I’ve been really into snazzing up T-shirts recently. Though I’m not a huge fan of T’s I guess I can’t ignore their practicality right now. Sooo I’m making an effort to make them more interesting. And I really love how... Continue reading

I’ve been wanting to make a skirt like this since last year, when my favourite vintage store Ramona West, listed a whole bunch of skirts reworked from vintage mens shirts. Mine obviously looks slightly different though, as it isn’t as... Continue reading

This is a crazy quick refashion – no joke. 10 minutes max, and that was with my toddler “assisting” me (read: pulling all my sewing gear off the table) along the way! I got this idea when the hunt for... Continue reading

I found a huge tshirt a few months ago in one of our many boxes of clothing that doesn’t get worn. I’m pretty sure it’s a Qantas freebee (tipped off by the logo on the front!). I really wanted to... Continue reading

Well I have a little more maternity refashioning to share with you all! True to my sappy/nostalgic/hoarding nature, this top started off as a men's dress shirt, in fact it's the shirt my husband wore on our very first date.... Continue reading

Thanks Care! That's so nice of you :) I don't think you'd be crazy to do that. It's hard to change high waisted pants to have a lower rise. I think as long as you did it neatly you could get away with it, and maybe if you used elastic that is the width of a normal pants waistband it would blend better? (most maternity pants have a wide band like mine). I've actually changed the rise before by carefully unpicking the the waistband, cutting the pants to have the rise I want and then sewing the waistband back on again. But sometimes that doesn't work because the waistband is too small. Or you could just make your own new waistband from spare fabric. It's not too hard actually. Maybe something like that would work for you?

Congrats Jessie, that's so exciting!!! I'm due end of feb too :) My bump is just big enough to make me look chubby but not quite big enough that's it's obvious I'm preggers. Hehe. Hope your pregnancy is going well too xoxo
