Lis, I agree about The Lovely War's potential for a great movie - oh, you have me thinking about that...16 books was definitely - unusual, but I loved every minute.
what I've been reading | january 2021.
A new chapter, a new reading life in January 2021. I've been faithfully reading from my bookshelves or library holds and I racked up quite the stack of finished books in this first month of the new year; off to grand beginnings tallied towards my 2021 Reading Goals. I'm pleased as punch with...
Bless you Linda! What lovely words.

Thank you so much Stacie. My reading scrapbooks are some of my favorite. I'm not an audio reader but I heard Daisy Jones was fantastic on audio, although I enjoyed the style of writing so much.

Thanks Elena! I might check out the film adaptation of Rebecca, although it might be just to suspenseful for my tastes. I visit your blog regularly and enjoy it immensely.

2021 Reading Goals
2020 was a fairly successful reading year in that I met the majority of my reading goals. The 'read a book published every year since I was born' 2020 goal was a wash, however. While I read 40 of 57 books, that goal unmet, and the year 2020 for all its angst, is the very reason my reading goa...
You're so kind Carrie! Thank you so much for commenting. I'm hoping to re-read some of my favorites this year and dig into my TBR pile that are on my list. I did just put about 12 books on hold at the library and I have already received 2/12. Super excited for my reading year.

Thank you Carrie! It was fun to put together and so revealing. I am looking forward to discussing who we are as readers at my book club.
100 Things About Me as a Reader
Source The other day when I visited Modern Mrs. Darcy's blog she had posted 100 Things About Me as a Reader. It was based on a project introduced by elementary school teachers who wanted their students to learn about the importance of knowing themselves as readers. The project originated 10 y...
Yes, it was wonderful gathering. It was only 9 of us so fairly small group. My mom has alot of health issues (as do I) so we've had to cancel quite a few visits over the year. Thank you so much for your thoughtful expressions of my pages, too!!!

Thank you so much Alexa for your kind thoughts. Warm version salad? Would love to hear what you come up with. There are a plethora of options on Pinterest!

Thanks so much! I think if I'd read Ballet Shoes as a child I would have appreciated it more.
What I've Been Reading Lately | October Edition
Today I am sharing what I've been reading in October. A few so so books and several fantastic reads. Maya Angelou's And Still I Rise is definitely a favorite of this month as was Max Lucado's, How Happiness Happens and A.W. Tozer's, The Pursuit of God; the last two of which Jeff and I ...
Hey Christine, I am sticking with my 4 x 8 album for 2020 and don't have any plans to print those review pages. If you look in my categories you'll see other ways, in past years I have documented my reading: 100 Books in 2018 I made 6 x 8 pages and inserted them into my About Me album. In 2017 I created 12 x 12 monthly pages of what I read. 2019 was 4 x 8, also. In 2016 I documented the 52 books I read in a 4 x 4 album. In 2015, the first year I documented what I was reading I simply made a 2-page, 12 x 12 and added the book cover into squares with no reviews. Hope this helps some.

Thanks Alexa! I loved the design, too. Design is Cathy Zielske's specialty. Love her templates for the clean and simple.
30 Pages in 30 Days | 8
This page, actually 2- 8.5 x 11 pages side by side is another CZ Design template. If I am to complete 30 Pages in 30 Days it is a given - understood - that I would need to use templates in order to remove the guess work out of design. This template not only offered design but story idea as wel...
Glad you like the new format. I would have liked actually getting to talk about the House on Mango Street. I know the books we've read in my book club are so much - more - because we talk about them. I may not like it more but it definitely is memorable.
What I've Been Reading | June 2020
It was a fairly good month for reading, although I feel I should have read more. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, a rather hefty book, took a long time to read. I am currently reading and I am about half way through, The Sword of Shannara. I blew through I'm Still Here at a pace for taking not...
Carrie, thank you so much! It was such a spur of the moment project but with the help of an alarm on weekends it is going beautifully! I am trying to keep up each day and that is even working out. The clean and simple designs of these pages are my favorite.

Alexa, I saw SOMETIMES is a great one word prompt years ago as a way of capturing our stories. Try it! It's a great word prompt.

Alexa, I have learned that when changing our thoughts that we cannot simply let them go without replacing thoughts of better, such as gratitude, replacing fear.

what I've been reading | february 2020
A Perilous Undertaking by Deanna Raybourn. Book two in the Veronica Speedwell Mystery series and, while I didn't enjoy it as much as the first in the series, A Curious Beginning, that doesn't really mean much because it was wickedly clever, and a thoroughly enjoyable reading pleasure. I cont...

Stories 2020 | Lovin' - January
It's been a long time coming but I can finally see the end of having my living room design - finished! After hanging my grandkids photos and several other pieces of word art and art pieces, recently, I realized I have one more piece of furniture, one more painting to re-purpose, and a few déco...
