Hi there everyone! I'm thrilled to be here with you today and share this fun little project. It seems that after the holidays have passed I'm always in a purging & organizing state of mind. I love it when things are cleaned up and everything is is in its' place. So to help me with that process my kids have a new system as well. I must admit that they've been pretty good at helping out around here but we all slack off a bit sometimes so I thought that I would make it somewhat fun for them once they've... Continue reading

Happy Holidays!!! Are you getting excited yet? I am!!!! I just love this time of the year! I love decorating my home for the holidays and today I am thrilled to share with you this super easy Christmas/Winter frame that I made using some Simple Stories products. I used a black frame that I had from Ikea and on the inside I cut a piece of patterned paper (Blue Snowflake/Chevron) from the December Documented collection. I then adhered a 3x4 Journaling Elements card over top of that (which I'd matted onto a piece of white cardstock). I cut out some... Continue reading

It's December 1st! Who else is excited about that? I know I sure am! That means the countdown can begin! And to help with that process I created this super fun Advent Calendar. You can fill the boxes with little treats, messages, quotes, holiday traditions to do that day, etc. The list is endless and be changed up every year. I used my Silhouette and THIS cut file that you can purchase in the Silhouette Online Store. It was quite easy to put together. I chose to use white cardstock for my frame because of the contrast with the patterned... Continue reading

Hi everyone! I'm excited to share some double paged layouts with you today. These layouts were part of a class that I recently taught at an event in British Columbia called BC's Crop for Kids. The event raises money for BC's Children's Hospital. It's an incredible event and they raise so much money each year. This year one of my classes included the Vintage Bliss collection. This is such a beautiful collection. I paired it up with Core'dinations Colorcore Cardstock and created two double paged spreads. This is a rare thing for me because I don't usually do double paged... Continue reading

This month my daughter headed off to Grade 8. Rather a big deal! She played it cool (even though Mama here knows otherwise. :)) This month Simple Stories has teamed up with Kiwi Lane Designs and we got some super fun templates to work with. I received three different sets (Tiny Brackets Accessory, Journey Accesory, and Sunnybrook Lane). These are super fun templates and I wanted to incorporate one template from each of these collections on to my layout. I used the Smarty Pants collection to create my page. There's so many great colors and designs in this collection. I... Continue reading

Please don't hate me for saying it. But can you believe it? I have to admit that I'm usually the last person to start thinking about Christmas and getting ready for the holidays. But, I'm hoping to get a head start on it this year and be a bit more organized. (famous last words huh? LOL! :)) Plus I've already got a head start because I was able to create some holiday cards using the amazing new December Documented collection. This release is absolutely gorgeous! The first card I created is more on the traditional & classic side. I used... Continue reading

Hi there. It's Cari with you today. I love summer! It means lots of family time with my kiddos. And every year we go strawberry picking. They actually look forward to it. So I decided to scrapbook some pictures of our 'picking' adventure from last summer. This new Simple Stories release, I {Heart} Summer is amazing!! When I was creating my projects for today I didn't want to stop ( ... the ideas just kept coming! So I've got a list for a few more projects. :)) My first layout "Sweet Summer Memories" uses quite a few items from this... Continue reading

Hi there! Cari with you today. I've got a couple of layouts to share with you and a fun little card as well. As I was going through my photos I came across some of my boys and their cousin. I thought the colors went great with the 24/7 collection ... plus the theme of the whole collection was a good fit as well. I decided to create a more 'grid' style layout and cut various pieces of patterned paper forming 3 rows of paper and photos. I created the sombrero and #3 using my Cricut Expression 2, .... ...... Hello. It's Cari with you today. I'm so excited to share a project with you that I created using the beautiful Vintage Bliss collection. I am in love with this collection. Absolutely smitten! I used Core'dinations Colorcore cardstock on the cover of my album (covering 2 pieces of chipboard - 4 1/4" x 6 1/4") After adhering the cardstock to the chipboard I then sandedthe embossed images and edges. I embellished the cover with a butterfly sticker and another 'tag' type sticker tip: to remove the sticky backing on the sticker and use it as a tag I just rubbed... Continue reading

