CK, I hope you cook these stuffed peppers and if you do let me know how they turn out! :)
Romanian Stuffed Peppers- The Best Stuffed Peppers Ever!
These stuffed peppers are like a warm blanket hugging me on a cold evening. They are my # 1 comfort food and very much needed now that temperatures are heading south. The thing is, that it's not just about eating these peppers, it's also about cooking them. My entire 350 or so square foot apa...
Thank you for this contest. :)
My favorite perfume flanker is the recentChloe perfume. You reviewed it and I commented but the
web-site got messed up and it didn't post. I was really surprized when I tried it and I think it's great.
Estee Lauder fragrances and I have a long history. My mom love Beautiful. It's her fragrance. I used to like Pleasures though I don't wear it anymore. I tried Sensuous a few times but I'm not convinced. Pleasures is my favorite Estee Lauder fragrance.

A few days ago I tried Infanta en Flor (artquisite) and liked it. I wanted to smell it again and again. The flowers combined with the leather are addictive. The new Cavalli fragrance is very beautiful too.

My favorite perfume is Carnal Flower. I don't pay much attention to ads of any kind but I like the one for Coco Mademoiselle. I used to wear that perfume.

Speaking Perfume : A-Z of Common Fragrance Descriptions
The inability of our language to fully capture the nuances of scents can be very frustrating. We associate scents with something – a place, a memory, a flavor – but most people struggle to describe smell on its own terms. Perfumers and professional fragrance evaluators overcome some of the co...
I will try this one for sure! :)
Bond No. 9 Central Park West : New Perfume
Bond No. 9 introduces a new fragrance inspired by New York's neighborhood. Central Park West will officially launch on March 15. The notes include narcissus, black pepper, ylang-ylang, gardenia, jasmine, linden, iris, musk, white oak, treemoss, vetiver. It comes with a detachable pink flower, ...
I was given a sample of Dans Tes Bras when I bought Carnal Flower and love it! It seems to stay close to the skin which is why I don't wear it often. I keep the sample in my cosmetic bag and I can smell it whenever I open the bag which is weird given that I cannot smell it on myself when I wear it. It is very, very nice and certainly different. I also have a sample of Musc Ravageur but I have more trouble with that one. I'm not sure if I like it. May be it's my nose. :)
Frederic Malle Dans Tes Bras : Fragrance Review
Star rating: 5 stars--outstanding/potential classic, 4 stars--very good, 3 stars--adequate, 2 stars--disappointing, 1 star--poor. Sometimes I read a fragrance description, and even though I know not to attach too much importance to the notes, the idea of a perfume is conj...
Classics are not usually my thing and part of me feels guilty about it. I do like Chanel No 5 but I'm not mad about it. No matter how hard I try, I still don't like Mitzouko, Shalimar, L'Heure Bleu etc. The only Guerlains I like are Champs Elysee, Attrape Coeur and Idylle. Recently I sampled Cuir Beluga from L'art et la Maitiere collection and I like it. May be it's just a matter of skin chemistry as my mom and I have similar taste. But I'll keep sniffling and who know what will happen. Thank you for your wonderful writing! :)
10 Things I Love About Classical Perfumes
During the course of my love affair with fragrance, I have grown to enjoy many types of perfumes, but I have always had a soft spot for classics. I gravitate to classics in my other interests too—books, films, music, dance, so it is not surprising that the retro aesthetic appeals to me in scen...
I would say she wears Carnal Flower. I certainly can't imagine her wearing a perfume that's too fruity/floral.
Perfume This Photo! (Contest)
Does anyone embody film noir more than Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart? Of course, there are many actors that starred successfully in this brooding, mysterious cinematic genre, but Bacall and Bogart still remain my idols. As I was going through the photo archives on my computer, I came acros...
I guess that makes sense. If we like to smell good we should also want our surroundings to smell good as well. I'll have to take that step soon! :)
New Frederic Malle Candles : Notre Dame, Chez Monsieur, Marius & Jeannette

I have to agree on the price.I get my candles from Whole Foods or Anthropology and they smell great!

I find that perfumes sometimes allow to escape on a daily basis, just for a sniff. It doesn't matter where I am, I can just change the routine with a sniff.
Perfumes can also change my mood.
Perfumes are part of the outfit. It's like an accessory that can change the outfit from plain to fun. :)
Why Do We Love Perfume
The other day my mother shared a story of me as a seven year old trying to make a lilac perfume. I collected lilac flowers, covered them with water and kept the jar by my bedside to observe the transformation. Within days the jar started smelling rank and its contents looked rotten, but I refu...

