Business to Business companies tell me that Inbound Internet Marketing is good for Business to Consumer business but is not a fit for them. WRONG! Social Media should be key part of marketing for any company that needs to build... Continue reading

The days of buying the whole pie are over. Small and medium size retailers were stuck with paying a lot money for advertising that they didn’t needed. The theory with Newspapers, Radio, Television and many other mainstream adverting is that... Continue reading

Last Presidential Election President Obama used Twitter in an effective way. It didn’t hurt to have one of the co-founders of Facebook helping him. Obama had many followers and followed many people (which is key). He used Twitter to promote... Continue reading

One of the only things holding up some Newspapers up is revenues from car dealerships. The Auto Industry spends more money on advertising than any other sector. For some reason Auto Dealerships are stuck on print. They are addicted. Once... Continue reading

I am not from here. I was born in New Jersey. I have spent over half my life here (25 years). I will die here. But I know the rules. I’m not part of the club. I came to Boston in 1980 as a freshman at Northeastern. The blizzard of ’78 was only two years old. Blue laws will in fully effect and all retail locations were closed on Sundays. And of course no booze was sold on Sundays. Kevin White was Mayor and ruled like a true Irish despot. The scars of the busing crises were still fresh. The... Continue reading

Well, you wonder why I always dress in black, Why you never see bright colors on my back, And why does my appearance seem to have a somber tone. Well, there's a reason for the things that I have on. I wear the black for the poor and the beaten down, Livin' in the hopeless, hungry side of town, I wear it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime, But is there because he's a victim of the times. I wear the black for those who never read, Or listened to the words that Jesus said, About... Continue reading

One it was first announced that the Queen would be visiting Ireland my first reaction was trepidation. It has been 100 years since a King or Queen of England has come to Ireland. Is Ireland ready for a visit from the Queen? What are the goals for her visit? What will the Irish do when she is in Ireland? Pondering these questions caused a very uneasy feeling. It was perfectly understandable why the Queen was coming. Ireland and England are major trading partners. The Irish and English economies are intertwined. English and Irish culture have blurred over the years as... Continue reading

Twitter what the hell? I signed into my Twitter account the other day and I was asked to participate in a survey. Plus I was told that I had a chance to win a new “IPad”. Well it is Twitter…right? So it must be on the up and up. I clicked on the survey and was taken to a terrible land of false promises and other low end techniques to pry my personal information from me. I was shocked. Twitter is my major news source. When something happens I turn to Twitter. I have made “lists” for certain coverage (News,... Continue reading

Few things give as much pleasure as baseball. It is slow and boring but at the same time filled with intriguing stats that can make the game as cerebral as you wish. Four to five hours of bliss. It you don’t get it you don’t get it. Now it’s Opening Day. A glorious time of year as the winter season of New England is ending and the hope of temperatures in the 50’s (maybe 60’s) are on the horizon. I take this time to review my personal predictions and awards for the upcoming season. The Team that will finally win... Continue reading

President Obama will go down in history as the greatest President in my lifetime. The President likes to use the phrase. "Right side of history." There is one issue where I think the present administration in on the wrong side of history. Banks claim that they are helping people refinance their homes. Especially helping those that have hurt by the sub-prime mortgage crises. This is not happening The banks have been bailed out and are making huge profits. By borrowing money at 0% from the Federal Government and lending it at from 5% to 25% they better be making money.... Continue reading
