I used about 10 yds of yarn for each row, that made a 10 ft scarf. So I think you would need about 1 yd of yarn for each foot of scarf you wanted to end up with. I did 2-3 rows in most colors.

I just finished this dress, probably for Clara. I used the Maxi dress pattern from Knitting Adventures. I used worsted weight and made the smallest size, 6-12 months. It was very easy and quick, I think about 5 hours total.... Continue reading

Thanks, it was very easy, I think just about anyone could make it. I would add that it is probably a good idea to serge or zigzag the cut edge, mine frayed quite a bit.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I have 3 yards of the brown, enough for a skirt, I don't know about a dress. I know about the pattern recommendations on the back, but that is too many to choose from :)

The general pattern is from Knit One, Felt Too, the striped slipper pattern. I did a different stripe pattern, 3 rows each of two colors but otherwise I followed the pattern. I am adding a pic of the hole to my original post.
