Yes, get a dog! Cookie would want you to! I love both dogs in the pics...our daughter rescued a sweet Golden two years ago. She was 60 pounds overweight due to neglect-they locked her in a room, no exercise and just kept filling her food bowl. She weighed 130 pounds and looked like the Titanic. Now she's a slim trim 70 pounds who runs and plays.
Is There a Dog For Me Somewhere Out There?
My dog Cookie has been gone now for six weeks and my grieving is less consuming. But, I think about her all the time and miss her like crazy, especially at night. I have given away all her food and paraphanalia and yesterday I donated her expensive prescriptions to my vet. They use them for pe...

Cookie Breakthrough: First Art Journal Page
Cookie died on Oct. 23 and since then I have not been able to look at photos of her, but today I made a breakthrough. I started a desktop folder and began pulling photos of her into it. Then I made my first art journal page of her tonight. I still have more doodling and pen work to do, but I'm v...

When Dreams are Manifested
Most of you know that I believe stepping toward our dreams takes a combination of intention setting with a healthy dose of sweat equity. Let's face it...no one is going to make it happen for us...even the Universe...if we are not willing to do the work and participate. Sound harsh? Well, maybe, ...

Money and Marketing, when no means YES
Standing here wanting my attention is the young girl who felt shame for having money. They nicknamed her "Rich Mitch" because her family suddenly 'had money' that afforded her the opportunity to take painting classes on Tuesday nights. Money made her different from her friends. She is 12 years old.... Continue reading

My Dear Sweet Cookie is Fading Away
For those of you who read here regularly, Cookie has been my beloved companion for 13 of her 14 years. For the past several months she has had her ups and downs and the Cushings drugs made her sicker. Mid-week last week she began refusing food and could no longer walk up the stairs to where ...

I love your blog and your presence. I know this heart pain, the violation of our home...it's soul loss from such a deep place. Fifteen years later I am there again as I read your words today.
Take time for you, and also take time to renew the house...I swept my whole house with a simple broom when we were robbed...I opened all the windows to let the wind wash through, used some sage to invite the good back in to dwell so I could heal. Sending my heartfelt prayers your way.
shattered and washed
(editor's note, thursday morning, after i wrote this post very late in the night: i woke up this morning PISSED OFF, for lack of a better way to say that. i am pissed. pissed, pissed, pissed, pissed. but i refuse to live my one life shaking in cowering paranoia, in spite of the fact that ...
Thanks Amy, I've heard about Jung's Red Book for several years from various shamanic teachers in the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. Good to have an astrologer's insights, eager to read part 2.
Carl Jung's "Red Book": The Astrology Behind the Publication of Jung's Most Personal Work
Carl Jung was a Swiss psychologist and psychiatrist that helped bring forth the birth and development of psychology. In 1914 he began a journal in which he described his personal journey, his "confrontation with the unconscious," as he called it. From 1914 to 1930 he wrote in this Liber Novus (ne...
