I'm waiting on a spoonflower order even as I sit and drink my tea and read your post! Love your newest idea for keeping your children's art vivid and present.
collaborating on a feather
You might have noticed that I've been making some tweaks to the blog design in the past week. Here and there, in little bursts of time late at night, it's getting closer to where I want it to be. Web design, clearly, is not what I do, and despite my best DIY intentions, it may be that I need ...

So good to read your words again, Eren.
numbered
I felt it yesterday on the soccer field, in jeans and long sleeves, reading the Fall issue of Urban Farm magazine, coffee in hand. Our days of summer are numbered here. Autumn is fast approaching. There is so much to do. Harvest, put away, freeze, can the tomatoes, the herbs, the squash a...

Hello there.
I feel like the blog has been neglected a bit lately. And when I start feeling that way, I also feel that I need to check in even though I don't really have much to share. I know it's my space and that I can do what I please, but I like it here even when there isn't much going on. So, hi. I ...
Darling doesn't even begin to describe these. I may have to steal them from you they're that good.
I think about you often, please know that.
Buckets for Baby Things.
With only about six weeks left to go, I'm starting to realize that the pre-baby to-do list is a little on the lengthy side. The crib is assembled and nestled into a little alcove opposite our bed, and the bedroom walls have been repainted, so a few things have gotten done. But there are qu...
This is why I visit you so often--your posts are so beautifully inspiring. Not just the chair, and how it was made, which is wonderful, but also the shelf, the found rocks, the small bowl, books for reading and browsing, the collage. The thoughtfulness you give to your family's surroundings. The joy you find in making things, which feeds the grownup in you. Thank you~
and be kind
This little lovely was headed for a burn pile (literally). What's that, you say? A burn pile is precisely where it belongs? Well, that's just what my parents said, and Steve said, as it was sent away not once but twice. Oh, but I got it back, and knew I only had a matter of time to do somethin...
I love reading your blog, Molly, for its grounding force and how you gently show all sides of mothering. Thank you for this beautiful essay.

Eren, you write about many things, but I am always deeply drawn to your thoughts on motherhood. Love you.

so beautiful--I love absolutely everything about it, the choice of linen, the colors, the ribbon, the rick rack, the bib shape, the embroidery.
And yes, the mama bird is so sweet and just that artful surprise the design needs.
can you tell I love it? thank you so much for sharing your pattern and design with us.

What a wonderful idea. Please come back and show us when it's done.
Your fabric gift to Amanda was gorgeous and they definitely did it justice.
Teacher Quilt (s)
So, my hands haven't touched my sewing machine since I finished this quilt. But its time to jump back in with both feet. The end of the year is quickly approaching and end of the year teacher gifts have been on my mind. I've remember Erin's gorgeous quilt using school children's drawings. ...
I adore Fresh Squeezed--I probably buy more fabric from that store than any other. Thank you so much for this giveaway.

Jolly good!
I've come over all patriotic and preparations are underway for a right Royal Wedding knees up here tomorrow. I'm enjoying a bit of whimsical decorating thanks to these free printables. And Cherry's Union Jack art idea here. Bottoms up!
what an awesome book! thank you for sharing!
a book about how stuff works
This book, Joe Kaufman's What Makes It Go? What Makes It Work? What Makes It Fly? What Makes It Float? is one of our favorites. I bought it used a few years back after Sadie and I fell in love with it at a local cafe. It was just sitting there in the toy bin and we couldn't believe h...
I just love the colors of the beach-y quilt. Can hardly wait to see it done. And the yarn is yummy too.
I have pants to patch, a little towel project I need to blog about, a fitted shirt for my boy (taking a class!), and a dress for my girl. Thinking about joining in Elsie Marley's Kids' Clothes Week Challenge. Ack. We shall see.
I also spotted that you're watching Jane Eyre '06--hope you enjoyed every bit as much as I did!! (If you haven't seen it yet, you might want to also rent The Tenant of Wildfell Hall. It's darker than Jane Eyre--not for kids for sure--but the 1997 version was very well done.)

It's amazing that they felt so safe to frolic about. I can well remember your fox posts and I'm so glad you were able to memorialize such a special time.
The Day Everything Changed
Long afterwards, she was to remember that moment when her life changed direction. ~ Evelyn Anthony Just over a year ago I was sitting at my desk. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed something moving in the front yard and when I turned to look I noticed the fox I had been seeing for months. ...
