The last time I blogged, I wrote about putting things off and then finally getting around to doing it. After finishing my application for residency the other day, it dawned on me that I am being too hard on myself... Continue reading

There is so much to love about here. I have often said that it is just this spot that I fell in love with. It just happens to be in France. It had always been easy to be here with... Continue reading

Until last night, I had been sleeping upstairs in my bed very comfortably. Recently, coming downstairs in the mornings the fire would be out and very difficult to restart. All day yesterday I was remembering all the years that I... Continue reading

Looking for inspiration here, I stumbled on this photo of the barn from last year when the roof was finished and she was looking truly beautiful. Maybe I should say, MORE beautiful than she already was. It's an amazing feeling... Continue reading

So many things give me joy from here. Frankly, here is joy! I guess it kind of goes along with the feelings that I have about this being a place of the spirit of Christmas all year long! You can... Continue reading

Image reviewing my life this morning and feeling a focus on everything that has changed or "gone wrong!" It was that being hard on myself kind of place...not doing enough, no energy, being happy to just sit around and read,... Continue reading

As we all try to sort out our lives with this pandemic, I am constantly grateful that I am in this place. There is a peace in this place that is indescribable. It leaves me speechless regularly, but I still... Continue reading

This will forever be a favorite shot of mine, a heart in the trees hanging over Mahogany Oaks. One of the hardest things about the pandemic for me was not being able to get over to see Mike and John,... Continue reading

When a friend of mine saw the photo above, he said: "You must really enjoy your own company!" I thought it was an odd comment. But, after I thought about it for a bit...he was a person who couldn't be... Continue reading

This is absolutely one of my favorite pictures of Eric and Louie. As you can see, both are photogenic. Many people were lifelines for me while I was in New Orleans for an extended period of time this round, but... Continue reading

Today, I'm struggling from over here in Cadrieu. Before I went to bed here last night, I discovered that the FBI in cooperation with state and local law enforcement, had thwarted the possible kidnapping and harm to Michigan's Governor, Gretchen... Continue reading

Yesterday, I posted a profile frame on FB around my photo that said VOTE-Have a Plan. As I looked at that frame, I thought it was suggesting that we needed to have a plan of action for after we VOTE... Continue reading

I believe that everyone should vote. I vote religiously and have rarely missed an election. I always make sure that I am set to be able to vote my absentee ballot from France, and that all my paperwork is in... Continue reading

It is no secret that I am a lover of stamps. I'm the one who goes into post offices all over the world and asks for some of the "pretty ones"-collecting I learned that these were the "commemoratives!" I'm also... Continue reading

You'll laugh, Niels...but every time I see that photo (and the one with the rake in NOLA) I think of you because I know it's one of your favorites. Once again-what amazing memories we've shared. You and Bodil are so special to me-and, to have been able to share NOLA and Cadrieu is quite a share in my book. It means even more to me in these times of so little travel and social contact. You and Bodil are the best-I am so grateful to be here and not in the states. There is certainly more chance of visiting from here than there, but really-staying put is just the best option for all of us until we can see more of what we are dealing with. Miss you and Lot of Love from the Lot to you Both-Laury

Yesterday's celebration to honor our former Mayor and Administrative Assistant, was set to be held out on the outside terrace of the Mairie. That provided us with an "outside venue" where we would still mask and socially distance. Well, as... Continue reading

I confess that prior to buying the Chatette in 2002 and coming to live here in 2006; I never really gave much thought to having or not having a life. I'm sure the requirements for feeling like you have a... Continue reading

Since I've returned home to Cadrieu, there have been many facts to face. Once again in my life, everything feels new and different. I have talked regularly about doing the "dangle dance," swirling puzzle pieces," and wishing that things would... Continue reading

I should warn you that this is a "soapbox" post. I struggled with what photos I had that could make such a serious topic still an interesting post. Of course, sheep! I love these guys. I've teased in previous posts... Continue reading

Hi Lynn-so nice to hear from you here-and, unusual! I hadn't heard that Hebrew chant, but it does certainly sound like it fits. I'm guessing that the pronunciation would be very pretty! All is well here. I'm very grateful to be here and to have been able to get here when I did. Hope you and Bill are doing well-Love, Laury
