I did not personally know Kate Spade. I never met her so I cannot claim to know her or her personality, but I adored her. She was the designer of newly minted career gals in the mid-90s like myself. Before then, I scoured thrift stores, looking for gently worn pieces... Continue reading

My early adult years were spent without pets mostly because I lived in apartments that did not allow pets. During the first three years I lived in Philadelphia, I bought Fred (in 1997), my pet albino rat, and though I was quite attached to him, no one every considered him... Continue reading

We've all seen at least one viral picture of a woman in public with her dress stuck in her underwear, completely unaware she is being photographed. The online sharing and snickers will continue for hours on social media until the cute seven-year-old is caught on video wiping his booger on... Continue reading

Our good friend--and best man at our wedding--said, "John is a fascinating guy. He just told me the story about being hit by a train once." My eyebrows raised 3 inches off my face because I did not know this story. Turns out to be true. The man was hit... Continue reading

I will have to tell you because our cats, Opal and Otto, don't know how (can't be bothered ) to type...yet. For the record, I don't really like most perfumes, parfums, eau de parfums, eau de toilettes or eau de colognes myself because I don't find them pleasant. I smell... Continue reading

LOL! My husband's real name is Pat, but he goes by many alias's and I refer to him as "Poseidon" on my blog, so no way you could ever get his name wrong! I took Topamax briefly in 2004 for migraines. My doctor nicknamed it "The Barbie Pill" because she said it will make me feel "loopy." It most certainly did!

I stopped by the grocery store tonight, the store I frequent at least twice each week. John (yup, that it his real name), the cashier in the self-checkout section was there. Without meaning to armchair diagnose, I'm going to assume John is somewhere on that beautifully colored autism spectrum. He... Continue reading

Molly, I apologize for not responding to your comment sooner. I too have had very little time to devote to my own blog this year, but I am very sorry to hear about your Georgie. My best friend in high school had a manx. Beautiful creatures. Wishing you a peaceful holiday season with good memories to hold on to of Georgie. Thank you for reading :)

Isn't it amazing, Joscelyn? It does appear to be common that we all think everyone does this. Just makes us super cool ;)

Jennifer, it is very cool. Like your son, I just assumed everyone did this. It made learning more fun for me :)

Life has been crazy, beautiful this year, and I realized just this morning how close we are to nearing the end of it. Contrary to what my title suggests, this year has seen little of what I would call drama, but has had its share of challenges, mixed with new... Continue reading

"I want to be honest with you, this isn't going to end well. Once they reach this age, and we see fluid in the lungs, they have maybe a month, tops, to live." This is what the vet told me on Friday morning. May 29, 2015. My routine is now... Continue reading
