"Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore." (Psalms 125:1-2) My wife and I have been on vacation this week and had the pleasure spending a day visiting Providence Canyon State Park in Georgia. It is a State Park that I had only read about and had only heard about, but never visited. It is a beautiful park known as Georgia's "Little Grand Canyon" with gorgeous rock formations and caves, along with a surprised deer or... Continue reading

"God...made us alive with Christ...And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus." (Ephesians 2:4-6) Many years ago, I was fortunate enough to visit Chicago on a business trip. I was working for a financial company and was asked to visit a State Court there in Chicago to testify on behalf of my company. This was my first visit to the Windy City (and so far, only trip) so I was not so much interested in the business purpose of my visit as I was seeing the big City. I... Continue reading

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." (Galatians 6:9) Over the past several months, my wife and I have been spending weekends with my Father-in-Law to help out around his house. In his adult life, he worked to maintain his farming heritage by maintaining gardens of vegetables and fruits such as strawberries and blueberries. At this season... Continue reading

"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (Psalm 6:33) I was recently at my father-in-laws house searching for some space to store additional items. I found an old storage room that was piled with years and years worth of various items. We all have those places in our homes; closets and shelves that become permanent home to things we haven't used in decades. I know in my case, I always think I may need a particular item at some point in the future, so I am afraid to... Continue reading

"Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, Lord. " (Psalm 89:14) It's so easy in today's world to let "life" get you down. Each of us goes through the days, weeks, months, and years trying to make the best with what each day brings. I know there have been days in my own life where I look at events and wonder "why" or "how." I wonder how things may have turned out differently had I made different decisions. I wonder why certain things happened the way they did. Many times,... Continue reading
