When not playing or acting silly with my three kiddos, I knit and sew and quilt and bake and take lots of photos. Then I blog about it here.

Love how you used the black fabrics in your quilt top. Congratulations on your book - it's just lovely!

Sending you best wishes for this weekend. Enjoy the race. Slow and steady - you can do it! And your bed is made (first photo)- looks like you're doing well in 2014. I have yet to make mine!

Love the color and how you are stitching around the fabric design. My quote for this year is "do not hurry. do not rest." Everything will get done - just not necessarily right now! Have a great weekend!

Love the pink binding for your star quilt. Totally agree with the comments on bias edges - I've been working with them a lot lately and they require extra care. That needlepoint looks like so much fun - enjoy!

Gorgoeus photos of your kiddos! I think it has to do with Spring and the light - I can't stop daydreaming about making either.

Love the first photo with all those lovely bits of Liberty on your cutting mat. And your pincushion is just perfect. Can't stop sewing these days either - it's what keeps me sane.

Love these bags! They fit a ton but have a beautifully structured piece on top. And i just went to my own tutorial to sew an apron - it's not that we're getting old, it's just there's gosh darn so much to remember! Love your work so much!

As always, I love your sense of color and style. You always seem to come up with new ideas that are still clean looking and oh, so, wearable!

Awesome post! I love your writing. Love truly is in the little things - thanks for putting it into words so beautifully. And you should post more often - i think posts are often better when we don't have anything "great" to report!

Sarah, ours is the hub of our house too. And it always has at least one electronic device, one book and one snack/meal that no one cleaned up on it too. Your tablecloth is so cheery and bright. As you can see I no longer even try to use tablecloths because at our house we can barely get through one meal without a spill! You asked about our table - it's the Sourav dining table from World Market\Cost Plus. We've only had it 6 months but it's a big, sturdy table with a lot of surface area and it cleans up easily with a wet cloth. Right now it's listed for $499 but about every other month they have a furniture sale and they'll let you know if you get on their emailing list (plus they also send 20% off coupons)- we got ours for $400. Thanks so much for playing along. Yesterday was a busy, completely nutty day during which i couldn't get to the computer until really late and I would've never posted had it not been for this little project of ours. I'm so glad we're doing this together!

Your garden is wonderful. I miss our raised beds full of enriched soil. Your rainbow chard looks so beautiful and yummy. And how awesome is that little red carrot! In the meantime, we're buying all our produce from a local farm - out of a truck parked in a books-a-million parking lot. Love that you're able to grow so much of the food your family eats!

I do not enjoy hand stitching the binding down one bit either. Love the colors and how you chose to make each block it's own color accented by the yellow - just left a comment on beki's post about color blocking and how much I am loving it. I'm going to try to work with color blocks a bit and see what I come up with. Your girl will LOVE this - a quilt made with love truly does make the best gift ever!

Love how your sweet C, with those perfect baby fingers is going for the fabric! These are wonderful. I'm all about color blocking right now too. I'm even dressing in color blocks - right now i'm wearing a green tee with blue capris and yellow flats. Love your style - I may need a new bag...!

How impressive are you! Love the pleated bottom on the bag. Love the colors you chose for your stars - i like the strong blues and reds so much better than the 'soft' colors that so many fabrics seem to come in.
