"Everybody walk the dinosaur"
Good morning Scrumptious peeps........ I am going through a boy phase in my scrapbooking for once, which is a good thing because he doesn't have many layouts. So when I discovered these Maya Road chipboard dinosaurs in my box I felt like a paleontologist on a great discovery! I was almost as excited as I had been when I'd found these dungarees for Ben at half price in a favourite shop! Along with some special papers that I had been saving for over a year they are a match made in heaven. All I needed now was some texture, dimension... Continue reading

I'm feeling fruity will you join me for a slice or two?
My apologies to those of you who feel like this week is a bit deja vu, but I have kind of jumped on a theme and run with it........sometimes that just happens when you are crafting as you well know!! My kitchen may not be finished but the new decor is coming along swimmingly thanks to this Maya Road chipboard apple that tickled my tastebuds!! I made this plaque from an old wooden childrens jigsaw and turned it over to use the flat side. A few doilies some typewriter style alphabets, pretty papers and a good dose of Glossy Accents... Cooking with Chipboard
Hello all.......she says waving madly through the dust clouds. Not the volcanic ones but the ones the plasterer left behind last week. I dusted off a patch of my sofa and finished off the secret project this week. Although it's not very discreet, as it screams hello at you when you walk into my kitchen..... (well it will do when the plaster dries, is painted and my family agree to my retro colour schemes. I used the adorable "Whats Cookin" chipboard from Maya Road and some glittered letters similar to the Tinsel Town alphabet. Both of which are available from... Continue reading

Scrapbook Trends- "It's all about being Kitch" -by Ruth
Fashion and scrapbooking sometimes catch up with each other when it comes to trends. The curent trend for kitch can be seen in all the high street stores and supermarkets and the latest scrapbooking papers, chipboard and embellishments are bang on trend too. So when I recieved these Maya Road kitchen pieces from Bubbly Funk I knew just what a girl had to do!! Buy some more stash of course!! ...and start to kitch up that kitchen....... .....however my excitement was short lived, due to the kitchen being re-plastered and my complete loss of scrapping space as I use the... Face painting on chipboard!-by Ruth
I bet that Title got your attention my Bubbly friends! OK so I didn't actually use face paint but I did use a few acrylics, a ton of white paint and just went for a rough Gypsy style......probably because I couldn't do any other style if I tried!!! Monet I am not...in fact I am probably a bit more Van Gogh.....slap on the thick and heavy paint and you can see the brush strokes, come to think of it I am probably a bit more like Jackson Pollack..he was the guy who stood on ladders and threw the paint at... Happy Easter Bubblies
Hello everyone.... I have been up into the attic to dig out last years Easter Decorations and they have lasted quite well. Although my distress paint is looking a little bit more distressed, but hey thats part of the charm!! The lesson there is that you should always paint your chipboard with gesso first if it has a pre-printed glossy coating on it!! I have been working on a chippie project this week which isn't quite finished. So if it's Ok with Caroline I'll post it on a free day when there aren't any other projects to show. For now... It's OK, it's not more of my Word Book today - I will finish it, but you'll have to keep an eye on my blog if you want to keep up with that project, I think you've suffered enough of my old holiday photos by now. This week, I've used some bits and bobs from old kits to make a card. This one is ...

Masking with Mist by Ruth
Aloha Bubblies......and a Happy Friday to you to. I have played around with some mist this week and although it's not my usual style I am still quite pleased with the outcome. I did an easy peasy masking technique that I have used before to create some texture on the white space.......not that I left much white space as I think I was a bit heavy handed with the bottle in my excitement!! I used the reverse side of the gorgeous Websters Pages paper from Bubbly Funk and carefully cut a hole to place the photograph behind. You can buy... Continue reading

Yum Yum in my tum.....I wish!!
I am such a scale freak!! I love my digital scales they help me bake properly!!
I have lots of NZ cook books and they are just like the US ones with cups..fortunately I have a set of cups too but am always most disappointed when they don't rise enough, I might start using both self-rasing and baking powder!!
Thanks for the tips!!
Strawberry Muffins
1/2 cup caster sugar 1 tbsp grated lemon zest 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (I used McDougalls Whole Gold Premium All Purpose Flour) 1 tbsp baking powder 2 lightly beaten eggs 1 cup milk (although I did add a little more as the batter is quite thick) 1/2 cup butter (melted) 1 tsp vanilla extrac...

Word Book & Other Kit Bits Gift Box - by Kathy
This cute box is great for all sorts of little things - fab for small gifts or maybe you could make a notebook the perfect size to fill it. I've bought some earrings for my SIL's birthday present and they're in one of those little velvet drawstring bags - nice enough, but a bit tricky to...
