This is also my all time favorite book. It is the best love story ever. I have it on my iPod and anytime we make a long trip somewhere I listen to it while I'm driving (good for blocking out the kids). We'll be driving to Kansas in a week or so and I will be listening to it again. I can't wait for the movie. I will be seeing it in the Theater (something that doesn't happen very often) and plan on taking lots of tissues. Yes, all time favorite. You're not alone.

AMEN to all of this! Our mailmen wear the uniform and hat. They are walking mailmen and I love it. It also makes me crazy when people are so rude and disrespectful to our flag. Fantastic post.

Oh good gravy. The one time I wanted to find out the gender, the baby was being super modest and shy. We were finally able to see the 3 white lines that indicated a girl. I didn't believe it until she was here though. Hopefully the next 4 weeks will speed by for you :)

I really appreciate this post. My daughter died when she was 8 months old. People will often say that my grief is so much more than theirs, but whatever you are feeling is real and is real grief for that. I wrote about grief in two different posts in January, you might enjoy them. http://prairie-mama.blogspot.com/2009/01/losspart-1.html http://prairie-mama.blogspot.com/2009/01/losspart-2_15.html

Oh this made me laugh out loud. Blow it out their asses indeed. I gain weight that is all there is to it. I didn't even weigh myself with this last baby though, I didn't want to see the gain. This is awesome Jen.

I will also add my thanks. Thank you also Aviva for writing about this tragedy. It doesn't matter what you believe or think -- it is not ok to kill someone because of it. It really is so saddening.

Thanks so much Kori. You are so right, we all just do the best we can with what we have. And on that note, I think I might go tackle the mess that is my Kitchen.

Oh how I love these. The grumpy girl fits my mood right now. I am trying to repurpose a skirt and stink at zippers, blah. Seeing that cute girl is exactly what I needed tonight :)

Thank you for this much needed reminder. The paper that is strewn all over my house, and that subsequently ends up in the the babys mouth, only to be discovered when it is in her diaper, will all too soon be gone, as will the sounds of my laughing children. Thanks Amanda.

Oh Molly, I am sure that is heartbreaking. I find that not only do things hurt me, but then I hurt thinking about how it will effect my children. So very sorry...stupid fox. :(

I feel this way very often also. There are some nights when we sit down to eat and I look at the clock and it is almost 7:00! That is just crazy. One thing I have been trying to do is have dinner done and ready when my husband gets home from work. If we can eat and be done by 6:30, then we could have time for a game or two. But, on nights when my children let me know that hey are in charge and I can't get dinner done...well, then I just try really hard to make the most of the time together that we have. My husband gets the older two ready for bed, teeth brushed, and stories read while I get the baby to bed. It gives him some much needed time with the kids. I do make sure we eat dinner together every night, no exceptions. That is one way that we can all reconnect after the long day.

Oh that is really wild. I've never seen anything like that before, but again, we don't have chickens. What a fun learning experience for your girls.

Ok, perfect Mother's day? First, I would get to sleep in until I woke up on my own. Then, I'd get chocolate chip pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream, green smoothie and veggie eggs in bed :) I wouldn't have to change a diaper all day, my hubby would get the kids dressed for Church and they would act like the angels that they aren't while we are there ;) They also would not fight or whine all day long. When we get home, hubby would make me a delicious dinner (I'm not sure what yet, but something yummy) and lemon pound cake with strawberries for dessert (I love strawberries). The day would end with me swinging on the porch swing I've been dreaming about for years while watching my children play in the front yard. That would be a perfect day.
