make a piece of framed art for my Mom, who is currently battling ovarian cancer for the third time in 5 years. She is a fighter and this sentiment from the Strong & Beautiful stamp set fits her perfectly. I was inspired and decided to CASE this gorgeous card that was created by Nancy Ferb (see that here) - the colors were perfect since the Ovarian cancer ribbon is teal. I used Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight and Coastal Cabana for my project. Here is a close-up of the ribbon. I cut... Continue reading

Hello and Happy Friday! Did you know that today is National Cappuccino Day? In honor of that, I asked my fellow designers over on the Sisters in Stamping blog to create Fabulous Friday projects inspired by Cappuccino. Here is my card, inspired by the colors of Cappuccino: crumb cake (rose), early espresso (detail outline and pine cones), soft suede (leaves and foliage) and very vanilla. My intention was for this to look like those old sepia-tinted photos and I think I pulled it off just like I saw it in my head. I kept the embellishment of this card super simple with just a knotted strip of the braided linen thread... it's definitely my go-to ribbon trim these days. Do... Continue reading

Hello and Happy Friday! Over on the Sisters in Stamping blog Karla asked us to create slider cards for our Fabulous Friday projects today. I will have to admit that I have seen these but never attempted one before. It took me a while to figure it out but following along with this tutorial from Splitcoaststampers really helped (link here). I decided to make a Thinking of You card and used my favorite product suite from the Annual catalog - Magnolia Lane. I just love the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set and coordinating DSP Magnolia Lane. Here is a close-up of the stamped panel. I totally cheated and fussy cut a flower from one of the DSP sheets. I kept... Continue reading

Hello and Happy Friday! Over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are sharing Halloween treats for our Fabulous Friday projects today. It's hard to believe that we are almost at the end of October already - it seems like Summer just ended. I decided to fill a clear envelope with chocolate kisses after cutting off the self-adhesive flap. These are great and so versatile because you can actually use them to mail cards AND use them as treat bags! I ordered the Birds of a Feather cling stamp set from the Holiday catalog because I thought the images were so cute. I am not a huge fan of coloring, but using the Stampin' Blends made it pretty easy. Isn't... Continue reading

Hello and Happy Friday! Over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are sharing projects inspired by Fall. Seven years ago I CASE'd a gorgeous card designed by the super talented Heather Telford for a Pinterest-inspired blog post (see that post here). I decided to CASE that card again using the Rooted in Nature stamp set and the gorgeous large tree image from it. Here is the original card created by Heather (link to it here). I just loved the simplicity of this card and the gorgeous sponged ink. Here is another view of my card. I love how easy this was to create using the Rectangle Stitched framelits - so much easier than sponging through a masked hole like... Continue reading

Hi there and welcome to the October 2019 Stampers Dozen Blog Hop! This month we are sharing Fall cards. Here in Central Virginia the leaves are just starting to turn - I hear that since we've been in a drought the last few months the colors are not supposed to be as pretty. So I decided to use the Rooted in Nature stamp set and the thumping technique with several stampin' write markers to create my own beautiful fall tree. Here is another view of my project. I used cajun craze, crushed curry and old olive ink pads to create my stamped leaf background on very vanilla card stock and sponged the edges with crumb cake ink. The sentiment and... Hello and Happy Friday! Over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are sharing cards created with this fun color combination that Karla chose: Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry, Poppy Parade and Whisper White. I decided to use the Beautiful You and Buffalo Check stamp sets along with the Stitched Nested Labels die to create my project. Here is another view of my card. I used the polka dot tulle ribbon for a little bit of added texture. Here is a close up of the image panel - I watercolored it using my aqua painter and the ink pads. Did you know that you can squeeze the ink pad and use the ink that is deposited on the lid? Here is... Continue reading

Hello and Happy Friday Sunday! Well, it happened again... time got away from me this week. Over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are sharing cards created with the Memories & More card packs from Stampin' Up! I used the Happiness Blooms kit (that you can now find on the Clearance Rack, but only while supplies last!) for my super quick and easy card this week. If you haven't purchased one of these card packs yet they are not only perfect for scrapbooking, but also for cardmaking in a flash! This pack is one of two currently available on the Clearance Rack right now - it's a great way to buy one to try when they are priced at... Continue reading

Hello and Happy Friday! This week over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are featuring Sympathy cards for our Fabulous Friday projects. We had to say goodbye to our sweet boy CJ last Friday. It was completely unexpected and cancer took him from us way too soon. My heart was broken and I had to take some time to mourn. This week I am back sharing a card that I made for a friend who also had to say goodbye to her little Noel last week. I used the Happy Tails stamp set and coordinating Dog Builder punch to make my clean and simple card. I also utilized the Tufted 3D embossing folder and Stitched Nested Labels die set... Hi there and welcome to the September 2019 Stampers Dozen Blog Hop! This month we are sharing "anything but a card" projects. I decided to make a fun candy favor that is super easy and features the great Magnolia Lane product suite. Here is a side view of my project. I put two miniature chocolate bars in a cello envelope and attached them to the inside of this pretty card stock and DSP wrapper. Who wouldn't love to leave a party with a pretty favor like this one? It's perfect for a bridal shower, baby shower or even as a small gift to give to co-workers, Sunday School classmates or even your neighbors. Take a look at it before I... Continue reading

Hello and Happy Friday! This week over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are featuring back-to-school projects because once again it is that time of year. My girls are back at college this week, ready to start classes on Monday, and my son has been in school since August 14th! It is hard to believe that summer vacation is over for them already. Having pretty notepads to write in makes school just a little less painful, don't you think? That's why I created this set of a covered notepad and post-it pad using the Free as a Bird stamp set and Magnolia Lane DSP. Here is a side-view of the notepad - it is an inexpensive one I picked... Hello and Happy Friday! This week over on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are featuring flowers in our Fabulous Friday card designs. I chose to use the Beautiful Friendship stamp set because I love the look of these flowers. Here is another view of my card - I stamped the flowers on a die-cut from the Stitched Nested Labels collection and used the Buffalo Check background stamp for the seaside spray card stock mat below. Lastly, I finished the card off with a bit of the ribbon from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon combo pack. My summer flowers are all in full bloom at my home and I wanted to recreate that look on my card - I chose Flirty... Continue reading

Hi there and welcome to the August 2019 Stampers Dozen Blog Hop! This month we are sharing sneak peek products from the upcoming Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog. By now many of my regular stampers should have received their catalogs in the mail - please let me know if you haven't. What is your favorite product suite? I have a few, but the Wrapped in Plaid is pretty high on my list. I just love the plaid DSP and the gold foil detail in the papers is really gorgeous. The font of the sentiments in the Perfectly Plaid stamp set are fantastic, too!! And who doesn't love a punch that perfectly cuts out multiple images from a stamp set - these... Continue reading
