It's been ages since I've posted (I'm separated from my sewing machine this semester), but I wanted to share my halloween costume. I was a dia de los muertos style figure. The base of the costume is a thrifted black... Continue reading

It's been a long while since my last post. I haven't bought anything retail, and I have been wearing a few of my refashioned things as major staples in my wardrobe. But what about the refashions which I haven't been... Continue reading

So, this is actually the second pair of these leggings I've made (I'd been wearing the first pair all the time, and needed something to wear when I have to wash them :). The first pair was from a pair... Continue reading

When the notion of paying was first raised, I thought it would be $5 US a month or less. I am very surprised how much it ended up being. I've been reading this blog pretty much everyday for a year, and have probably posted 10 projects or so. I've really enjoyed it and have loved some of the ideas and recommendations other members gave. And the supportive feedback was amazing! I don't have a blog I'm trying to draw traffic to, or an etsy store; I just really liked engaging with you all :) If anyone starts a new free place to post refashion projects I hope to hear about it.

It was cute before but I love the change you made: it is much more polished and interesting with the waistband.

A while ago everyone was doing men's shirts to dresses, so here is my very late submission on that theme. This was a mixed experiment. First: roughly a bodice pattern I used a while ago from a traced commercial dress... Continue reading

I've been wanting some moccasins for a while. Found some totally bland tan ones at the Salvation Army for $1.99 which had tan leather stitching on the toe. So I just used some sharpies to up the contrast a bit... Continue reading

The spats idea is out of this world. Love it!!! Also, I love the neckline you did on the first dress and I would definitely add some kind of belt (maybe not even to the dress, just a thick ribbon tie type of things) since while the pattern is very beautiful it is a bit small for the large area of the full length skirt.

very cute! I like the way the seams on the bodice section interact with the print.

I really love the dress. The top has a cool graphic effect and the bottom looks so free and easy.

I bought a crazy vintage 80s dress on ebay a few months ago. The print was amazing but it was mid-calf long and shapeless. I just got around to hemming it: The belt helps a lot I think. Actually, to... Continue reading

In upstate we've been snowed in on and off too. The red version of the sweater you're knitting looks amazing...cozy and very elegant at the same time. Good luck :)