Good morning! Cari here sharing some layouts with you today. When I received the Vintage Bliss collection I was in complete awe. Now you must understand one thing, when it comes to scrapbooking I'm not normally a 'pastel' kind of person. Those aren't the colors that catch my eye. However, this collection most certainly did. The shades, color combinations (especially that turquoise my favorite color) really grabbed my attention. So I decided to create some layouts with the beautiful new release. The first layout that I want to share with you is called "Being Together". It's about my daughter &... Continue reading

Hi there! I love the rich, warm colors of the "Take a Hike" collection. They just scream nature and outdoors to me. Growing up, my family went camping every single summer and I have so many great memories from those many trips. I haven't camped in a few decades however, and not too sure how I would cope now. But taking my kids on hikes is always a fun family outing. Living in BC we are blessed with many beautiful mountains and so many incredible places to go hiking. These pictures are from one of our little family trips to... Continue reading

I love being able to create layouts in a short amount of time & not have to spend hours & hours (or sometimes even days). That's why I absolutely adore Simple Stories Sn@p collection. It is so versatile - going with pretty much any theme that you can possibly think of! I used the Sn@p collection to create two 12x12 layouts. The first one is about my daughter turning 12. Still can't believe that I gave birth to her twelve years ago. How time flies. I decided to keep the layout relatively monochromatic and stick with the turquoise designs. I... Continue reading

I am so in love with this collection! Harvest Lane just warms my heart with the rich colors and designs that it offers. Today I'm going to share with you a layout that I created using this fabulous collection. After begging my husband and kids to let me have a little family photo shoot they finally co-operated. (but trust me ... it wasn't easy!) Good thing I had a remote because everyone had a chance to play with it & that seemed to warm them up to the whole smiling idea for the camera! Anyways, onto my layout. I used... Continue reading

Hi there! I'm excited to share some projects with you today. These are classes that I will be teaching later on this month on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. One of my classes is a Christmas Card class. Of course there was no better name to give it than "Handmade Holiday" which is the name of this fabulous SS collection. I used the 6x6 paper pad and Fundamental Cardstock Stickers along with some fabulous Core'dinations Cardstock. I can't wait to teach this. Here's a look at the cards. Here's a few close up shots. Another classes that I'm teaching is this... Continue reading

Hi there! Wow! I can't believe that our summer vacation has come to a close and my kiddos head back to school tomorrow! While I have thoroughly enjoyed spending these last 2 months with them 24/7 I must admit that I am looking forward to them going back to school, getting back into a regular routine again and having a house that stays clean for a few hours each day!!! Plus I always look forward to the fall season because I love the coziness of the time of year and anything related to pumpkins just makes me smile! (especially pumpkin... Continue reading

It's that time of the year when we still need to have some kind of routine otherwise we all would go crazy in this household. Now I must be honest, my intentions for this project and outcome are high and probably won't be met often but it does give me and my children a bit of 'routine' during the summer months. And even though school is out we still need routine! So decided to create this Summer Schedule for my kiddos. I used Summer Fresh collection as it was just PERFECT for this project. The 6x12 Page Elements were a... Continue reading

Hi there! I am in love with the new Summer Fresh collection! (and as you can see from the posts recently our entire team is feeling the same way!) When I looked through the entire collection of papers, stickers and various Elements I was quickly inspired by the 4x6 Vertical Journaling Card Elements. Today I want to share with you just how simple it is to create a set of beautiful cards using a single sheet of white cardstock and this 4.x6 patterned sheet ... as well as a few stickers from the same collection. My first card I cut... Continue reading

I must admit that I am not the type of scrapbooker who pulls out all the tools and gizmos to scrap with. I like things simple and I like my embellishments simple. I'm too impatient to wait for things to dry, etc. I like it "here" & "now" ... that is why I just LOVE Simple Stories collections. They help me create amazing pages in no time and have everything that I need. Yesterday my hubby & I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary. I really wanted to create a layout about this but didn't have a recent picture so I... Continue reading
