Yay! I have my fabrics picked out and posted in Flickr. I am always a little surprised at how BIG Amy Butler bags turn out, but with two kids I somehow always manage to find a use for all that space ;)

Oh I'm totally in! I've already made one bag from the book and I LOVE it! Great idea!
A Monthly Bag Challenge for 2011
Beginning in January, I am hosting a sewing challenge. Each month, I am making a bag from Amy Butler's book, Style Stitches (click the link to view each bag). I would love for you to join me! There are 12 chapters in the book, so, in January I will make the bag from chapter 1, and just go in or...
I have two little girls with BIG personalities, so I'd love to win this book!
Little Girls, Big Style Book Blog Tour (My turn!)
Okay, so I'm Mary's slow friend. I knew she was up to something but I could not, for the life of me, guess what. Well finally, some time early this year, Mary put me out of my misery and spilled the beans that she was finishing up a book and it was close to being done. Once I saw the picture ...
Beautiful! My daughter would LOVE the blue one. And how crazy was that Vikings stadium video? I keep watching it because it's just so incredible.
a yarny little giveaway day!
Today is Giveaway Day. I started reading Sew Mama Sew (though I don't have kids and I don't really sew very often), because I have friends with kids and I love interesting crafting talk. It's hard for me to get all of the crafting done that I want to do, because I'm interested in a little bit ...
That song was so cute! Reminds me of this song/singer here in the US: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AJmKkU5POA

Well that's just ridiculously cute! My MIL had a Scottie when she was a kid that she still talks about- I'd love to give this to her!
Swoop! Scotty softie giveaway!
As usual, I'm just about to scoot out the door and slipping in a quickie post. Vicky and I are heading up to McKinney for our annual shopping excursion, but I had to get this little guy up here! He's all spiffed up for the holidays with a big red satin bow and a trio of blue berries around his...
How cute! My 18mo would love those!
A Colorful Giveaway
As part of SewMamaSew's May giveaway, I'm offering this lovely set of handmade crayons in a drawstring bag. They are a nice size for Toddler hands and are also great for doing rubbings of tree bark, stones, (I especially like gravestone rubbings) or textured objects in your home. I'm happy...
What gorgeous fabric!!! I love that shade of blue!
May Day Giveaway
So here it is my giveaway. I will leave this post open until May 31st. This is my first time participating in a giveaway and I am very excited. Please leave a comment and I will pick a winner randomly!
My current favorite is Wonderland by Momo, but I always like Urban Chiks and Erin Michael and and and... But if I had to pick one, right now, it's Momo!
Moda love (and something to win!)
A day or two... five.... who's counting, right? Anyway, I'm back. For a minute or two, at least. I have really been slacking with my blog lately. Sorry... I'll try to be better! I thought it would be fun to highlight each of the Moda designers in their booths (and a little closer up too...
Hmm- All time favorite? I've only been in "the game" for about 6 months, but Moda's Wonderland line was the first one that made me go WOW and get a bit obsessive!
May Giveaway Day!!!
Yay! It's Giveaway Day again!! I'm so happy to take part in Sew Mama Sew's May Giveaway Day! I joined in back in December and it was lots of fun and I made lots of new friends! I'm trying to think of a creative way to pick the winner but it's late and my brain is out of gas so I'm going...
My sewing teacher makes colorful pillowcases for our local children's hospital, and I've been meaning to find out if they need more!

My First Give-a-Way!!!!
Sew Mama Sew is hosting another Blog Give-a-Way Day. The last one seemed like a lot of fun so I decided to join in. I figured if I was going to enter why not also give. Now my sister and I just run a little blog. It is a great way for us to keep in touch since she is in NJ and I am current...
I like to donate to my local animal shelter. What little I can donate goes so much farther for a small local group than for a large international organization. Since they have to wash things so often, handmade isn't a great option for them, but this post has inspired me to see if they'd be interested in something handmade to sell in their gift shop!
May Giveaway Day!
And a plan for more random acts of kindness. It seems I have a kindness inferiority complex. A lot of people in my world (NOT my friends, just my colleagues) are DRIVEN. I'm not going to try to argue that they don't have to be. I don't know, maybe they do. BUT, I don't happen to believe that b...
Oh my word!!! I looove Little Golden Books!!! That is so cool.
Fabric 2 point faux
I have to say it's getting very hard to blog right now. See I wanted a book to read on the plane ride home from Pittsburgh so Joey got Twilight for me and I'm having a hard time putting it down (I'm just past the halfway point). But I will try here (because I don't want to disappoint anyone, r...
My perfect Mother's Day would be breakfast with my hubby and my girls (made by them while I sleep in!), followed by uninterrupted QUIET sewing time for the rest of the day, maybe with a little time for a nap thrown in!
MOTHER'S DAY GIVEAWAY
As you all know, I have been planning on having another give-away for quite a while now, but I wanted to wait for a special occasion... So here it is, for all those soon to be mommies, new mommies, or more experienced mommies... this is your time to get pampered by me. So once again, I'm giving ...
Every time I go in a fabric shoppe I decide I need a wall like that! Gorgeous!
She so gets me!!
This wall speaks to me!! I just wanted to say thanks to Jona from Fabritopia for her love of color..I discovered this photo when I was on her blog the other day and it made me so happy!! When you see the Sis Boom fabrics all together it makes me swoon. Now if only every room in every house acr...
I LOVE the fabric on that top! Which PR pattern is it, it looks great!
And I have to say, the calendar behind you cracked me up, it really looks like that snake is going after your little chicky! :D
Hello from PA!
Hi everyone! I'm Jenni, a relatively new re-fashionista from Pennsylvania, about an hour north of Philadelphia. I learned to sew through 4-H when I was younger and did so for abotu 10 years. I now knit, sew, and am in the process of learning to crochet. I've recently discovered some great thrift...
Oh, I LOVE those pants!!! Adorable! As a fellow beginner, I'm inspired :D Great work!
Bags are an easy start!
Thanks for all the positive comments re: my last post about being new and a non-sewer! All really helpful, so a BIG thank you! I've had a very productive weekend so far, and decided to practice (learn!) some basic sewing skills by making-up bags from my old maternity tops! I'm actually quite ha...
I love it! Looks great! :D
Hello 2009!
Hi everyone! Welcome to 2009, it's going to be a great year. You may have noticed that i have given the site a little makeover (if you're in your blog reader then click through to check it out). What do you think? I loved the last look but it was 2 years old and i felt the site needed a brig...
Thanks all! Alisa- It was SUPER easy (once I figured out the best way to go about it- I started out making it way more complicated than it needed to be). It was a great first project.
Nope, not vintage fabric- I got it at a WONDERFUL local quilting store that went out of business. I bought a ton of fabric there a couple of years ago, when learning to sew was still a gleam in my eye. :) I cut off the selvage so I don't know what it is, but I want to say it was with all the Jane Sassaman stuff?
First Official Refashion
I bought this shirt a year ago, when I had a new baby and needed something blue to wear to my older daughter's birthday party. I wore it for the party and haven't worn it since. It was a little too short and I HATE tightly cuffed sleeves. Also, it was just plain boring! It was destined for th...
That quilt is fantastic! And I love the skirt, I have a hard time finding things that will button up at the top too.
a skirt and some baby gifts
Yay! This is my first "real" post. I'm just going to post the finished pictures so that I don't take up to much space. But if you want more info or to see the before pictures visit my blog :)