Unfortunately, I don't get gifts anymore, I just give them. I bought Marc Jacobs by Marc Jacobs for my mom as she always admires it on me and for one of the nurses who takes care of her I got D&G The One. For myself I ordered Noel Au Balcon by Etat Libre D'Orange. I have a sample of this perfume and absolutely love the dry down.
Perfume : To Give and To Receive
What perfume would you have liked to receive as a gift this holiday season? Are you giving a scented gift to anyone this year? I hope that Chanel Coromandel is among my fragrance gifts this year, because after going through several decants, I decided that I am ready for a full bottle. The sc...
I tried this a few days ago and really liked it but I agree with you that there's nothing special about it. It is a lot like Love & Tears by Killian. SL A La Nuit is a much better fragrance.
Tom Ford Private Blend Jasmin Rouge : Fragrance Review
Star rating: 5 stars--outstanding/potential classic, 4 stars--very good, 3 stars--adequate, 2 stars--disappointing, 1 star--poor. A few years ago, Jasmin Rouge would have had me rushing immediately to the perfume store. The idea of a jasmine laced with spices and enrobed in a...
Anne, I tried Idylle and I really liked it even though I'm not big on Guerlain. The reason I suggested Shalimar Parfum Initial is because someone compared it to Idylle. I also just thought of Tresor and Poeme. I know Poeme is v. strong but I do like it. Recently I started to like Chanel No 5 (perfume) and I find it suitable for the winter.
Your Favorite Comforting "Cashmere Wrap" Fragrances : Winter Perfumes

I love, love, love Iris Poudre!! I almost bought it. In the winter I also like the classic D&G but mostly to go out. I find it very comforting. I know it has no relation to Iris but may be worth a try. I recently saw it at Saks. Have you tried Shalimar Parfum Initial? Might be worth a try. Organza by Givenchy is also nice.
I'm also looking for winter fragrances so enjoying this post. I tend to go for flowery fragrances and have a hard time finding heavier scents appealing.

I love, love the way this fragrance smells in the beginning but after that it turns powdery on me. Very powdery! Must be my skin. I'll put it on again as I have a sample from sephora. On an unrelated note, last night I bought the last bottle of Tubereuse Criminelle from Barneys. :)
Cartier Baiser Vole : Fragrance Review
Star rating: 5 stars--outstanding/potential classic, 4 stars--very good, 3 stars--adequate, 2 stars--disappointing, 1 star--poor. A lily that flirts with vanilla, Cartier Baiser Volé took me by surprise. After experiencing the pretty, but overly timid Cartier de Lune, I e...
V- you probably know this, but Tubereuse Criminelle is available at Barney's. I smelled it today. They didn't have it a few months ago when I bought Carnal Flower. At first, TC smells just like you described it, like gasoline. After that it turns into something amazing! I love it! I think I like it better than Carnal Flower. I actually went to Barney's in order to try Musc Ravageur which I read so much about. Interesting scent. To me it smells like a mixture or horse manure and baby powder. What is all the hype about? What do people go crazy over it? I think I like Noire Epice better but the reaction others have to Musc Ravageur intrigues me. I have to say that those working at Barney's are not very friendly. It's too obvious that all they care about is you making a purchase right than and there and they somehow look down on you. I may just order my fragrance on-line. :) Happy Thanksgiving! :)
Serge Lutens L'Eau Froide : New Fragrance
In spring of 2012, Serge Lutens will release a new fragrance in his “Water” series. L’Eau Froide (Cold Water) will follow L’Eau de Serge Lutens launched in 2010. The main ingredient of L’Eau Froide is frankincense, and although incense conjures smoldering, burning images, the raw material poss...
I like the smell of burned leaves in the fall. Back home when I was little, ppl would burn the dead leaves. I also like the smell of blue cheese.
Good Bad Smells : Fragrance Talk
What strange, bad scents do you like? In perfumery, the worst smells can have the best effects--the inky, moth ball fragrance of indole lends a natural, velvety note to floral compositions; aldehyde C-11 with its dirty hair facet makes rose accords rich and lush; animalic notes lend a surpris...
No Tomatoes in January or Roasted Beets with Walnuts and Gorgonzola
There were no tomatoes in January or February for most of my childhood. Not even in March. The supermarkets were mostly empty and eating in season was not another foodie trend but reality. In case you didn't get a chance... Continue reading
